"Watch!" 'Zuba said, forcefully pulling the boy to the side before her could run into one of smaller displays. "Follow. I see." She said, starting to lead him. It was a good thing she could see clearly no matter what the lighting. She didn't plan on running on the paths; that would be far too obvious.

Slythor nodded and patted Zuba's left soulder so that he could be lead. He wasn't able to see well in darkness at all. It was like looking at a very fuzzy black anf white picture... that was never fun. He followed the other quietly, his bird flapping silently behind them.

'Zuba lead him along, moving away from the woman. It was times like these she was glad she wasn't normal; normal people wouldn't have been of any use. She wasn't exactly sure where they should go, so she headed for one of the buildings. She glanced up at the sign, reading it quickly: reptiles. She opened the door, slipping inside and leading her new friend in. "Stay here; is warm." she said, nodding. And it didn't look like anyone was here; another plus. There were a few lights in each of the tanks, casting a dull yellowish light throughout the building and making visibility possible.

Slythor followed quietly, before finding himself in the reptiles. He smiled and took 'Zuba's hand. "Let's explore." He spoke, walking around silently thanks to his hooves. He walked until he looked at a lizard under blue light, as if the light was trying to simulate night. The lizard was in fake sand and walked around contently. He read the sign. Gila Monster.

'Zuba nodded; exploring was fun! And it was better than just standing around, doing nothing. She walked almost as silently as Slythor; foam shoes were a wonderful thing. She bent down slightly, looking at the lizard on it's level. "Pretty scales." she said, smiling. Silently, she wondered why her scales couldn't be that pretty; her's were just bland, plain-old gray. "'S not monster..."

Slythor shrugged. "Says it is the only venomous lizard n the world... careful." He spoke calmly. "It might get angry and bite you, and then we'd be in big trouble." He spoke, also staring at the lizard until he saw a huge snake. "Woah!" He ran to it. A giant snake was slithering around on the fake vines. It was a giant anaconda, but he didn't know that.

'Zuba nodded, smiling. "Careful..." she murmured, chuckling. She could do that; besides, it wasn't like she'd reach in to touch the animal; that might bother or disturb it. She blinked, looking up to see what Slythor was running to. When she saw the humongous snake, her eyes widened and her mouth formed a little "o". That was the most amazing creature she'd seen yet. So big, but so pretty. She was at the exhibit almost instantaneously, her face pressed against the glass as she watched it. "Ooooh..." was the only sound that came from her mouth for a moment, before she spoke one coherent word.
"Want."

Slythor eagerly read the description. "It's named Luna because she moves around a lot at night." He murmured, staring at the snake with wide eyes. That thing could eat someone right up! He was glad this thing couldn't escape. He didn't want to be this guy's next lunch. "I don't think it would make a good pet..."

"Luna....pretty name." 'Zuba said, backing away from the glass a bit to glance at the information written in the description. "'S anaconda..." she read, struggling a bit over the foreign word. "Sure it would. Eat twins right up..." she added, grinning a bit evilly. Oh, she'd love to introduce those two brats to Luna.

Slythor chuckled. "Then your parents would get angry and you'd be in huge trouble." He replied, before looking around. "I think we should get somewhere to sleep, it's getting late. How about here?" He asked quietly. No one was going to try and find them in here, he was sure and he preferred to sleep in the dark rather than look at animals. that could always be done tomorrow.

'Zuba sighed; he was right. Mother would be upset if the two were disposed of. Pfft. She then nodded once, looking to him. "You sleep. I watch." she offered. After all, she had no problem staying up to make sure they didn't caught. She was used to staying up at night, anyways.

Slythor nodded and lay down on the floor. He closed his eyes silently and allowed himself to fall asleep. He dreamed without dreams, which was odd for him. He almost always had some sort of dreaming... but apparently, not tonight. He didn't mind through, it offered him a new chance to sleep longer.

'Zuba did her best to stay awake, but exhaustion got the better of her, and she eventually fell asleep, slumped in a sitting position against the wall. She had vague dreams of tall green grass and blue skies, but nothing distinct enough that she'd remember it when she woke up.
It was around eight in the morning when something woke her up. What was that jingling noise...? She rubbed her eyes, not awake enough to register the sound as keys clinking together. Uh-oh.

Slythor awoke to jingling. The zookeeper! They must be looking for the kids after they ran off. He got up and grabbed Zuba's arm roughly. "Up!" He growled, his bird letting out an alarmed tweet at the knowledge that the door had been opened and they would be spotted in less than a second.

'Zuba's eyes flared open as her arm was grabbed. She had to catch herself; if she hadn't, Slythor would have had four nice little claw marks on his arm. But, she'd stopped herself from acting on instinct, so he was safe. She stood up, earwing twitching at the sound of the opening door. She tugged Slythor the other way; she was not getting caught.
