Oki looked back and forth between Wild and his group, and Kirai. She let out a sigh and padded over to where Kirai lay. She leaned her head down close to his ear and whispered "I don't think you really want to start something with them, I mean there's only two of us, and..." She turned her head to look at the group, then turned it back again "Four of them."

Wild peeled back his lips in a defencive snarl. He wouldve loved to say that his feelings for Arandell were strong, but he knew he couldn't. He stiffened his legs, and a deep growl rumbled in his throat. Hackles raised, his exposed not one, but both of his white fangs. "My apologies, but I thought you wanted to join our pack. However your remark was uneccesary and unneeded. I'd watch your tongue next time." He snarled throatily. "I will not fight you now. A fight should be picked in dire need. I am not one to fight without reason." He growled, but held his ground with his tail held high, and lifting his head higher than the others.

Timber smiled at Sahara, and turned to Kirai. "There no need for that! It's not his fault his heart burns with passion for Arandell! I'm sure in his position, you would've done the same!" He growled.

Wild's ears perked, and a knot formed in the pit of his stomach. He said nothing, but in his mind, his expression was of sheer embarrassment.

Kirai snorted, "I am who I am, I do not pretend to be something I am not. I know I am not leader material, so I do not try to be." He looked at them over his shoulder. "There is a reason why I stay to the fringes of the packs." He narrowed his eyes and growled a deep rolling growl, "Threaten me and I will fight to an inch of my life, baring female or no, you would feel my fangs!" He snarled, slowly standing, his hackles raising with his movement. "Passion I know, stupidity I know, you display both. Do not depend on others for it will only get you killed! Form bonds tentavily." He suddenly calmed and seemed to shake himself, smoothing his fur back. He regarded the group again and shook his head. "Pray you do not find others of my mind frame. If you do you will surely feel the claws of defeat." He gave them a half mocking bow and breezed past them, stopping only to adress Oki. "My friend, you may do what you wish, if you want to stay with them you are welcome to. If you wish to stay with me, then you may. I hold no power over you." He continued forward, his strides sure, no matter the turmoil that coiled within his heart.

It had been years since he'd been a part of a pack, longer since he'd felt the companionship of another. His mother had named his aptly, because even from a young age he'd shown the traits of a loner. He'd kept himself away from most of the pack when he was growing up, chosing instead to explore the forests and the far boundries of his packs ample territory. His father had been one of the many mated males, with moderate standing. He knew the pack leader well though, for they were cousins. The scarred wolf with bright yellow eyes, he was a smudge on his memory now. He had been the one to bring the pack down, to scatter the remaining to the seven winds and beyond their island. His bones now rotten in the sea. The disease had spread quickly, it had been a nightmare...

"I would like to see you try." She said coldly, her eyes a mirror of ice. Her voice lowered considerably and dangerously as she stared quietly after the male. Her tail was raised instinctively, held steadily. She could see, rather feel, something that seemed to radiate from this strange loner. A feeling she could not quite touch, yet knew she alone could feel the fringes frizzing out at her. She had learned to predict and read the feelings of Canids as a young pup, and had never quite got rid of the instinctiveness of the action. The reading had, indeed, saved her life once from the grieved jaws of her maddened father. It had been shortly after her two brothers had died, and she had been stupid enough to wish to check her father's condition. Had she not tentatively opened herself to the wave of emotions that flooded her, she would not have escaped the mad flash of jagged white teeth.

She shook her head, staring after the loner. She did not know how it felt to be alone, and want to stay so, and she could not in anyway help this male. She did not remotely want to. She watched as he strode away, the frost in her eyes melting swiftly as she dropped the stand of her tail. With a final growl, she turned and stalked back closer to the others, her eyes catching Timber's shyly.

Oki stared after him and felt a wave of sadness wash over her emotions. She looked back towards the pack, and then at Kirai's moving shape once more. "Hey wait up!" She called after him as she raced to catch up with him.

Happiness covered her features once again as she caught up with him. As she was slowing down to match his pace, she accidentally brushed up against his side.

