Vinny smiled at his new friend. "Okay!" He said, lightly tapping her with his hand before taking off. "You're it!" He called. He naturally decided that girls should be It first. It was the rule. They were faster than he was, generally. He thought it was because of his tail. How he wished he didn't have one...

'Zuba gave a faint smile before crouching, looking rather predatory. Her eyes locked on her prey, and she was off, running after him in leaps and bounds. While her usual behavior made her seem lethargic and laid-back, that was far from the truth. She was quickly closing in on the boy.
Stasia walked through the gates of the park, wrapped up in a fleece-lined park. She looked around quickly; 'Zuba was supposed to be here.

Vinny ran as fast as he could, but he was tagged. He turned around and faced her, waiting for her to run. It never came into his mind to chase Joshua, who was coming down the slide.
Ben spotted Stasia and waved at her. "Stasia!" He said in greeting. "She's just over there." He pointed. "I gave her my jacket."

'Zuba turned on heel, starting to run. She then froze, her eyes falling on the adult she knew as Mother. She immediately frowned, tensing up. What was she doing here, away from her precious twins? Playtime was over.
Stasia ran over to Ben, looking in the direction he pointed. "Thanks, Benny-boy....I owe you one." she said before jogging over towards her daughter.

Vinny stopped, looking at 'Zuba. He turned to see what his new friend was looking at. "Your mommy?" He asked, frowning. "She came to find you like Josh said! You were lost!"
Ben shook his head. He didn't need any thanks. He was happy to see 'Zuba with her mother.

'Zuba shook her head. "Wasn't lost." she said calmly. "Knew where I was." She glanced at Vincent, shrugging. Why on Gaia was he frowning? She then looked back to her mother, her face as blank as a new sheet of paper.
Stasia ran over, hugging her daughter tightly. "'Zuba, I was so worried! I didn't know where you were, and oh! I'm so glad to see you're ok-" She cut herself off, blinking as she was pushed away.
"Stop lying." 'Zuba said, frowning at her mother. Her hands formed fists at her side, gripping the coat in them. She let out a frustrated breath, deciding to elaborate at the confused look on Mother's face. Ugh; didn't she understand anything?
"Wanted better kids." 'Zuba started, staring dead at her mother. "Adopted twins to replace me. Took me back to that place...want me gone! I won't go! No!" She was yelling now, tears slowly starting to well up. "Won't take you! My mother, mine!" It was clear to see that a break-down or a tantrum was about to happen. Uh-oh.

Vinny took one look at Stasia and said, "'Zuba ran away." He felt he should tell her before his friend got too upset. He was concerned for his older friend with the winged ear so much like his own.

Stasia barely nodded at the toddler's words; she already knew that. Instead, she focused on her daughter. She brushed the child's hair away from her face, looking at her. "Baby doll, I'd never want you gone! You're my 'Zuba." she said, serious. "And I would NEVER replace you! You know that, don't you?"
'Zuba shook her head, crying now. "They stole you! Stole you! Not fair!" she yelled, her voice near hysterics. She'd pulled her arms out of the coat sleeves, hugging her arms. "Not fair!"
Stasia, for once, knew exactly what to do. She hugged 'Zuba, picking girl up and holding her securely. She then looked to Vincent. "I don't think 'Zuba will be playing much today, kidlet." she said, offering an apologetic smile.

Vinny nodded. He understood this as well as any toddler could. His friend had made her mommy sad, and her mommy wanted her back home. He couldn't even imagine what his Mommy would do if he ran away. Maybe she'd even cry. He didn't like to think about that.
"Bye 'Zuba! Maybe you can come over and play with me soon! Bye-bye Zuba's Mommy!" He said.
