Chuckling, Axel was even surprised when he said something. It wasn't that hard to guess but just in case, he didn't want to be wrong. Listening to her, the stallion wondered which of the two it really was. He really had spent a lot of time with her but he really didn't mind that. "Uh huh." Axel was rather content with himself considering what he just had to go through.
"Oh?" Of course, he had to be wrong somehow. "Really? I'm surprised. I definitely thought you would think differently of me because of that encounter." Axel shrugged tiredly knowing that he was being sincere.
So far, Axel had taken this much better than he had expected. It was actually really nice to have Seraphia there for him. She provided... extra support for him and gave him a slight confidence booster. He was lucky.

He seemed to be more or less alright. He acted similarly during their first meeting, though not right when they had first met. She could not assume it was entirely bad just yet. He simply had a lot on his mind was all. She would keep her eyes on him for now and make sure nothing grew to be more problematic. Until everything fell apart or cleared it was best to just keep up the conversation. Silence was dull and lonely after all.
She laughed lightly and began stepping towards him. "I do of course." She responded with a little nod of her head. "It is not bad though." She moved to press her cheek against him with a little smile. She wasn't going to tell him exactly what had changed. Oh no, that would make the change rather pointless.
She had been unable to push it completely to the back of her mind, what he had said. It had given Seraphia a goal. To make him say how he cared about her. He had said that to the brown tramp so she could see no reason why she would never hear it and she wanted to. She got what she wanted.

There were a lot of things on his mind. He probably shouldn't think that much but he just couldn't help it.
"Oh? Care to share the reasons for your new thoughts on me?" Axel was curious to know but he hated to pry. She would tell him when she wanted but that didn't stop him from asking. The stallion chuckled light heartedly after she said it wasn't bad. He had changed since he met Wica... Back then, all he could think was that he was doomed for horrible things but now... he had a much more optimistic outlook on life.
For some reason, Axel felt like Seraphia was hiding a lot from him. He really could read others very well, uncannily well. He hoped that the things she was keeping from him were... trivial and unimportant but he hadn't known her long enough to make that assumption. She seemed... a lot more wild then she had been acting and he was very curious to see that side of her. "So, would you like to join me for a walk Phia? Or do you have better things to do?"

She was rather amused that he asked but she only shook her head slowly, a little smirk on her face in response. It would be a problem if he knew really. She would keep it secret until the goal was met, though it may be a long time. She frowned at the thought. If it took too long she would say it, probably.
"I have things to do, of course Fire Spike." She said pulling back a somewhat mischievous smile returning to her face. She imagined these little games of hers caused people trouble but she did not care all that much. Even though they were short they provided a little entertainment. After a long pause she turned her head a way and let out a short laugh. "But I should mention that these things are hardly important and can wait." She tilted her head to the side and peered at Axel through a curtain of her mane. "Where shall we go?"

Shrugging, Axel didn't mind that she didn't want to tell him. He knew he would find out whatever in good time. "Of course you do. I don't want to waste your precious time." Listening to laugh, Axel was a little mesmerized. He wasn't sure why that had caught his attention so quickly but... he liked it.
"Well. I know I've been stuck in that forest for a long time but I do have some spots of my own. Let's go?" He was thinking about a small clearing where he had encountered his little flutter friend, Chitsa. The stallion nodded his head in an eastward direction pointing out where they would go. "It's a quaint little place. I think I remember how to get there." Smirking slightly, Axel began walking in the direction he had motioned to wondering if she would come with him or not.
He had been meaning to go back and see Chitsa, the only person that really cared about him before Wica, but he always seemed to stop himself. Even though it might be buried deep within him, Axel did somewhat have pride and he didn't want Chitsa to think that he had chickened out and decided to go home.

She smiled coolly at him. She wasn't entirely sure he could waste her time unless he got them lost. In which case she would demand that he find them a way out. At the most she would lose a day. Her eyes narrowed at the thought. A day was a bit much, she would have to make sure that he did not lead them anywhere the had no way out.
"Spots?" She questioned setting her 'not get lost' plan firmly in place. Somehow the word 'spot' sent an image of a black patch before her eyes. "Dark spots?" She followed after him like a loyal dog. She did not much want to go anywhere that lacked light ever again even if she was positive her target was inside.
It was not that the dark scared her. It was just that she could not see and felt completely useless without her eyes. She could not bare being useless. It would be beyond shameful to her parents if their daughter had no reason to be living.

