I'm from 06 and I hold NO attachment to any of my event items, except maybe my Rebellion Mask. xd
I think a knockoff of the Labcoat would have been a better direction than just re-releasing them. They are called Event Items for a reason, and I am always a believer in finding middle ground.
In a practical sense, Labcoats are pretty generic-looking. People don't necessarily care about how old or pricey it is, I think people are more into the versatility of it. Just look at the shops, we don't get that many white coats, in comparison to the always present black ones. We shouldn't have to limit creativity and attainability just because the Labcoats were a once-in-a-lifetime deal in a time when the site was relatively small. What I think should have been done was make a new type of Labcoat somehow, like with different designs or changing the colors.
I mean, they were able to make Rebellion Mask knockoffs with the cowboy scarves and apocripped scarves. They just made a satisfying substitute for the Grombies with the Death Whisper and Glompbie skins. I hope a Dev or someone addresses this over at the AtA tomorrow.

First of all, there's NO way that we're going to change what has happened, via petitions OR complaining. They can't just go "O SORRY LOL" and gank back the prizes they've already given. Maybe we can convince them to not do it again in the future, but what's done is done.
As far as complaining goes, I think people have every right to complain.
No.
They have a DUTY to complain. Even if it is not in an organized form such as a petition, it is a clear sign of dissent. A clear sign that a portion of the population is not happy with the recent decision. It sends a message to those in charge. Complain on, I say.

Labcoats a plenty, really. More white coats in general would be cool, though.

The slightest difference means a lot to picky avatar dressers. mrgreen
