Pixie Saylor I don't even know how many times I've repierced my ears. The pain isn't bad. At all. AT ALL. Take something sharp - pin/needle, whatever, sanitize, and go from the back to the front. You'll be able to see what you're doing and won't get lost in your ear. Go slow and be careful, and clean it with peroxide when you're done. Then leave it in for 6 weeks, without taking it out. Last time I got my ears professionally done I didn't clean past the first week, but since your ears seem to hate you it's probably good if you clean daily, and should probably take toastie's advice and get hoops. Also, backs don't fall off that easy, so there's no need to push them in so far. Rotate them a couple times daily, don't mess with them too much. Don't do it with the back of an earring since that hurts like a ******** and blunt trauma is bad for your ear. I have low pain tolerance. I don't know about doing it myself (anymore). I think I'll go to the shop but it's expensive. :XP: Also, do you think I can clean my ear with hoop earrings or should I stay with loose studs until it heals fully. Heart Shaped Toastie D: i was worried it would heal up if there was no earring in there. 3
seriously, get some small hoops if not sleeper earrings specifically. I wouldn't do it myself if i were you because i'm a spaz and terrified of things getting infected (especially since your ears seem to be susceptible to infection), but if you are going to make VERY SURE your utensils are sanitized and clean and omg be so very careful O_O
It shouldn't be too terrible since the hole is freshly healed, the scar tissue should pierce easier than it would if it were fresh never pierced skin (i think?) It was pretty easy getting it halfway in but it stopped there. The back of my ear is COMPLETELY healed. I was poking around to find the other end but couldn't. My mom was like just make a new hole. I tried but got too freak out by the blood. gonk

The Retanator TootsieFruity You guys were right. It looks healed. The piercing is smaller than the other. I'm going to try put my earrings back on. Try wearing them pretty much all day, but just not when you sleep and see if that helps. I did this with my right piercing and cleaned it but after a moment it started bleeding. I left it in. I'm going to sleep on the side with no piercing tonight and see what happens in the morning.

You can clean them with the hoops in. 3nodding The good thing about sleeper hoops is that they fit inside themselves as a fastener, so you can rotate them in your ears every once and a while when you clean your ears and clean the earrings without even removing them from your ear.

The thing is the store where I'm getting a piercing uses a piercing gun and use studs to pierce.

They usually do. You could always change it a week or so after you got it done if you wanted to, or if you still have the studs they originally pierced your ears with, you could just stick one of those in the other ear until the second one healed up.

That's the thing. The studs they stick you with break. Really. I tried to pull mines out after the healing period was over it would not budge. I had help from my mom and got them out but not all it one piece more like ... 6 pieces? xD

XDDDD Yeah, I have the worlds smallest pain tolerance when it comes to self injury, which this does. You don't understand - It hurts like a ******** when you use an earring back. But if you go back to front with something sharp, it just plain won't hurt as much. At all. Especially because you'll be treating it like an earring. And then you stick the earring in and leave it alone. Clean the okay one with the earring in. I'd say give it another 2-4 weeks before switching earrings on it regularly. Also, it's not hard to find a needles only pierce place, it just won't be as cutesy as claires. But if you go to a tattoo/piercing parlor and explain, they'll be smarter and know more about piercing detail. And probably yell at you for treating your piercings how you did. XD

If they're a b***h to get out, then why do you press the backs so far in?

I'm planning to go ask around at Macy's of Sears. Pixie Saylor XDDDD Yeah, I have the worlds smallest pain tolerance when it comes to self injury, which this does. XD There aren't many tattoo/piercing here. Or at least that I know and for those that I do I don't trust them. Pixie Saylor It's just because they have a notch so it's a b***h to get them out because you're not supposed to worry about them falling out and aren't supposed to take them out for weeks. If they're a b***h to get out, then why do you press the backs so far in? No, those are two different pairs of earrings. My first pair was extremely hard to take out and broke but my second and third pair weren't as difficult to take out so I got worried that they would fall off. If that makes sense ... I don't know why but the lump is still there. It isn't in my other ear (the okay one). I think I'm going to wait until the lump goes away before I pierce it but I'm unsure if it will go away at all.

I doubt the lump will go away.
Mine never did, and they ended up piercing over it in the end.
I also agree with pixie, you should try going to a tattoo/piercing place and get it done with a needle. Even if they look scary, they're usually quite reputable and have to meet much higher cleanliness standards than claires or ardene because they don't use a gun.
Also, they might have something that can numb the ear temporarily while they pierce the back of the hole again. 3nodding

I'm starting to feel another lump in my other ear while cleaning it. sweatdrop I really don't know any that have a good reputation. Really. I know oneplace where this girl went with the same problem as me. About a month later her ear was infected and she needed surgery. I never asked her what happened but I don't really want to. Hawaii has limited resources.

Something that I noticed today is that I have less problems with dangling earrings that with posts, because the danglies don't have backings and as much pressure, so my ears don't react to them as quickly-- my ears are really sensitive.
I thought I'd just throw that into the discussion.

I mean, it's not like you routinely go into them and such.
