Vincent's brows raised momentarily, as he was surprised the small girl had survived the Crimson Butterfly. He grinned as he felt the demonic power course through his veins, and watched in amusement as Nadia lay motionless on the floor of her confinement, taking short, shuddering breaths.
Her survival had surprised him, and he thought to himself whether it would be better to dispose of her, or if she could prove to be of more use to him.
"Well now, let's have you tested, demon." he muttered, "If you're not demon in any way, then you may be more use to me..." he added, and nodded to his assistants.
"Have her taken to lab 40..." he ordered, smirking to see their startled faces. Lab 40 hadn't been used since the disposal of the first demon...

Was it that sweet aroma floating through the air that distracted Shinji so? Or was it simply the fact that his life long dream, his reason for co-existing with the FDC was standing in front of him, speaking with him, asking him questions and conversing. Shinji should have been infuriated, and on looking back on this moment in the future, he often wonders what didn't send him over the edge at this very point. He stood in front of him, the creature, the beast that slaughtered his family in cold blood.
But he remained calm, mildly becoming entranced by some outside factor. He stared deeply into Ky's eyes as he told him of his nervousness. Although Shinji mouthed the phrase "Who's nervous..?", no sound came from his lips. He realized clearly that something was wrong, that his perception was being altered in some way, but the blue in his eyes kept him fixed in his place. The...Absolute softness, the tenderness of this creature before him was magnificent, and Shinji quickly found his mind trailing backwards in time. A time when gentle fingers probed through his black hair, a time when laughs filled the air, a time of...Softness.
But just as Ky had ended it, so had Shinji, his mind coming a step clearer as he heard his voice ask him who he was. With much effort, he tried to focus, tried to act uninfluenced.
He hadn't even realized that Ky had moved, but when he concentrated, he saw now that there was only about a yard's distance between them. It was too close for an attack and too far for an escape. Shinji would have to either continue stalling, or try his luck with fighting him but...He knew he didn't have the will power to fight Ky.
The attraction to Ky and the moment at hand distracted him from the girl he had been with, and he didn't notice that she had awaken. His full attention was on Ky, whether he wanted it to be or not it seemed.
Finally, he answered
"I'm...The one who's going to kill you"

Pain, mankind will know pain. For their crimes, on our kind, they'll never be the same. Death, they will know death. Suffering, for centuries, at war with every breath.Somewhere in the back of his mind, Ky was allowing the moments to tick by, counting them silently. It was something he used to do when he was alone in the elevators....or when he was in a compromising situation.
This, hopefully, wasn't either of those and Ky stopped counting just before the FDC's wonder boy gave his answer. The one who would kill him? A slow smile pulled at Ky's lips, drawing them into a thin line which suggested it strained him to make such a face.
"Really, Shinji?" he questioned softly, his piercing blue eyes focused on the dear agent in front of him. His smile cracked into a grin.
"Shouldn't you buy me dinner first?" The question was lighthearted, the demon leaning in close rather suddenly. His lips hovered an inch or so from his adversary's, before the demon abruptly leapt back about six feet.
"I suggest you grow up a bit more, Shinji Sonsaku. Then we can talk about you killing me. In the meantime...I suggest you get ready for dinner. Show up here tonight, after sunset, alone, or I will take the lives of the next fifty FDC members who venture out of your complex." He canted his head, "Wear something nice."
The demon laughed, soon leaping up onto a nearby building, heading back to some unspecified location via rooftop. He assumed he would not be followed- unless Alexandra showed off she was half demon they wouldn't have the sheer speed to keep up with him.
It was good, being a demon. The blood of the gods is still fresh on my clothes.

I, too, sing America I am the darker brother. They send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes. But I laugh, and I eat well And grow strong.Vincent's threatening words fell on deaf ears. Nadia was still sensory-deprived, leaving her eyes to stare at a wall of white while a high ring filled her ears. The pain was beginning to dull, she thought, or perhaps she was losing the ability to feel? She couldn't be sure, and soon she stopped trying to understand the mottled sensations in her mind which were the product of her scrambled input synopses.
Her first awareness started to return when she felt her arms being tugged. She was on something cold. It was possible she'd been falling in and out of consciousness, though she was the worst one to ask how long that had been going on. Slowly, her eyes opened. For a moment she believed that she was still blind...but then she became aware that she was simply staring up at a bright white light.
All of a sudden her senses came back to her. She took in a deep breath, her muscles twitching violently as they became aware of their bindings. She was strapped down to a gurney, by what she wasn't sure, and she felt incredibly weak. The ringing in her ears had gone away, replaced by the eerie sound of something running. Something was making it impossible to move her head.
She wanted to scream, but could only mouth her protest. The fear was too much, and she thrashed as much as she could, like some frightened animal unable even to harm itself due to an expert handler's hold.
Help! she thought desperately, Oh please, God, someone help me! And I weep for you...my soul.

