Voodoo nodded, a quick flick of the head that could just be barely contrived as actually being a 'nod.' Tail flick, miniscule ear twitch, eyes narrowing on the gray female thoughtfully for a moment. Clearly, she didn't like the idea of him slinking off after she had been so charitable. Voodoo had to admit, it probably was poor of him. He paused a moment in his plans, repicking his way through his actions and words before he shifted, turning as if to edge from the clearing.
"I suppose if you would prefer my company, I could remain," he offered, tone unsure, ears flicking back uneasily; warily. "But I was under the impression..." He didn't finish the sentence. He was sure Kal knew what sort of impressions he'd been under. Let her ask for his company if she would prefer it, if not -- well, the movement was on her side, now. Let her choose her own route; he'd rather not make enemies so early into the game.

"I understand the impression you were under," she said, her tone almost snappish. There was just something about him that wasn't quite right, Kal could smell it. But what exactly? It was that that she was trying to figure out. Now, since he went to leave but then suddenly changed his mind and offered to stay, she was beginning to grow a bit suspicious.
"I cannot make you go, I cannot make you stay. Either way is suitable for me. Take your pick." She was stubborn and unwilling to make a decision. "If you wish to stay, be my guest, I'm going to finish eating. If you wish to leave..."
Voodoo should've understood that the gray she-wolf was neither going to make him stay or leave.

Voodoo shifted, one ear cocked in her direction, the other swiveling uncertainly from the edge of the trees, forward, and then back again. Female intuition, he noted darkly to himself, tail flicking irritably. "In that case, I suppose I'll go. Have matters to attend to: digging holes, catching squirrels, that sort of thing." He nodded, sliding toward the edge of the trees: a shadow flitting quickly through the mottle sunshine of the small clearing.
The male paused momentarily on the edge of the brush, glancing back toward the gray she-wolf. "Perhaps we'll meet again, Kal; under more...respectable circumstances." Voodoo offered a vauge, small nod, before he turned to melt back into the trees. In a moment, the small wolf was gone, leaving Kal the the end of her meal.
