Anima listened carefully. The thump was distracting, but then she heard the soft sound of a running pokemon. She waited patiently until Midnight was about to hit her. At the last moment, she slithered away as only a Furret could. As soon as she was safe, she bounced around, tongue out and tail wagging.
Renekai didn't hear the sound of impact, so she hazarded a shout of, "Good job, Anima! Now for a Flamethrower!"
Anima reared up onto her hind legs and opened her mouth wide. A spark appeared in her mouth and a moment later a stream of flames rushed into the field, lighting the thick darkness. Anima swiveled around until several feet all around her was scorched through before she cut off the flame.
She wiped her mouth with a paw. Smoky.

Midnight had missed, but that left him extremely vulnerable. He was far too close when the opponent was given the command to unleash a very hot attack at him. He tried to run away, but because he had been so close, there was no escape. The opponent probably got a good look at the Eevee's terrified expression as flame hit him. In the end, a bulk of the damage had occured upon the Eevee's tail, which was now quite singed.
"...that didn't look good..." LizDuck gulped, knowing her own Pokemon couldn't do such damage. At this point, her mind was so flustered, she just tossed out an attack without really thinking too hard about if it was the right move.
"Iron Tail!"
At least the Eevee knew where the other Pokemon was now. While running in that direction, his singed tail began to glow, and when he thought he was close enough, he swung his tail to try and hit the bigger Pokemon.

"Dynamicpunch!" called Renekai.
Anima darted around the glowing tail. It just barely missed her own tail as it streamed behind her, but she was safe. Anima then doubled back on her retreat and flung herself at the eevee very quickly. She aimed a punch at his side.

Once again, the younger of the Eevee twins was caught off guard when he missed with his tail. And the price would be costly. He felt a great force at his side, and soon enough he went flying in the air and tumbled onto the ground. Midnight didn't want to let his big brother down, but this battle looked like it was too tough. "Eevee vee..." he grunted out.
There was some sort of collision, and LizDuck still couldn't tell if it had been by her Pokemon or the other one.
"Ummm... good?" she called out into the darkness. "Let's try that one more time, Iron Tail."
Pushing himself back up to his feet, the silvery Pokemon could feel his legs shaking. He wouldn't last long. Pushing himself to move forward, he once more ran in the direction of the last attack and as his tail started to glow, he hoisted it where he thought he saw the shadow of the opponent.

"Focus Punch!" Renekai called. She wasn't sure how the battle was doing, so she had to just guess. She had hoped that the earlier Flamethrower might have caught something on fire and made it easier to see, but no such luck. The darkness soon extinguished the flames.
Anima leaped into the air, then twisted around to aim a punch while focusing her mind on her objective. It was hard for her to concentrate in such a way, being so hyper.

The force of the final blow was so powerful, it not only sent the little Pokemon flying, but it landed right in front of LizDuck to show the status of the battle.
Midnight was out for the count.
Pulling out the second Pokeball, she consoled the unconscious Pokemon with a simple "You did your best. Return!" The still new trainer sighed. That wasn't a good battle (on her end) at all. Heaving in a deep breath, she called over to the other side of the arena (which she still couldn't see) "That was a good battle. Thank you very much for battling with me!"
The idol did a small curtsy, despite the fact none could really see it.

When Renekai heard the faint voice drifting through the darkness that was as thick as pea soup, she grinned. So the battle was over? "Come back over here, Anima!" she called. She took out a pokeball and waited for her spunky furret to appear.
Anima bounced back towards her trainer's voice and leaped into the trainer's box, wagging her tail. "Fur!" she barked happily.
"Good girl! You and Evelyn have both earned a basketful of berries each!" Renekai returned her other pokemon to her pokeball and strolled out of the stadium. She would soon be almost blinded by the sudden light when she walked out the doors, which would cause her to drop almost all of her pokeballs. Then chaos would reign while she tried to collect her energetic friends.
But until then, Renekai had a few more seconds to bathe in victory.
