Nataya smiled lightly. "Of course I won't mind." she said, giggling once. How absurd a thought; as if she'd ever mind helping someone. "What are you having trouble with?" she asked, smiling at him. Whatever it was, she'd do everything in her power to help.

Josh could only frown, he didn't know how to explain what seemed so hard for him. "Everything." He said with a sigh. "Art's too hard. I'm only good with drawing hearts. Or making Valentine cards." He smiled at her, and at the memory.
"Well, I can draw kitties too." He added, with a nod. But that wasn't anything special. Anyone who lived with Thali could do that.

Nataya thought a moment, pursing her lips. "Well...it helps if you break down the object to its base shapes." she said, hoping that made some sense. "Then, all you have to do is draw in the details. It makes things a bit easier."
"Lucky." she said, chuckling. "I'm not very good at drawing animals."

Joshua looked confused for a moment, tilting his head. "What are we supposed to draw?" He asked. "Then you can show me how to draw it in shapes. Okay? And I can show you how to draw kitties."
It wasn't fair. His dad was such a good artist, and he was so bad at it. He took a black sheet of paper, and started to draw a cat's head and body.

"We're supposed to do a self-portrait page." Nataya said, smiling slightly. Okay, looks like her words had been a bit discombobulating. She picked up her pencil, and was about to start showing him how to break it up when he started drawing. Immediately, her attention was glued to the paper, watching as he started to draw.

Joshua finished the kitten and handed it to her. "For you," he told her with a smile. "I've never done a self portrait." He admited with a frown. "Can I watch you do yours first?" He handed her a piece of paper and waited for her to draw.

Nataya smiled. "Thank you!" she said, looking at it. She loved it! She then nodded. "Alright. I'll draw it slowly, so it's easier to see how, okay?" she said, moving so he could see the paper clearly. She drew slowly, explaining the steps as she sketched herself.

Joshua was happy that Nattie seemed to like the picture he'd drawn for her. He gave his complete attention to her pencil and paper. He was impressed! She was so good at it! He listened to her explaination, and nodded.
He could understand now. He picked up a piece of paper, and started to draw.

Nataya was actually a little surprised that Josh got it. Usually, she wasn't very good at demonstrating this kind of thing. While he started drawing his, she put the finishing touches on hers before tucking the sketchbook back into her backpack.

Joshua smiled at her, before showing her the self portait. "Done!" He said cheerfully, before stashing it into his back pack. He hoped the teacher liked it. "Do you have any other homework?" He asked, with a tilt of his head.
Maybe they could do something fun now.

Nataya smiled. "Nice!" she said. She then shook her head; she'd finished most of hers during class and in lunch. "Do you have any?" If not, then they could go play! She smiled and waited for his answer before she started thinking of games.

Joshua shook his head quickly. "Mom helped me do most of it yesterday." He said. History homework. It was her thing, not his. "Want to play a game, since we're done?" He asked.
Maybe they could play pirates, or something cool.

Nataya grinned. "Sure!" she said before hopping out of her seat and heading for the living room. With all the board games they had, and all the games they could make up....how could they possibly play them all before Thali came to pick Josh up?
