He shrugged. "It's not my favorite thing," he admitted. Although that was more because sweating and getting messy really didn't work for him. But he had gotten used to cleaning up quickly. Speaking of which, he thought. "Do you mind if I visit the washrooms for a moment? I'll be right back."

Delilah shook her head. Then she pointed towards two doors in the back of the cafe marked with the usual signs. She smiled. "You don't look bad at all, though," she reassured him softly. "Honestly. But... I'll order for us both, okay? Hot chocolate and cherry pie, right?"

"Yes, please," he said. "It won't take me long," he added as he headed for the bathroom. He took a few seconds to rinse his face and redo his hair, wondering what in the hell was wrong with him.
Oh, right. He was a teenage boy. It was irritating some times, he had to admit. He reached up, straightening his shirt and pulling his wallet out of his pocket to examine the contents. He still had about 75k on the card his father had given him. He had invested 20 of it in the stock markets, and spent 5 of it on clothing, computer games, and various other things.
But he had been eyeing a few new stocks and he wouldn't see an outcome of his investments for a few years. It was--
He suddenly realized he had gone off on a tangent and left a beautiful girl waiting for him back at the table. Now was not the time to think business, he told himself before heading back to Delilah.
"Have you ordered yet?" he asked as he sat down.

At his question, Delilah started in her chair and turned away from her middle distance staring to him, blue eyes wide and startled. A piece of her silky hair fell over her forehead and into her eyes. It took a moment but she offered him a charming, crooked little smile. "Oh, yes," she answered. "I hope you like whipped cream. I forgot to ask before you went." She apparently felt no need to apologize for her absent stare, however, and fixed her appraising gaze on him instead. "You look more comfortable with yourself," she murmured. "Nice... Well, nicer. I didn't think there was anything really wrong before."

He hesitated, wondering what she had been looking at and fighting the urge to look around. Maybe there was someone they knew there? Or she knew, at least. "Thank you," he said a bit belatedly. "I feel more like myself," he admitted. "And whipped cream is fine, thank you."
Soooo... now what did they talk about? Hair products? Obviously she had a good one, he was quite impressed with the shine. But she'd probably wonder about his sexual orientation if he asked that...

Delilah rested one elbow on the table and rested her cheek against the raised hand. She still watched him, considered him, but it wasn't quite uncomfortable as she still smiled slightly. Finally, she laughed under her breath. "We've run out of things to say," she announced. "You must think I'm really boring now."

"Ah, yes, you could say so," he admitted. "I like reading, I'm passable at art--" in other words he could draw perfectly enough that he was willing to show others. One of his greatest abilities was the ability to mimic things. Not that he would mention that. "I enjoy watching movies, as well."

She was nodding along with his words, brilliant blue eyes focused on his face and telegraphing her attention clearly. It was flattering, all in all. "What kind of movies? Uncle Kiet, Mama, and I watch a lot of them."

"Ah, well--" He was interrupted as the pie and drinks came. "Thank you," he said to the waitress. Then had a sudden thought. "Tell me, are you hiring here?"

The waitress eyed him dubiously. She was a middle-aged woman with the expert hands that indicated years of waitressing. "We might be," she finally answered. "You can check with the cashier."
Delilah wrinkled her nose a bit, watching Antony curiously.

"I'll do that, thank you," he said, his mind full of tips and a bit of pocket change. A job would do him good, he thought-- then he remembered something.
"Oh, it'll have to wait until Father and I get back from vacation, though."

Delilah didn't even notice the waitress leaving as she took in Antony's words. Her bottom lip came out a bit, not quite a pout but a certain fullness. "Where are you going?"

"Just a place Father knows," he said with a slight smile. "We won't be gone more than a week, I believe. But I did promise him we'd go soon. And after I get back I'm sure to need the extra cash."
With age his OCD compunctions grew, overtaking the financial aspects of his life, as well, it seemed. Even if he refused to move because the wards were so excellent at Jack's place.
