"Watch it." he snapped, backing away. The pup was far too comfortable with physical contact for his liking. After a moment, he decided... the pup wanted something that he didn't happen to have. Joy. He shook a paw, ready to knock the pup over and roll him away if he came close again. Softly, of course. He grumbled, backing away some more. "Waah!" he said in surprise when his foot fell down the rabbit hole. He managed to get his foot back out and he glared at the pup, as if daring him to laugh. He snorted, knocking some dirt into the cave and trotted off. He didn't like it when he was made fun of, and even though the pup wasn't laughing, Dahlmir expected him to.

The pup had to clamp his maw shut to keep from laughing, but he managed to only let out a giggle. He then trotted back over to him and sat down, looking at his underbelly again. He wanted milk and regurgitated food. He opened his maw wide, waiting.

Dahlmir stopped a few ways off to stretch. Bad mistake. The pup came for him again! His looks were making him uncomfortable and he shifted some. When the pup opened his mouth again, his brows furrowed. "What? I don't know what you want!" he shoved a paw in the pup's mouth. "Say something!" he yelled. He was used to communication and the sudden lack of it angered him. It was fine before. The pup's needs were quite obvious, but then he just got more confusing. He didn't want the rabbit that was offered to him and he just kept going around asking for food. The pup ate the bird before so he was sure he was capable of eating some normal meat. What was he? Picky? Well, he wasn't just going to go around hunting for it. He grabbed it's midsection, his fangs digging in slightly because of his anger. He would just find some other helix to take the pup in and curse his conscience for the rest of his life.

He whined and made a small gagging noise to try and demonstrate what he meant when the paw landed in his mouth. He whined behind it, unable to breathe well. He struggled and began to yipe loudly when the fans grabbed his tiny mid-drift. He was easy to hold, but he felt like he was going to be be bit through. He snarled and truned, tyring to snap at Dahlmir's face.

Dahlmir ignored the struggling pup whose attempts were nothing. Because of the way he was holding Myrkur, the pup was unable to reach him. He ran through the forest, speeding up when he reached the plains. The land was still wet and slippery and he had a hard time balancing. He slowed to a walk, looking around. A soft sprinkle started and he was dissapointed to see no other helixes nearby. He look around and went over to a cave. It looked like it would be a nice den. He plopped Myrkur down and said, "Just stay here. I'm sure some nice helix seeking shelter from the rain will find you."

He shook off and blinked at Dahlmir, whining. His side hurt and he was winded from the running. He snorted and listened...memories flashed across his head again.
A cave....fire...being carried like prey...being dropped off. 'Stay here, Myrkur..' He gave the most horrified expression and yelped madly, running to Dahlmir's side and whining, barking pitifully. He wanted him to stay! He was going to leave him here, like his dad had. He charged and grabbed the older helix's tail, pulling on it and sitting down, trying to act like an anchor, whimpering loudly, eyes clenched shut.

Dahlmir watched the pup for a few moments more before leaving. He felt sorry for it, of course he did, but Myrkur would be better off with someone who could provide his needss instead him. He was impatient and angered easily. If that wasn't bad enough, he didn't he'd even touched a pup before now. He tensed his muscles, readying himself to run for it and to not go back this time. He darted for a few feet and stopped, his tail crasing into him. "What...?" he said, looking back. He saw the pup clamped onto his tail as if for dear life and he shook it slightly. "I thought you wanted food." he grumbled. "Stay there and you'll get it." he said, trying to coax Myrkur away.

He was whining madly, holding his tail tightly, shaking as he pulled back, giving him a look that pleaded 'don't leave me here!' He pulled again and again, walking to his side, tail in his mouth, and giving Dahlmir's neck a little lick.

"At least let go of my tail." Dahlmir grumbled. His fur bristled with impatience as he said, "Don't worry. Someone better than me will find you." He almost laughed when the pup licked him as he was sure that only resulted in a mouthful of fur. Leaning down, he nibbled Myrkur's side, trying to tickle him into releasing his tail. "Someone should really teach you that chocolate is poisonous." he said.

He panted at the tickles, thinking that his new friend was just trying to make him laugh. He let go of the tail, spitting fur from his maw as he sat between his front legs, rolling over and pawing at his face.

Dahlmir, amused by the pups actions, started batting him around again so that he rolled a bit. He chuckled lightly. The pup always looked so hilarious with his small paws waving around in the air. Although he supposed he shouldn't do that. Might teach the pup to me submissive in the future. He frowned, his thoughts conflicting. Do what he wanted for his own amusement or leave the pup alone? Hmm. His blinked in surprise when one of Myrkur's paws whacked him in the muzzle and he growled playfully, rolling him around again. He almost laughed out loud. The pup reminded him of a small log.

He barked again as he rolled, springing to his feet and running at Dahlmir. He jumped, landing on his back legs and bit the older helix on the ear, growling and pulling playfully. He seemed much more energetic now that his friend was staying and playing with him.

Dahlmir was still surprised with his desicion but he suddenly had a desire to stick with it for once. He wasn't really goal oriented as he lost interest in most things in a small amount of time but, the pup.... His train of thought was lost when the small thing leaped at him, tugging at his ear. "Oh, you wanna play rough, do you?" he smirked, dipping his head low so that Myrkur would fall off. He blinked. Did he just say that? Now he was considering soft tugs on his ear rough? He could see why others said being a parent was hard. He frowned, losing interest in the playing, and sat with his tail curled around his paws. If he was a parent now, what would he teach Myrkur? And taking the pup would be a problem for him. He was more of a vagabond than anything and his constant travels and theivery would not suit the life of a pup. Again he felt the desire to stick with the pup and his brow furrowed as he thought. He could use the pup to his advantage. Get others to trust him easier. How could one with a pup as small as Myrkur be a theif after all. Yes, that was what he'd do.

Even though the big helix didn't want to play anymore, Myrkur still did! He jumped at his side, headbutting him. He barked madly, giving a small instance of what his voice might sound like, like when a mute person laughed or coughed or sneezed.
He ran circles around his new 'mommy' and then began to wriggle under his belly again, still hungry for milk. This was gunna be a lot of work.

At first, Dahlmir ignored the insistent pup as he mused over his own thoughts. His ears flickered every once in a while and it was only when the pup cuddled up to him did he finally turn to look at him. "Hey, you should know better than that by now." he sighed, batting the pup away. He was sure he could tolerate Myrkur most of the time but living most of his life as a theif had made him more sensitive when it came to protecting himself and, well, his stomach was the least guarded. He waved his tail around and thumped it on the dirt instead, in an attempt to get the pup away from forepaws. Now that he thought about it, the pup had an odd liking to going near his stomach and he glanced at Myrkur nervously.
