Fernstar perked her ears up at Plumgaze's confession and tilted her head. "Nonsense," She responded in a quiet hiss, "there's got to be some way to get out; we've got our clanmates to think of here." Getting up, she began pawing at the barred entry to her strange den and listened to the others talk as she did so. "The twolegs put us in these things, so there must be a way out of them too. Speaking of those beasts... have you seen any of them so far, Plumgaze?" The Riverclan leader stared at the entry way, scrutinizing the strange device. She kept her voice low so as to keep from alarming the others any.

Twilightblaze stuck her paw out of her cage and pawed at the cage below hers and listened to the chatter. She didn't know many other cats from outside her clan, and she could only hear one other familir voice. She sighed and curled up. "We're not going to get out of hear are we? I mean, even if they come, how will would we get out of..." She motioned to the cage. "These?" She mewed hopelessly.

SootSteps chewed thoughtfully at Twilightblaze's remark and swallowed before meowing "These dens have to open some how and some time. Like FernStar said, If the two legs got us in here they can get us out of here and if we figure that out how we're as good as free. All we'd have to do is wait for an opportunity." she said licking her jaws and sitting up in her den before going on. "... now the twolegs want to keep up fed right?" she said with a small grin. "If we eat they'll refill the bowls and we'll have a change to see how the dens open." she purred and waited to hear the response of the other prisoners.

"No, they don't have to open the cages. There's enough room between these bars to refill a bowl, and even if they did when would we do? They probably won't leave the bigger cage that contains all of us open..." She didn't mean to damper the cat's spirits, after all it was a good idea, but it wouldn't be as easy as that, unless two-legs really were as mouse-brained as they looked and acted.

"Not if you move the bowls towards the back of your cage." Plumgaze suggested absently. He was loathe to admit he'd never really seen a Twoleg, except from a distance. "I haven't." he said down to Fernstar. "They had some strange sort of thorn. It got me in the leg - felt like they'd stuffed me full of poppy seeds. Then I woke up here." The Shadowclan tom frowned. He wished he'd seen the Twolegs - in order to tear strips out of their hides. Oh well.

Fernstar listened to the other warriors and to Plumgaze's final suggestion and tilted her head. "That's not a bad idea, Plumgaze. It wouldn't hurt to try it anyway..." She mewed with a hint of approval in her tone. The Riverclan leader lifted a forepaw from the hard pellets she was standing on and looked down at the mess she made from the tipped food dish. She'd never eat this crowfood in a million years, so she instead began to push the rest of it out of the grated entrance to her shiny den. When the bowl was empty, she kicked it dismissively to the back of her den. "Eat it if you want, but pushing it out of these strange dens gets rid of it all the same." She added as an afterthought, glancing at Sootsteps's den across the room as she listened to the warrior's crunching, "Now all that's left is to get those stupid twolegs' attentions."

SootSteps tail tip twitched irritably as she realized the Wind Claner was right. The pelts could easly be poured in threw the bars. "I guess I should be more observant next time I suggest something." she chuckled, trying not to feel to disappointed about her flopped plan. After all, one had to be creative when dealing with twolegs. About to forget about the idea when Plumgaze add to the idea. "Move the bowls..." 'It was simple but it might work!' she purred quickly pushing the dish to the far end of the cage.
"Aw and I wanted to see the looks on your faces when you tried kittypet food." she complained, her orange eyes glinting mischievously. Only teasing of course... of course ; )