A wave of sadness and regret came over Wild. He'd lost two eligible pack mates, and gained an enemy: the last thing he wanted. He sighed, sad to see Oki go. She would have been an excellent addition, helpful with hunting and tracking Wild assumed. He laid down, and curled his tail around him. He closed his eyes, and began to think. Was he really stupid like the male said? No, it couldn't be. Wild was as clever as a sly fox. He meant no harm to the male, and yet he shattered Wild's pride with the male's words. "He judged me as an idiot, and then challenged me. I never did anything to him except invite him to our pack. Was that so wrong?" He spoke softly to himself. "I meant no harm at all, and now he's crushed my pride." He paused. "But I am strong. I shall not let his false words scar me." He rose to his feet, and lifted his tail in an alpha position. Glaring at the shape of the male, he lifted his leg and marked his scent, forming his boundary line. He growled to himself, and exposed a single fang at the small shapes, and then turned back to his pack.

Timber loud out a loud snort, and turned his back. "There was no need for conflict." He growled, and laid down with his paws crossed. He glanced at Sahara, and gestured for her to lie next to him. "Come now, I don't bite pretty faes like you. Only the wretched, evil males, or the traitors who deserve it." He smiled a toothy grin.

(( xd Kirai will eventually join Wilds pack, Oki will have her paws full until he does. Right now he's fighting with some bad memories.))

He was surprised when Oki decided to stay with him, even more when she brushed against him. He paused, then started foreward again, brushing against her in return almost shyly. Wild and his pack...they would consider him a rival, and enemy now. The idea was a worrisome thing, but he was swifter then they, and he knew the land better. He'd made the area his own for years now, and they were new. He sighed, "Was I...right...with the things I said?" He asked his companion. His amber eyes solom. "I judged by just a few actions, they came with friendly intentions.... have I jaded myself so much that I think of things as a threat to myself?" He mumured the last part softly to himself, as if unwilling to truly accept it.

Sahara felt her cheeks flame as she returned his grin. She padded up beside him, stretching slightly as she laid down beside him, her tail curling and resting on her hind paw as she did.

(*exhales* Phew! I was worried that Wild would have an enemy forever! That's the last thing he wants!)

Wild flicked his tail in annoyance as a fly buzzed in his ear. He snarled, and snapped at it, his jaws clicking at teeth bit into air. Taking out his frustration on the insect, he growled at it, and clipped it's wings with a swipe of his fangs. Snorting in pride, he regained normality.

Oki smiled warmly, "I think you were just a little bit harsh, but don't worry too much. They we're just words and they'll probably be forgotten before long." She nuzzled Kirai reassuringly. She stopped for a minute. I didn't just do that did I? I mean I don't even know this male's name! she thought

The movement just felt so right, so fluid, so natural. She blushed and turned her head away, so he couldn't see her embarassment.

Kirai frowned and sniffed at the air, noting the change. "You're...embarished? What did I do?" I asked, his voice gruff, as usual. He frowned, "Tell me what I did. I am not Kirai all the time. I do not dislike you." He was puzzled, and circled Oki until he could see her face. "You are red, why?" He bumped her gently then nuzzled her, brushing his body soothingly against her, unknowning of the motions true intentions.

She watched as the fly spun to the ground and lay, twitching slightly. She resisted the urge to stand and flick it off to the side, and turned her gaze toward Timber, regarding his features carefully.
"I'm... Sahara." She said softly, as though lost in a trance of some kind.

He yawned, and laid down with his paws crossed. He glanced at Sahara, and replied. "I'm Timber, pleasure to meet you." He gestured for her to lie next to him. "Come now, I won't bite a pretty fae like you, only the wretched, evil males, or the traitors who deserve it." He smiled a toothy grin.

She blushed, and stood, shaking any grass bits that still glung to her tan body, and moved to settle next to Timber. Her ears swiveled forward, as if she were trying to catch a sign of the strange loner male that had just left. Her eyes stayed on Timber, and her tail flopped next to his.

Timber grinned. "There now. No need to be shy. Have you decided to join our pack? Or are you planning to be on your way sometime soon? It would be a shame for you to leave. I would have no one to talk to except for the two lovers here." He chuckled, and then his eyes grew worried. He lowered his tail in a quick sign of submission to Wild. "My apologies. I will watch my tongue next time. I do not mean to offend you." He said very softly to Wild.
