Hahaha. That's so true. In the Dark Tourney, everyone wanted everyone else dead. Like you said, Makaii everyone was just wanting to punch each other in the face then giggle manically. Haha XD That and fight Urameshi. ; D
And that's true. If they WERE all-knowing, Yusuke would've actually had a place prepared for him, huh? Instead, they were just predicting. They're intelligent, but NOT all-knowing. 3nodding

I can't imagine what the demon world would have been like if Yusuke, Hiei, or Kurama had won that tournament. Seriously. I mean, I guess Yusuke would have made rules similar to Enki's...but what about the other two? Would Hiei have made it an anarchy? For some reason I can see Kurama going for socialism, but I doubt that would work any better with demons than it has humans.
I can't remember what Mukuro or Yomi would have done with it, either. *headdesk*

I'm not really sure what the Demon World would have been like under any of the three, because it . . . really wouldn't have worked, largely because none of them WANTED to be ruler.
Kurama had his mother, Hiei had his own agenda and would probably have hated being in charge, and Yuusuke had no intentions of staying because he was going back to Keiko. I wonder what would have happened if one of them had won, and then abdicated? (Bet's on a large-scale demon riot.)
Mukuro would have left the demon world just as it was, with anarchy and human-killing and all that; Yomi wanted "unification", and if I recall correctly, that involved conquering the human world, too. In point of fact, that's my theory for why Enki and Raizen's old "sparring buddies" even exist in the series -- because NONE of the other characters strong enough to win the Tournament would have been suitable. If Yomi had won, it goes without saying that there'd have been, er, complications; if Mukuro had won, Yuusuke would still be stuck in the Makai because the barrier would have stayed up; the other three have their issues listed above. The happy ending the series went for would have been impossible any other way. (And this, folks, is what we call Deus Ex Machina. But then again, I'm a bitter old harridan, so you can ignore me.)
But, yeah, if forced to be ruler, I think Yuusuke would have played it fast and loose, and turned it into more of a parliament/committee thing so he didn't do too many stupid things; Hiei would have been his usual ruthless self, executed a few people set in place a few rules that helped along him, his sister, and the team, and then left everything else the same because he liked it that way; and Kurama would probably have done a few deep-rooted, subliminal things designed to outlast his very short tenure and ensure that whatever improved, stayed improved, even after he wasn't king anymore.

Kurama would have LOATHED being ruler. I mean, he'd know to put his duty beyond his own desires, but its true, and I could see him turning bitter over it for the first day or two, but then would realize that this was a time for growth and expansion and that he shouldn't throw a fit over it and like borderline_mary said, he'd probably work to improve the world, long-term. 3nodding

You know, when you say it like that, I can't tell if they're all very satisfied with what they have, or if they're just selfish. XD I think the boys like simple things.
If it was me, and I didn't know that demons weren't inherently evil, my one rule? LEAVE THE DAMN HUMANS ALONE. lol. We're getting rid of ourselves very effectively without any help, thanks. borderline_mary is right--there really wasn't any other way that the situation could have played out with a happy ending. (And the anime wasn't all that happy to begin with, at least from my perspective.) The series does have a few deus ex machinas, but I've seen way, way worse. ^^
I've got an AU fic that takes place after Enki's reign has ended, based on the manga's ending. The guy who wins the second time is a very evil demon who basically lets demons have free reign. Unfortunately, due more to human misunderstandings than demons being evil, the whole universe goes to s**t anyway. It's not a very fun fic. XD

Are you kidding me?! I'd LOVE to read that fic! Dude, I'm gonna put it under my pillow so that everytime I get depressed I can read it and I'll just start laughing and it'll put a grin on my face! Please! Send it to me! : DDD
...J...K...
Hahaha! Sorry, COULDN'T resist. ; D
That fic sounds interesting though, as well as something that would make me want to either facepalm, commit suicide, or throw my shoe at the demon lord and demons. O_e;

yeah...the way the ending is...and maybe I'm cynical....but it can't stay that way...
1- I don't think Youko is really gone that easily 2- Maybe it's just the HxK lover in me (though HXM is nice too 3nodding ), but I just don't feel like Hiei can do what he is doing forever... 3- Yusuke almost acted like he wasn't sure he was going to come back and if things go crazy he'll be back in Makai...and what if he finally decides he belongs there and not in the human world regardless of Keiko? 4- Kuwabara and Yukina's aging difference...
There is more...but how 'bout i just start there XDDD

True, the YYH ending isn't exactly happy, but I think it's perfect for where the series ended up. Imagine being the author and having to ADDRESS all those problems. *shivers*
Leaving it the way it was left allowed the readers/watchers imaginations to run wild with possibilities. Left it open-ended. : )
I personally loved the ending. It had a sorta bitter-sweet feel, you know? And it fit the series. The YYH characters have always been the kind for temporal happiness, you know?

Yes it did end in a nice spot for the imagination....though it hurts my brain thinking about it.
Yeah Yu Yu Hakusho is bitter sweet instead of being all sweet or all bitter. heart

Well of course. That's what MAKES it such a GREAT ANIME.
All that opposition throughout just makes us laugh and cry harder than we ever have before. I've paused YYH because of something Yusuke said or did on many occasions, and just busted out on the floor, guffawing my little head off.
I've also paused it when Hiei left because I needed to leave the room for a few moments.
Yu Yu Hakusho's factor of temporal happiness I think makes it an anime a lot of people can relate to. It's brilliantly made in so many senses I really don't think the creator knew what he was doing. He was just writing a show.

I swear, my AU fic addresses most of these problems in the shot term at least. XD It's rated R, though, havi, and knowing that you're under 17 I don't know that I could in all good conscience send it to you. LOL.
The ending to YYH was very bittersweet, but in that way I liked it much more than I did any other anime. It seemed more real than anything else.

Mmmmhmmm, I've been drinkin' for a good eighteen months now and uh, I'm also Elvis Presley... ... O_e; Haha, jk jk, that's probably BEST that you don't send it to me. I'm supposed to avoid those things. ^^; It still sounds VERY cool though and I compliment you for your creativity. : D InkMistress The ending to YYH was very bittersweet, but in that way I liked it much more than I did any other anime. It seemed more real than anything else. Yeah, definitely. I think that was what was so appealing about it. It was just so relateable and real, you know? : ) eartianwerewolf I could cry just thinking about it icon_crying.gif . I am going to love this anime forever..and don't think I'll find one that measures up to its caliber <3. It can make me biased toward some anime XD escpecially ones where the people investigate the supernatural. Hahah, yeah, I get that way with characters in different stories. It actually helps me understand them better. Example: Draco Malfoy--> Hiei with no honor code, has same want for dominance, speaks to others in same manner, but mostly without any alternate motive.

eartianwerewolf It can make me biased toward some anime XD escpecially ones where the people investigate the supernatural. Me too. stare Here's looking at you, Ichigo. There's an Epileptic Tree theory on TV Tropes that Bleach and Yu Yu Hakusho take place in the same universe, or that Ichigo is a Spirit Detective after Yusuke's time.

Yeah both me and my friend don't like Bleach...she didn't like it even before seeing Yu Yu Hakusho..
And people get mad if I say that Bleach is a copycat YYH.
OO That'd be cool! Itchigo is the new Spirit Detective! Too bad I like the old one better XD
There is some anime called.....Ghost hunt? i think. I watched one ep. It was uber boring to me...
