Gal took her own gun and, when the bell rang, aimed it at her target. It was harder than it looked, and by the time she got the gun steadied several of the little monkies were much further along than hers. Nevertheless, she doggedly shot at her little target.

It wasn't so much the recoil that was Rook's problem but the angel though it only took a second to correct the stream of water shooting from his gun. He guessed it was becuase the drums hit at different angels made different sound and he'd learned to adjust over the last few weeks.

His crimson eyes narrowed as he focused on his target. paying little attention to the others.

The whistle blew and a boy about three seats down won the prize. It had been a fun game nevertheless, and Galleai smiled sweetly at Rook, instinctively reaching for his hand. It was comforting in such a crowded place. "What should we do next?"

Rook gently held Gall's hand, it was different from holding a paw or petting her tail when they were dreaming together but the contact was still nice. Gall was very much like family to him , consistent in his life, friendly and a comforting presence.

" How about that" He suggested and point a few feet away where some people of all ages were bouncing brightly coloured ping pong balls off of a counter and tries to get them into marked bowls to win prizes that hung from the top of the tent or brightly coloured fish that happened to be inside some of the bowls the balls could land in. it looked harder than the previous game but also pretty fun since the balls seemed to bounce more where they wanted then where anyone playing the game wanted, at least at the moment.

Nodding in agreement, Galleai inspected the fish game. "Yes, that looks like fun." She said, palming the little balls once the game master handed them out. Tucking a strand of lighter colored hair behind one of her feathered ears she tried a tentative bounce, the ball landing on on the table and rolling off, not even hitting a bowl.

Rook's first shot was mildly better having bounced his ball between two of the tightly packed fish bowls" it's harder than it looks" he admitted. it hadn't looked overall easy to begin with but between getting the right amount of bounce on the ball and aiming there was a lot of room for error.

For once Rook wished for his little sister's eyes they were sharper than his own and probably could have calculated the distance better, not to mention his three fingered hands didn't always have the same grip as those with the average amount.

"You can do it." Galleai encouraged him, her next shot landed in a bowl, but not one worth enough points for a prize. "I'm sure you can do it, Rook." She smiled faintly, her gaze wandering out over the crowd and the brightly lit carnival, it's lights reflecting on the dark water.

Rook nodded slowly a little more confident than before, he didn't really know if he could do it but it was nice someone had confidence in him. The person running the game seemed totally uninterested in him as though having already dismissed a child's possible skill. Focusing and trying to remember how he'd manged to do reasonably well the first time Rook bounced his second ball.

The light blue sphere arched high into the air and looked like it would have the same fate as the previous one falling between two bowls. instead it ricochet of a rim and plopped into a bowl containing a startled fish. Rook was just a shocked he'd not been expecting this, he'd only been hoping to win a stuff animal.

When the equally surprised game runner handed him fancy looking purple and blue fish he looked over at Gal. The fish reminded him a bit of her, and he wasn't sure he was even allowed a pet at home and he had missed being able to give her something at christmas" Would you like to keep it?" The boy had no clue if the fish was male or female.

Galleai didn't really have any posessions of her own. Everything that was hers was also the coven's. The prospect of having a little fish to care for appealed to her, though. Her eyes widened a bit as she took the fish and then broke into a big smile, giggling. "Thank you, Rook. I love it."

Rook smiled " I'm glad, um merry late Christmas." It felt good to give his friend a present. Rook then looked at the fish, then Gall and then finally at the nearby the rides " I don't think you can take a fish on those maybe they'll hold it for you" he said thoughtfully.

Nodding, Gal eyed the other rides. Some of them were big and scary looking. She did not like the look of that rollercoaster, for example. Everyone on it was screaming and the whole thing sort of swayed back and forth dangerously. "What would you like to ride?" She asked, hoping he didn't pick something that went upside down.

" I Think I'd actually like to get something to eat " Rook admitted " We can share a cotton candy or something else they have here. " The boy wasn't starving so much as a little hungry and that was urged on by the delicious smells wafting all over the place enticing him and encouraging him to pick at least one of them and follow it to it's source

Galleai didn't eat often. Certainly not as often as she should. Then again, she rarely thought about food and hadn't even noticed the enticing odors coming from the various food stalls. But she paused and sniffed the air obediently, and her eyes widened. Something smelled good! Unerringly, her head turned towards a stall selling elephant ears and funnel cakes and deep fried twinkies. "Can we have something from there?"

Rook turned his head in the same direction and inhaled deeply, it smelled warm, though he didn't know how, and sweet and just overall good " Ok, it smells pretty good, should taste good" in his experience the boy had never tasted a food he didn't like that hadn't smelled bad to him first.

He walked with Gall over to the stall and looked at her while they waited in line " What should we get ." Everything he saw and smelled looked good and he'd never had any of it before. " Oh and we can get a drink to share too if we get two straws." That would just about deplete the boy's money but Rook wasn;t horribly bothered he was having a lot more fun with his friend aroudn than he would have on his own.

Her eyes roamed over the plethora of deliciousness that faced them. Galleai wasn't a big fan of junk food, not that she'd had much opportunity. But something about the party atmosphere made the fried goods smell incredible. "Oh," she sighed, pointing to a child carrying a steaming funnel cake piled high with whipped cream and strawberries and powdered with sugar. "Can we have one of those?"
