"No special destination," Ewan replied airily. "Wherever the wind takes us. I'll be glad to tell you all I know about our little world along the way."

"Now then," he added, pointing in a random direction, "let's go this way!" Little did the wingless angel know that his choice would lead them to another maiden and her knight.

Ewan laughed. "Why, yes, I do believe it is! You've got sharp senses, my dear. Quite sharp indeed!" He twirled around and began heading toward the lake, his smile never fading. "Let's not dawdle, then, lest the wind change direction once more!"

Little did the wingless angel know that this direction would lead them to another maiden and her knight.

Ewan gave an embarrassed chuckle. "Unfortunately, dear," he replied, "I lack the ability to walk on water. Not only that, but despite being an angel, I can't fly. Looks like we'll have to go around the lake! I don't really mind, though; gives us more time to talk!" He winked playfully as he made that last statement.

“Stories? I’m not sure, I’m positive I have heard some stories but most of the times might have passed me by I’m afraid. I fell into slumber about ninety years ago.” Her words didn’t hide any truths as she looked at him. Her body would eventually sit up as her long emerald green hair could be seen better and her silver eyes. She’d look at Alex carefully as she looked in the direction of where he was looking. “Calm yourself spirits. They do not pose a threat.” She could hear the chatter of the spirits as well and their worry. She’d raise her hand up as it seemed one of the spirits seemed to become tangible and nuzzle itself into her hand.

"Well," said Ewan as he began to circumvent the lake, "my birth was cursed by a particularly nasty angel who had just been ejected from the Kingdom of Heaven. He was rather ticked off when the council ruled that my parents, who both supplied him with information relating to whatever he was planning, were innocent. He was determined to take them down with him, so he put a curse on their unborn baby (yours truly), keeping my wings from forming in the hopes that they would be forced to take an innocent child's life. Luckily, my parents were smart. They knew what would happen if they killed their cursed child, so they decided instead to leave me in the care of some nearby monks. That was 300 years ago, if you can believe it~!"

The angel without wings turned to smile at Akira. "Now then, dear, may I ask where you're from? You seem to have this...other-worldly quality about you."

Calisto would smile as she looked at him. Her eyes had an equal sparkle to it as she gave Alex a light kiss upon the cheek. She’d carefully lay back down, but this time placing her head in his lap. She was comfortable that way. She’d sleep too that way.

Ewan smiled calmly as Akira hugged him. "You needn't be sorry," he said. "The one who placed the curse is long gone by now, and his plan backfired with my survival. The curse was more on my parents; I was only meant to be a sacrifice." He gave a knowing wink. "I wouldn't exactly call that misfortune."

"The moon," parroted the angel as his companion giggled. "Sounds like a wonderful place! I imagine it's even more beautiful than it looks from all the way down here!"
