"And the prince, he must have saved her!" Some people said, making Joshua feel awkward. He was glad he had chosen not to tell Galleai the name of the person he wanted to go to the ball with.

That was something, even in the waking world, he would never admit. She was much too much of a special friend. No one else could know. "Do you want to sit down?" Josh asked, looking at Gal.

Gal nodded, looking over the tables and tables full of food and the servants bringing even more trays in. As she sat next to Josh she wondered if it would all get eaten. She was about to ask him his opinion when a general outcry started.

"Tell us how you rescued the princess!" People started shouting. The "princess" shook her head a little. This whole dream seemed oddly backwards and confusing. She was pretty sure that Josh felt a little confused too but she grinned at him. "Yeah, tell them how you saved me from the pirates."

Josh frowned. He didn't know what to tell the people. He certainly didn't remember saving Gal from anything, muchless pirates. He silently decided to make something up. If only to keep them happy-- then he could eat!

"The pirates were cruel," he started, looking at those who'd asked for the tale. "Though, I have never met a group of pirates so lacking in intellect." He told them the story, using a great deal of words he would never use in the real world. But this was his dream. He could use words he didn't know.

When he finished the story, Gal clapped along with everyone else. He had told it so well that she could almost taste the salt water and hear the angry shouts of the pirates. He was really a very good storyte--

Gal looked around her and blinked. The festal hall was gone and instead she was on a ship. Huge waves curled over the sides and she was almost immediately soaked. Squinting, she didn't see Josh but she did see a lot of dirty, bearded men. "Josh? Josh!" She shouted. Had she fallen into someone else's dream, or was she still in Josh's?

Josh froze. Instead of the hall, with the guests and food, he found himself on a small boat. She wasn't a poorly made boat-- but it couldn't compete with the...

..Pirate ship?

This dream was backwards! He felt a sword at his side as he watched his boat's sail bloom like a large white cloud. He was headed straight for the other ship. "Galeai?" He called. "Gal?"

She couldn't hear him over the sounds of the ocean, but she did spot the little sail not too far away. Opening her mouth to shout his name again, the word was caught by the wind as she was grabbed around the waist by a pirate.

"Tie her hands!" He shouted and Galleai squealed. She wasn't frightened exactly. She knew that she wouldn't really be harmed. But even knowing that didn't change the fact that there was a big man with smelly breath and a knife throwing her around.

Josh frowned slightly-- how was he supposed to save Galleai? He couldn't see any way--

The boy smiled. He'd just realized what Gal had meant by controling dreams. As soon as the thought had come into his head, a rope ladder had appeared on the side of the ship. He grabbed hold and started to climb. He reached the deck, and pulled out his sword.

"To arms, men!" The pirate captain commanded, reaching for his own cutlass. One would think that a boatload of pirates against one boy would have a clear outcome. But these pirates clearly knew something of Josh and his sword.

"Josh!" Galleai shouted again as she was hoisted over someone's shoulder. He started climbing up towards the crows nest where it would be harder for Josh to reach him.

Now came the difficult part. Joshua really didn't want to hurt anyone. It wasn't his way of doing things. He frowned, and swung his sword at the pirate's feet. He was shorter, and it was easy for him to get away when they tripped.

"Galleai!" Josh called, running up the stairs and climbing towards the crows nest. He didn't remember ever being good at climbing-- but this was a dream.

"Josh!" She flung herself against her captor and managed to fling herself right out of the crows nest. Tumbling head over heels through the air, it took her a moment to gather her wits about her and, just as she was about to fall past Josh she stopped, bobbing up and down in the air.

Josh blinked at the sight. Galleai was floating? How was she doing that? "A-are you alright?" He had to struggle not to stutter, as he remembered he was in the dream world. "How do you do that?"

Gal grinned. "Well, I didn't want to fall all the way down and hurt myself." She said, doing a little dip. "If you want to, though, I'll fall if you promise to catch me so the rescue doesn't get messed up." There was a decided tone of mischief to her voice. "You know, it's not hard. Especially since it's your dream."

Josh shook his head. "I don't think I could catch you." He admited. Soon, he too began to float, and he let go of the rope he had been using to climb up. He was reminded of the story his mother had told him about the boy that could fly and never grew up. "Want to fly home?" He asked. The pirates were climbing after him, now.

"I think we should move, at least." He added, with a grin.

Reaching out, Gal grabbed his hand and gave it an encouraging squeeze. "I think this will definitely make a rescue story that will make all those people happy." She grinned and, letting go of his hand, did a little spiral in the air. "Yes. Lets fly home. I'll race you!"

Josh smiled at his friend and nodded. This would make a great story. "We'll tell it together." He decided, before putting his arms out like the wings of a bird. He glided forward, looking surprised at his success. He couldn't wait to tell his younger brother that he'd flown.

Then again, Vincent probably wouldn't believe him. Oh well. Someday, he would write his dreams down. For now, they were for him to enjoy.
