Ekwueme laughed as the cool wind blew past him and as the snow silently left his pawprints behind him. He was certainly enjoying himself at this moment and time, and he could speed up still a little more, which he did.

Renesmee sped up too so that they continued to run side by side. She wondered how long this could go on before one of them pulled further ahead than the other one could.

Ekwueme smiled over at Renesmee as she ran by him. he didn't feel any need to speed up at this point, and he wondered how long they could go.

He wasn't speeding up and she wondered whether he couldn't or if he was just being nice by letter her run ahead. Or maybe it didn't matter at all. It wasn't really a race, after all. She slowed so she was beside him again and smiled back. "This is really fun!"

He flashed another grin at her when they were running the same pace again. Nodding, he lightly panted. "Yeah, it is." He looked up at the sky, how late in the night it had gotten, and he could only guess at how much time was left before sunrise.

She followed his gaze to the sky and then began to slow her pace even more as she marveled at the night sky. So many stars, and the moon was very bright tonight. She was panting lightly from running and her air came out in little puffs of visible breath. Finally she slowed until she was at a complete stop. "It's very pretty. I wonder if we can see any constellations up there."

He slowed his pace as she slowed hers, not wanting to seem rude by going ahead of her. His own puffs of breath seemed to mesh slightly with hers and he smiled softly. "well, I see the Ursa Major." He pointed it out

Renesmee found the constellation soon after he pointed it out and smiled. "Oh yeah, sure enough." It was fun to be able to see patterns in the sky. Ursa Major was the constellation with the asterism The Big Dipper in it. If she remembered right, finding two stars in The Big Dipper would help her to find the North Star, Polaris.
She lifted her paw to point also, pointing at the two stars she thought were the right ones. "Aren't those the pointer stars? They should point to the North Star." She followed the direction of the two stars and then exclaimed when she had found what she thought was Polaris. "Ah, there! Polaris, right?"

(sorry for my lack of time/muse and crappy replies)
Ekwueme followed where she pointed with his eyes, watching her change from one constellation to the next with ease. With each correct thing she pointed out he nodded lightly. "Yes, that would be correct."

She lowered her paw and continued to stare at the North star for awhile. She would always be able to find her way if she could find Polaris. She knew that the stars changed their positions from time to time, depending on the Earth's rotation, but Polaris was always directly overhead. Unless it changed however because of the Earth's tilt on its axis. She wondered if this was true. "Do you think Polaris will always be the north star, or does it change?" This would be something she'd have to read about. Her knowledge of the stars was from her reading about it from books her father had given her. Knowing the Heavens helps you to know the Earth as well, or at least that's what Flame had said.
