"Yeah just a crow, at least at the moment it was" he chuckled shaking his head at the thought of it. Spooked by a crow, no not really he wished it had only been a crow. Sadly though he feared there was something much larger out there waiting for them. "Definitely" he agreed with a sharp nod, stepping back a bit as the deer tried to shake the mud off, not wanting to get covered in it himself.
Following in seths steps glaring at the ditch once more as they passed and putting himself at the other bucks back. He couldn't explain it, but he felt protective of the green buck. Maybe it was just friendship that made him want to see the other safe. "You know, mud doesn't look to bad on you? It matches all that earthy green!" shen giggled trying to lighten the mood even just a little bit.

The Sorrow watched his silver hooves as he paced somberly over the brush, unintentionally crushing the life beneath him. He seemed to be in a haze, swamped in his gloomy thoughts. His ears, however, were constantly on the alert, whirling to pinpoint every sound. Seth only snapped out of his dreary daydream when Shen let out that unexpected compliment.
"Heh, thanks... Shen..." Seth swung his head around to give the purple buck a faint smile. "You're a good friend." His head returned to its original position, and he plummeted back into his depressing state. His ears were as alert as ever, but that didn't keep him from running into a tree directly in front of him. "Oof..."

"Oi, your welcome seth. Nice to know I'm good at something" a good friend, that was probably the sweetest compliment he'd gotten all day, really it was niec to know that at least seth wasnt totally gone. Ever since the ditch the buck had seemed a bit listless like he wasnt really all there.
"Eh, seth..hey seth-ouch..mmnn yeah trees.." he winced as he watched seth walk smack dab into the large tree in front of him. "You see, you see why the forest isn't my friend..tsk, mean trees" the purple buck huffed walking around to stick his nose in seths face "Hey, are you alright? You seem out of it" well not to mention that the guy had just walked straight into a tree. "Are you okay?" he asked a bit more sternly this time, wanting seths attention. Putting his face levewl with the other bucks. Maybe they should be searching for a river or something.

It took a few seconds for Seth to comprehend the pain. "Aaauugh." He shook it off, stepping to the side nearly running into Shen too. "It's not the Forest's fault. It's mine." Seth locked eyes with Shen, and sensed the deep concern coming from the purple buck. "I'm sorry. There's alah-jal'mine... A lot on my mind." There was always a lot on his mind. The reason for that being because he was so reluctant to share it with anyone else. And he wasn't about to start... Not yet. Quickly, Seth discovered a distraction, hoping to change the subject before he was pried apart like a treasure chest. He hopped forward excitedly, "Daisies!" He yelped as he dashed toward the patch of yellow scented plants.

Shen rolled his eyes quietly, and here he wanted to blame the forest..all those trees. "Eh, s'okay no worries" he chuckled as he finally caught the bucks eyes, well at least he wasn't totally lost in a daze, and the tree didnt kill him. Blinking surprised as the buck suddenly dashed from his view.
Shen couldn't help but grin and laugh at the sight of it "Well of all things, see I told you there were daisies here!" he said almost proudly as he pranced forwards to stand with the buck, looking the curious flowers over. "Honestly though, are you sure these things are okay to eat, there not poisonous right?" he felt a bit skeptical, but they did smell nice, and they were such a bright color.

Seth submerged his head into the yellow flowers, taking in and savoring the sweet scent. He ripped a few from their roots, and munched on them happily. Once he had swallowed the treat, he turned to Shen. "Of course they're not poisonous. Go on, try it out." The green buck smiled, and bit into another bitter tasting yellow weed.

Shen chuckled and shook his head as he watched seth dive into the bed of daisies, grinning nervously as the buck seemed to enjoy eating the things. We'll if he wasnt falling over dead then they must not have been poisonous, really he'd just have to take seths word for it. "Alright alright, I guess if you say so then they must be safe?"
He smirked softly giving seth a lopsided grin leaning down to cautiously nibble at a few. He was surprised at first by the taste, bitter but not so much that it was unpleasant, mimicking seth as he took a few more, yanking the flowers right up from there roots. The buck grinned proudly in a rather fawnish way, like a kid showing off that he had eaten his vegetables. "Hah they are good!"
