I usually see new ones in the Library, and then If they sound good I pick them out there.

I wander bookstores and libraries and troll for interesting titles. Then I read the summary and if I like it, I'm in. Word of mouth also helps.

I use Amazon's recommendations, and browse the classics and philosophy sections in second-hand book stores, of which there are an abundance in Bristol. :3

I look on Amazon and other book store websites to see bestsellers or recommendations from the books I already like. I also look at publishers websites too then I order them from my library.

I mainly surf here and there through search engines or book websites like www.teenreads.com, www.fantasticfiction.co.uk, amazon, etc. Sometimes I hear some good things on some selective books from people or just pop in a store to pick some up randomly and check them out.

I find a lot of new books when I'm out shopping. But more commonly, I hear about a lot of different books that I've never heard about before from the Internet.

If you're looking for something fresh to read, how do you find it? Word of mouth? The "coming next" ad in the back of the book you just finished? What?

For example, I read through the book reviews of professional magazines like Booklist and Publisher's Weekly (then I have to wait two months sometimes until the books are actually published.)
Why, young lady, you come here!

There are a couple of authors I keep an eye out for. Usually the last book I read advertises their next, or I check their websites. Anything else normally comes up on my book club flyers that I get monthly for three different book clubs.

Normally, since I'm at Borders practically every weekend, I look at the new releases and see if anything's interesting. I mean, you can't really miss it, you practically crash into the New Release little shelf thingie once you walk in the door. I also look on Borders.com or Barnesandnoble.com and look at new books in certain genres. Some of it is by word of mouth, but mostly, I just find them on my own. Or if I know a new book in a series I'm reading is coming out soon, I'll look at similar books when I'm done reading the summary of that book.

Oh no!
Usually it's word of mouth from my bibliomaniac of a mom or friends, plus if I see a trailer for a new movie and it says 'Based on the novel by ______' I'll usually read the novel first if it's a genre I'm into.

I just look at what's on the shelves @ my library, although I have found a couple good books from ads in the back of other books.
