"Don't give up," Japi said, putting her hand on Sekenre's shoulder firmly. "I know it hasn't worked lately, but I'll keep an eye out for any sign of her too. If there's someone out there that knows where she is, I can find out. Just promise not to try alone again, okay?" She knew the request could not be completely obeyed, but she could try anyways.

Sekenre broke out of his stupor. "Right, I'll talk to the druid. I'll be by my mirror outside if you would be so kind to let Addy know that we'll be starting."
Sekenre gave a slight bow to Japi and headed out the door to a large shady tree. He leaned against the tree and began mouthing something to it.

That poor boy, Japi thought as he walked off. He'd spent his whole life looking for his sister, to no avail. She was beginning to think he was right, but couldn't in her heart tell him that. She had to keep his spirits up. As he headed for the foyer, Japi turned about to check on her kids in the backyard.
"Hey you two," she called out when she got to the back door.

To the tree he said "Krillo, when you get this, seek me out. Travel through your forests and come to Gaia, to Japi's house if you can find it. If it is too much trouble to find her, find me. We need to speak."
I hope he responds quickly...

Lilly jumped up when she heard her mother's voice. "Mommy!" she exclaimed and dashed to her to give her a hug. "Uncle Sekenre brought us home today."

"I know," Japi replied, returning her daughters hug with equal force. "I just got through talking to him. We're going to look for a tutor for your abilities, just like Addy. It's just harder to find somebody for your unique talents."

Addy walked up to her mother, not making a motion to hug her, like her sister had, but she still stood comfortably close.
"Time for tutoring?" she asked, not sounding as disappointed as she would have for any other kind of tutoring.

"Yup," Japi answered her daughter's question while forcing a one-armed hug on her. "Your Uncle Sekenre's waiting in the front yard for you."

Addy consented to the hug before going back through the house to the front door.
She walked up behind Sekenre who was facing a tree and proceeded to attempt to startle him. "Boo!"

Sekenre was tempted to perform a transmutation and show Addy what scary is, but decided to use her failed attempt to form a lesson.
Child if you are ever to attempt to scare, sneak, or follow anyone with am iota of psionic abilities, you must suppress and mask your own thoughts.

Adriana's toothy grin turned into a pursed frown quickly. "And how am I supposed to do that?" she asked him. "Other people don't have the courtesy enough to do it for me." She crossed her arms defiantly. "Every time I walk in a room full of people I get a headache. Not to mention the screeching sound of anybody with any kind of emotion backing their thoughts."

Sekenre was staring up into the tree, "Other people dont' have the abilities we do. They are unaware of their thoughts. It is not they who should have restraint, it is you. Just because you can doesn't mean you should."
Sekenre turned and face her. "I know you pry into peoples minds. Don't think i haven't found you snooping in mine. I was just waiting for now to bring it up; away from your mother."

Addy just looked down at the ground. She was half mad at him for brining it up, half relieved he hadn't told her mother. "I can't help it. When I hear something interesting I can't help but listen." She hooked onto a grass runner with a foot and yanked it up. "And sometimes silence is the most interesting thing of all."
It was true she'd pried, on many occasion into the mind of someone she couldn't hear. When she was younger, she didn't realize it was detectable, and by the time she realized it could be, she was already nearly addicted to it. Sometimes she could get in, other times she couldn't. It was those she could never read that frustrated her the most.

"Sit." The word carried more command than concern.
"If you are ever to block out the thoughts of others, or the prying minds of psions, then you must still you own mind."
Sekenre slid down the tree so that he was sitting and leaning against it. With a burst of blue flame, he materialized a satchel. He began to carefully rummage through it. "Ah here we go.."
He produced a sheet of paper covered in intricate calligraphy. "Thoughts are like written words. They work together to form larger works, but," he produced and ink well and splashed a few drops of in across the page, "if you are not careful of your stray thoughts, it ruins the piece."
Sekenre put the well down and took a blotter out of the bag. "We first need to control your stray thoughts." He began to repair the damage to the page. "And over time you will have developed a mental defense that may even pose a challenge to me." At this point he had finished the repairs and was holding up the page again. If you were to look at the text is was covered with "Lead. Rock. Iron. Metal. Stone. Indestructible." Blue flame engulfed the page and when he let go it plummeted to the ground and made a small crater.

Adriana was mesmerized by the display. She only finally spoke after the crater was formed, though it still took her a moment to compose her words. "How am I supposed to quiet my own mind?" she asked Sekenre. "We've already tried meditation. Daddy helped me, but even he still had thoughts." But still, she sat down.
