[I'm not a bad person...]True, ninjas are cool, but they lack the character of pirates. Pirates are the most hardcore of all; with no place left for them on land, they take to the sea and terrorize the waters, living in such seclusion that their very existence becomes mythical. With no one else left to turn to, pirates have to rely on each other to survive, and so a strange form of honor emerges in a pirate's crew - a reluctant alliance between criminals. While they lack the strict discipline of ninjas, pirates have a myriad of many different skills, tactics and techniques that they pick up throughout their travels, which makes them resourceful and hard to predict. They've seen it all, and the trials of their lives serve to harden their character and strengthen their resolve. Indeed, while ninjas shun their humanity and feelings, pirates embrace these things and are fully aware of their limits. Does it make them weak? I suppose that is for the world to decide. I personally like them a lot, though... the current view of pirates being campy and colorful and such is not very kind to the stereotype as a whole, so I try to dispel it whenever possible...
That's just the tip of the iceberg, of course, but you get the idea. pirate