Date? Ky was.. odd to say the least. 'Oh, yes. I'm supposed to kill you, but let's have dinner shall we? Wot wot?' By the demon made his exit, which was her undeniable cue to collect herself and stand. The dust from the ground rose with her, collected on the side of her jeans, tank top, jacket, and face, which she didn't even bother to brush away. She turned to Shinji, just staring for the most part.
"Sh.. Shinji Sonsaku?" she said as she walked towards him. She untied the jacket from around her waist, the FDC badge clipped to her belt shining in the morning light as it was revealed to the officer. The thin, velvet wings pressed tightly to her back felt like they were burning, and it would be all the better to hide them under another layer of clothing, even if she was just being impractical at this point. She shrugged on the jacket, untucking the hood from inside the neckline, and stared towards the dark-haired teenager across from her. Of course, now she had to think of something to say. You know.. start conversation.
"What.. just happened?"

"Ky..."
He said. And that's the only thing he did say, as he watched him glide away through the rooftops. Just a streak in the now approaching noon sky, his prize, drifting away before his very eyes. Perhaps he thought only his words could catch him, for his muscles felt week, his perception blurred. But feeling was starting to fade back. Shinji was creeping back to life.
When he heard a voice behind him, his thoughts shattered. The spell that seemed to grip him faded almost instantaneously. It was if waking from a dream. Straightening the collar on his white dress shirt, Shinji turned to face the girl he had seen with Ky. It was apparent now that she was FDC, and that she was the one meant to rendezvous with him. His hues met hers, an annoyed expression.
"We just let him slip away..That's what happened."
His voice was cool, and collected, not at all the assertive, commanding tone he had taken just a few moments ago. He should be outraged, and he was, but some memory kept tugging the back of little Shinji's mind. A phrase, not significant in face value, but said with tone and mannerisms that brought a touch of nostalgia Shinji couldn't dare forget.
Or was it...Remember?
"Shinji...Who are you?
Planets dangle above him, stationary playthings suspended by wires of plastic. The bars surrounding him..Cliche? Even as a child he wondered so. The music, pouring from the other room. He remembered. It was soft music. Soft...Music. So~oft...
Shinji bit his lip, drawing blood and wincing. Now was not the time for such day dreaming. He thought about what Ky had said. 'Tonight, after sunset, alone'. He thought he was calling the shots? Foolish. Underestimation seemed to be the most major error when fighting Shinji. Ky would soon realize this.
After taking that brief moment to collect his thoughts, Shinji turned back around to Alex. He had some questions he wanted answering.
"So, did you think I wasn't going to ask why you were out here conversing with enemy's leader?"

Averting Shinji's eyes at his response, she didn't seem to notice the lapse of concentration in his features, instead noticing the almost icy tone his voice took. This, she reminded herself, was the part where her playing was vital. Necessary. Tricking the FDC. How long would it last though? They'd recently found a few half-demons among their ranks. How long til she was ratted out? Her features were subtle, sure.. but they'd find a way. At this stage, her paranoia was necessary.
Alexandra shifted her weight, eyes still off on some distant object when Shinji's voice startled her with it's coolness, the question he posed dangerous. But for some reason, it alighted her with a sense of.. relief.
Finally. she thought with a sigh, seeming to hang her head for a moment. I can tell the truth.
"I had come groundside earlier, and circled around here. I was headed back when someone approached me." she shoved her hands in her jacket pockets, down, down, down, till the jacket became taut. .. Or not. looking up, her eyes were openly filled with a guilted, let-down expression. Acting, and sort of telling the truth all at the same time...
I hate this.
"I didn't.. recognize who it was at first. When I did, it was already too late."
As her eyes met his, she bit her lip and her shoulders drooped and shrugged all at the same time. She mumbled an apology, a guilty 'sorry' that she hoped wasn't so sincere it might draw Shinji's concern.
