Yuri sat there, on the roof top, thinking about what he had said about Savarah. He sighed, shrugging it off as survival, but somehow, it just didn't feel right. However, it had got the others to believe him and possibly saved his hide, so he had no time to feel bad. Right now, he was hunting one of the few remaining hunters in this city. And he had about an hour to wait still, so he lay back against the wall.

Yuri was resting lightly, for about 15 minutes, when he began to hear a heartbeat. He grinned, waiting until he heard a sound, before he cleared his throat, and announced himself.

"Ah, it's a little early to be here, don't you think?" He spoke, his voice breaking the silence in the air. He opened his eyes, still sitting against the wall, "It's rude to try and take the advantage of your opponent..." He grinned as a young Native-American woman stepped out of the shadows. She held a crossbow pointed at his chest, her finger waiting for Yuri to give her the slightest reason to fire. Yuri held up his hands in a carefree manner, "Please, I wish to make this as painless for you as I can. I promise, no turning you...Just a quick snap of the neck."

The woman replied with a smirk, that looked more like a twitch, before she released the arrow. Yuri tried to dodge the arrow, but failed, having it embed itself in his right arm.

Nicky looked up as she felt someone following her. Shrugging her shoulders she went on. She didn't dare run, but she knew better. Keeping a steady pace she came to a much less crowded area. Now she was getting uneasy, but did not show it. She stopped and turned to face her stalker. Tilting her head she smiled at the vampire as she blocked off her mind. The vampire seemed confused by this and Nicky turned around. She left him standing there, which for some odd reason or another she had that affect. Not many vampires messed with her because of her lack of fear, which meant a boring hunt.

Hakuya walked down the trash laden street. Avoiding suspicion, she always fed outside her city. This area was new to her being a few miles farther than the 5-10 that she usually travels.

She had been following a woman about 26 years of age. Hakuya had walked ahead of her about a block back and turned down a promising alley to await her prey. Being a shape shifter she took her form of a Siberian Husky and limped out of the alley catching the woman's eye.

"Aww. You poor thing." The woman came closer in an attempt to pet Hakuya but she just limped away into the alley once again. The woman followed and Hakuya striked. Pouncing on the woman she shifted back to her vampyre form and feasted on the woman's blood. No screams came as the woman was too in shock to have any reaction.

Hakuya rose and cleaned what blood was around her mouth. She threw the lifeless body into the dumpster and walked on to the brick wall and jumped over just missing a homeless man and walked on heading nowhere in particular.

[[I have no clue... I wish though... eh.]]

Nicky took a seat down on a bench and relaxed. She began to hum lightly. Looking up at the sky as she thought. She looked down with her eyes and bit her pinky finger. She didn't know what to do at the moment as she was bored out of her mind. She let got of her finger and placed her hands in her lap. She put her head back and shut her eyes trying to calm her racing mind.

Yuri cried out, his voice falling to the streets below as he looked at the arrow. After a moment, he looked at her, smiling a little. "Pretty good, for a hunter...But you only get one chance in a real fight..." He moved forward with lightning quick speed, and pinned the woman against the wall. He brought a hard knee into her gut before leaning in to bite her neck, his hands pinning her wrists above her head. He drank for a few minutes before pulling back, letting the hunter slump to the ground motionless.

He walked to the edge of the building and looked down, watching another vampire finish draining her victim. "I wonder..." He jumped over the edge, landing on a fire escape of the building, and began jumping down, trying to catch up with her, before she disappeared.

After a few blocks of random wandering Hakuya saw a park and decided to head for the swings. As she sat on the only vacant swing next to a kid about 6 or 7 she noticed a lady sitting on a nearby bench watching her very closely. Ignoring her she went on swinging.

"You're pretty." Hakuya turned to look at the little boy swinging next to her.

"Thank you." she said as she smiled at the little boy knowing her fangs wouldn't show.

At that moment the woman sitting on the bench picked up the little boy and said to him "It's time to go now. You're father will be home soon."

"But we just got here."

"It's time to go." And with that she picked him up and headed off.

Hakuya looked after them knowing the real reason for their sudden departure. The little boy looked back and waved smiling at her and she waved back. She then continued swinging and stared up at the sky watching the clouds and finding shapes. An ice cream cone. A dog. A person running. A piece of pizza?

Nyrk lay on the pavement. It was the middle of the day, and Nyrk was bleeding lightly. He was too weak to move. It had been a few days since Nyrk had reached New York, and last night nearly proved his demise. He had not been bitten, thank god, but he had been shot. He lay on the pavement, waiting to gather his strength. Nyrk was painfully aware of the sun's slow progression through the sky, the approach of sunset, though hours away, felt like mere minutes.

He wondered what he really was doing here for a few minutes, which were really hours.

A few more minutes, and he'd get up. He'd plan a little better. Then he'd begin. Until then...

