The flaregun really isn't that great, it's more like a pre-flamethrower weapon.
Just to damage them a little so they die faster when you hit them with the thrower.

I love the flaregun. I have great aim with it. It's best if you have the axtinguisher with you too.

I always laugh and then tell them that they just failed when I kill a Pyro with a flaregun. xDD It's hilarious!!
I tend to either win Pyro vs Pyro fights. That...or we both die! xD

Gah i hate W+M1 pyros, My tactic is light em for as long as possible, air blast, run away and shoot flares you know, to keep the embers burnin.

Whats weird to me, is if I'm pyro and running backwards, and another pyro is running towards me, and we both start burning each other at the same time, I always die first.

Welwhen u run backwards, u run slower, so most likely his flame caught up to you first, that 1 sec is all it takes to determine a winner. My strategy is to completly avoid this situation and use the fire axe smile

That doesn't make any sense though, the fire doesn't have backwards momentum or anything like that, if anything I have a longer reach because the flam is spread out from me walking backwards, and his is shorter because it's collapsing back upon itself because he's running forward.