He couldn't help but chuckle. "Well, yes. Spots. But none of them dark. If you do not trust me, you could decide what we do." Axel shrugged and halted to a stop; it's not like they had to do anything. He was slightly amused by Seraphia's actions but he understood. The darkness was not something to be toyed with.
There were things that Axel didn't understand and one of those things was his feelings. What did he feel about Seraphia? After Wica left, Axel had closed off his feelings long ago but Phia was making him feel things he hadn't felt even with Wica. He wanted to be able to open up again but things were... different this time. But, Phia might not even like him that way so he shouldn't think of things like that.
Sighing to himself, Axel didn't even want to think of things like that right now but these thoughts couldn't help but lurk in the back of his thoughts. He turned his focus to Phia and looked her over thinking about everything.

A sigh of relief got caught in her throat. She was torn between the joyous feeling that came knowing that they were not heading somewhere dark and the slight hurt that he would think she didn't trust him. It was not really him that she didn't trust. It was the things in the world that did not behave themselves in her presence that she didn't. The corners of her mouth turned downward as her mind began to turn without her permission.
Several leaps and bounds supported by nothing at all she found herself faced with the thought that he said this because he simply did not want her around. Her eyes narrowed in anger for a moment. When she blinked her eyes had drifted to the ground no longer angry at all but matched the frown she wore well. If he didn't want to take her around then that was just fine with her. Just fine.
Part of her wanted to turn and the other part refused to move. She stood in silence until she became fully aware of his eyes watching her. Raising her eyes she turned to look at him her expression unchanging. "If you do not want to show me your not-dark spots then I can go..." She did not much want to leave but if she wasn't wanted here then there was no point in staying.
She had been told a few times by her mother that her mind was like a winter storm; unpredictable and destructive. At the moment she could not help but agree because at times like these she was not entirely sure why she was thinking what she did. All she knew was it was both upsetting and infuriating.

Raising a brow, the stallion observed her reactions and emotions carefully determining that he had said something wrong. He got the feeling that Seraphia didn't trust him and it bothered him too. Hasn't he made it clear that he didn't want her to get hurt in any way? Maybe he hadn't... Axel was tired of his feelings right now because of the circles they were spinning him in.
Axel moved his head close to her's wondering what was wrong. When he had seen her angry and then sad expression, he had no idea what to do. He didn't even know what he did wrong. "What's wrong?"
He inquired but then heard her comment about not wanting to take her to his spots; Axel felt a flicker of flame within him. How did she come up with that assumption? He, in no way, wanted to get rid of her but that's what she thought? "Don't be silly." Speaking sharply, he paused and took a deep breath. "If I didn't want you to be here, I wouldn't have asked to do anything with you. Don't be so quick to make assumptions." Axel did not like having to explain things but he would for Phia.
Sometimes, he felt like he would never understand other's feelings or even his own. They were so unpredictable and he had too short of a temper for that.

At his change in tone she found herself blinking. She was wrong then? Making assumptions. That was what she did though. It was what she always did. How else could she judge a person after only hearing a few words about them or after spending only a few short moments with them? Not doing this would certainly cause troubles in the future. Perhaps it was better to just assume he meant not to make assumptions concerning him. Or was that what she was not supposed to be doing?
Thinking about it was angering her a little bit and also giving her a slight headache so she decided it would be better to stop. It was better to focus her attention on the unusual joy she felt at being wrong. Feeling it, warm in her chest, brought a small smile to her lips and into her eyes. It seemed being wrong could be a good thing if being right meant something bad. Interesting.
"So, you do want me around?" It seemed that the question had already been answered but Seraphia wanted to hear him say it. She wanted to know that she wasn't just jumping to more conclusions. "Then why did you stop and why did you say I didn't trust you?" Her head tilted ever so slightly to the side as her eyes narrowed a fraction of an inch. It wasn't that she was angry at him, she was just confused in her own way.