After about an hour of watching the clouds Hakuya headed home taking the rooftops. She found the nearest alley and checked to see if it was clear. Once she was sure it was abandoned she scaled the wall and looked over the city from the roof. She started running, jumping between building, and over and under vents. Every now and then seeing another form running across the buildings. At every main street and depending on the width of it she either jumped to the next building ir jumped down and ran across to the next one.

She came to a main steet and jumped down to an empty alley. Sure that there was no one around she shifted to her Husky form. She made sure that no one knew of her shifting ability. Or knew much about her at all for that matter. She ran out of the alley and darted across the street before the light turned red. Since she was almost home she decided to stay shifted and walked the rest of the way.

Darzel followed his prey by staying completely in his shadow. He didn't want to frighten the person by following him the normal way so he was in shadow form sliding across the ground completely hidden by his target's shadow so that he wouldn't be noticed in the fading daylight.

The man cut through an alley planning to the subway fasterwith his shortcut, but that was his last mistake. Once he got deep enough into the alley Darzel shifted back into vampire form and attacked.

After darzel finished feeding he took his sword and cut the man in half from neck to groin. 'There's enough competition already.' thought Darzel before shifting back into shadow form so he could scale the wall and watch the sun set from the roof.

Nyrk was in his hidden room again, lit only by a single flame. The floor was littered with wrinkled up cloth, all stained red. Nyrk sat up in his bed, dabbing at all his wounds with any cloth he could find. Fortunately, none were bite marks.

These New York variety vampires were tough! They all seemed to have powers beyond that of people. Ridiculously overdone, kill-all powers. He was only human, and they were that and more. Superhumans. Gods? No. Demons. Nyrk thought to himself vindictively.

He was going to need a new plan of action. His gun supply was still with him, but to take out even a single vampire, Nyrk was going to need people. Lots of them. That dawn, Nyrk got out of bed, got his light gear, and set out in search of recruits. Not just survivors, but battle-hardened hunters like himself. Yuri? He was too formally dressed to be a hunter. Wait... why WAS he formally dressed? Nyrk left the thought to dissipate as the morning sunlight hit his face. It was time to find some hunters.

((edit/ WHAT? Six vampires and only FOUR humans? And I'm the only male human!? *facepalm*))

As the sun rose Darzel turned into a shadow and began to descend from this morning's perch, once again lamenting the short length of time that twilight lasted on either end of the day.

He had fed well last night and it was time to relax considering that he could probably last two or three days after his luck last night. When he reached the alley that he lived in he greeted one of the three cats that shared the alley with him. When he inquired the animal as to the location of the other two it's thoughts brushed his mind and replied that they were off hunting. Nodding he went to the large box in which he slept in and promptly fell asleep.

(lol, you should have expected that. Most people play in vampire RP's to be vamps, best solution if more people don't join as humans is to balance the odds with some peice of technology or hunter gear in general.)

Nyrk walked briskly across the ruins of daytime New York, despite his recent wounds. They were beginning to heal anyhow, but his wounds weren't Nyrk's current concern. It was concerning the people, or lack, thereof, that caught Nyrk's attention. During the night, Nyrk had assumed no human was yet brave enough to venture outside, but it seemed there WERE no humans in New York. Only an endless vendetta against vampire warlords, doomed to continue for eternity. The only humans that exist out here... "...must be cattle. Useless cattle." Nyrk thought, then said, to himself with an expression of loathing. Nobody in New York, or at least, no human, would be capable of assisting Nyrk's inquisition, it seemed. And no vampire would be willing to employ his help. But what if...

No! That's deplorable, it would never work anyway. Would it? I should give it thought... if I slay vampires in the process, what would be the problem? It would be that many less vampires in the world would it not? What does it matter what method I used to dispatch them? Okay... I suppose I just may try it.

And now Nyrk had a plan. He would have to consort with the enemy. Here in warring New York, there are several clans, and just about all of them hate each other. Though Nyrk refused to turn himself as a vampire, perhaps a clan might take him as an assassin, a skirmisher, a bounty hunter, anything to give them the upper hand against their foes. At least then Nyrk wouldn't go it alone, or at the very least, be paid to do so. He would have to be careful, though, as if the clan required Nyrk be turned, well...

If I am turned, my God will forsake me. Then I'll be useless. An exorcist is useless without his God. So it is mandatory that I not be turned. But what if it is likewise mandatory I be turned before a clan will accept me as one of them? I'll have to refuse, undoubtedly, but once I do, no doubt, they'll immediately attack me. They would clearly have the upper hand, as they are many, and I am one. So the first clan I attempt to join will have to be the only shot I have...

A loud meow and a slight brush against his conciousness woke Darzel. He immeaditely shifted into shadow form and sent out his mind in a question to the cat that had woken him.

'stranger nearby' replied the cat's thoughts.

Darzel slipped through the small hole in the back of the box and directly into the shadows to avoid being detected as he went to see who had wandered too close as he slept.

((Edit: Would someone please jump in, Rp'ing alone almost all the time defeats the purpose.))