Axel didn't appreciate her assuming that he just wanted to go back to the darkness. Have some trust. He had gone through his life knowing that most of the world didn't trust him because of who he was and what he looked like. Dangerous.
Watching her carefully, Axel didn't know what to think about her right now because she didn't trust him. Was she just like everybody else? His judgment at been wrong before. "Sure I want you around." He spoke tiredly feeling like he was fighting a lost battle. "I've already expressed that." Listening to her, the stallion thought about what he was going to say because now, it was important that he be careful with his words. He didn't want her to rush to conclusions again. "I stopped because you seemed skeptical about going to my spots. It's like you don't trust me. I wouldn't make you go back into the darkness because I can tell that you don't like it. I would never make you do something that you don't want." After speaking, Axel didn't know what else to say because he just wanted for her to understand.
"Get it now? I don't like it when my temper flares in front of you but I can't help it."

The words brought a smile to her face but it was small. He didn't sound pleased with her at all. It upset her. She wanted to make him happy with her and making him think that her trust in him was non existent was not what she wanted at all. Silently she shifted. She pulled her wings in tighter to her sides and bowed her head low so that her cross and a good potion of her mane rested on the ground. Standing like this left her completely open. The golden branded mare did trust him and she wanted him to see this.
"Fire Spike..." She spoke keeping her head low. "I want to be useful to you...I can not do that in the dark...please believe me when I say it was not a matter of trust that..." Her voice trailed off. She did not know what to say. Frantically she was grabbing at fragments of thoughts that would help but couldn't hold on to any of them long enough to get the words out. "I do not mean to question you Fire Spike!" Her head rose a little as she said this before she allowed it to lower once again.
"And...I like when your temper flares..." This was muttered as she was somewhat embarrassed to say it in such a way. When it did she could feel great power in him. She admired that kind of power very much.

Sighing slightly, Axel didn't know what to think. He knew that she was worth it though because she had saved him. She helped him return to his old self. He never thought about Wica and he could safely say that he was pretty much over the old mare. He cared too much about Phia. Tilting his head, Axel watched her movements carefully and then realized what she was doing. To be sure, he was rather surprised by this.
Lowering his head, Axel nudged her's and brought her head back up to look at her eyes. "I don't need someone useful to me. Just being there is fine." Pausing, he took in the moment. "I like your opinions. Just don't make assumptions." It was rare for him to be gentle and kind but when he was, Axel was true and sincere.
His eyes softened and he really just felt a lot better now. Axel couldn't help but chuckle when she said that. "You say that now... My temper isn't something pretty and I hope you never completely see it." Nuzzling her slightly, Axel was pretty content at this moment.

Golden eyes meet with emerald and a thin smile appeared on her face. It was not the mocking or challenging one she gave to most but a genuine smile. It was the smile that only those closest to her got to see. She was not sure that she understood him not needing someone useful but if he wanted her there all the same that was all that mattered, right? "Alright...I understand." She said softly giving a very slight nod of her head so as not to break eye contact.
He laughed and her wings twitched ever so slightly. "I say that now because I mean it of course." She murmured, now pouting slightly. Did he find it funny that she liked his temper? She never voiced this because she didn't truly care. There were things a bit more interesting then his sense of humor right now. Like his touch. She pressed against him gently feeling him and let out a happy sigh.
"Besides...I can't imagine your temper is anything worse then what I've...seen..." Her voice was, oddly enough, peaceful for what she was saying. Really she had meant to end that with the word 'done', but really who needed the details?

Smiling at her happily, Axel hardly showed anybody this smile and he really wasn't surprised. Phia was too close to him now and he couldn't back out of this again. And this time, it was different. Phia was different and she pulled the best out of him. He loved that about her.
"Oh. I'm just saying that you like the worst part of me. You silly mare." He smiled once more at her. He couldn't help but chuckle at her slight pouting. "Well, it can be. So just be careful." Axel nuzzled her again gently wondering how he got himself into this situation again.
It was okay though... he was better. Even before Wica, he felt like he was being enveloped by darkness. But when he was with Phia, everything about him seemed okay and he didn't feel the need to go back to the darkness. Phia really has saved him.
