"You only wish!" Snarling Tsuki whirled his small body around. She may have had the advantage of her fur with was much thicker then his, but he had the advantage of being smaller then she. He had always been picked on by his sister for being small but his mom had assured him it wasn't a bad thing at all. Now he knew why. Charging at her Tsuki headed straight at her his head bent as if to head butt her but at the last moment he whipped to the left aiming for her side. Smirking he then changed his course once more back to the right hoping to snag her throat in his jaws.

Samantha saw him coming...she'd tried a similar trick only a short time before. Most Helixes...most animals in general...would attempt to dodge, usually failing in the process and some losing their lives.
She'd been hunting for herself for a long time now.
Samantha wasn't most animals or Helixes. She knew that didn't work and she knew her own strengths, her own tricks. And so, she held her ground, tucking her head close to protect her throat and holding back a growl as she crouched low to the ground. She waited, ready to take a hit if necessary, her mind already plotting her next move.
Narrow emerald eyes darted, following the grayish blur as she suddenly dug a front paw into the dirt in front of her and flung it out in an arc towards her attacker. She used the momentum to throw herself sideways, rolling with her head tucked close to her chest.

Surprised Tsuki just took it in stride. He wasn't one to yell during a fight. It just wasted breath and wasted time. So he instead let the blow scratch him slightly as he darted away from it. Spinning on paw he aimed again but this time he aimed to go between her front paws.
Once again he was thankful for his size. It helped greater then he thought it would. Even if he missed her again he planned to make some kind of impression. His true goal wasn't to hurt her, no, it was to pin her, to show his dominance. He'd sure as hell make sure she wouldn't win. Even if it was a mutual decision to leave she would NOT win.

Samantha hid her disappointment when her attempt to blind her opponent apparently failed. The spray of dirt flew and scattered harmlessly, but she had no time to focus on that.
Instead, she whirled, turning her tails towards the coming attack as a distraction. Then, shifting her weight to her front paws, she kicked out viciously with her hind legs, aiming for the male's face.

"Damn you woman just go down already!" He was getting frustrated. She wasn't supposed to win! And she deffinately wasn't supposed to be this dang good! Growling he avoided the tails and got whipped in the face by her legs. Falling with a loud thud to the ground Tsuki jumped back up and blindly charged for the females side as his shoulder throbbed. The ground here in the neutral territory was much harder to land on then the north. Up there the snow helped cushion the fall here not so much.

"No thanks, I don't swing that way. If the little pup is getting tired, maybe he should just run off with his tail between his legs instead!"
She snarled in victory as her kick landed and repelled the other pup. Adrenaline pumping through her system like liquid energy, Samantha whirled once more lightly on her paws, emerald eyes locked on the gray male. She wasn't without injury, but in her current state, she wouldn't be feeling anything until after the adrenaline rush faded.
She could sense the frustration and fury practically radiating off her opponent. Perfect. He charged for her, more with pure anger than any sort of strategy and she stood as if to take the hit. At the last second, she dropped flat to the ground. If he was charging her with his shoulder, he'd overshoot her now easily. Instantly, she pushed against the ground, thrusting her back upwards with both force and speed. If she caught him in mid-tackle, she'd likely throw him airborne with the move.

"No!" He hadn't expected it. Well he hadn't expected anything but that was surely the last thing that he wanted. Being suddenly airborn Tsuki had no clue what to do. He had never been propelled into the air and he wasn't exactly the most flexible pup. Trying to maneuver around to face his attacker Tsuki realized his tail was throwing him off balance and so wrapped it around his hind leg. How that female was able to fight with so many tails confounded him but that wasn't something to think about just yet. He still had to take her down. Feeling his paws land on solid ground the male took off full speed at the tailed on in front of him.

Granted, another pup suddenly granted with her tails would probably have no idea what to do with them all. But Samantha had been born this way and had had the nine appendages all her life. They were a natural part of her and she'd learned early on how to use them instinctively to aid her in a fight as well as in normal life. The tails not only served as a convenient distraction for her opponent in a fight, but when necessary, she could whip them quickly to adjust for any loss in balance.
Quite handy actually with a little practice.
Still, this fight was wearing on far too long. Samantha was quick, granted, but she wasn't sure how long she could keep up this sort of scuffle. She needed to end it quick. So, instead of standing in wait for his attack like normal, she took to the offensive. Whirling around on the male, she snarled and dashed forwards, ducking low before she struck to aim for his vulnerable spots. Namely his throat or underbelly.

Luckily for Samantha and quite horribly for Tsuki, Sam did hit her target. Tsuki reeled as she slammed into him knocking him onto his back her paws making contact with his stomach and her muzzle positioned right at his jugular. Tensing up he snarled at her as menacingly as he could in his young and tired state, wrestling to free himself from her hold. "I will not let you win female! I WILL NOT ALLOW IT!" But even Tsuki knew when the battle was lost and he was losing this battle.

'ALLOW IT?!? I got news for you, pup. You have no say in the matter at this point!' Snarling viciously, Samantha punctuated her threat by closing her jaws around Tsuki's jugular. She was careful to only apply light pressure, not breaking the skin...but showing she could easily rip him to shreds at this point if she so chose.
She was still growling low, holding her position as her adrenaline surge faded. Eventually, she pulled back, still holding the male down with her paws as she sneered. 'You lost. Get over it. Everyone loses sometime. Just be glad this isn't the North or I'd have ripped your throat out and eaten you. Lucky for you, I don't think you'd be all that tasty to eat.' She leapt clearly aside, shaking out her fur and stretching. She seemed at ease, but she was no fool. You never turned your back on a beaten foe if you hadn't disabled them. They could always play dirty, so her senses were alert to any sort of counterattack.
Her emerald eyes flashed as she took a seat to finish grooming her tails. 'You learned an important lesson today. Don't start anything you're not sure you can finish. Best learned here than in the North,' she reminded lightly.

Tsuki simmered but said nothing. He knew when he had been bested and though he was hot headed he did remember one important lesson his mother told him. When you've lost don't act foolishly, you've lost, accept it for what it is and move on.
Slowly getting up he watched her with piercing eyes as she cleaned her tails. He didn't need her lessons, he knew them already, but usually the fights he picked he won.
He was one of the stronger pups in the North, having survived birth and his first harsh winter, he could win a fight with the few pups he had lived by but he hadn't considered that there was more food in the other territories and as such the helixes here were fitter, healthier and used to taking down bigger game. This was certainly something to save in his mind for later.

Samantha finished smoothing her tangled fur from the fight, noting the silence from her former foe. Granted, she was probably about as short-tempered and snarky as the male, with a mouth to match. At the same time, she'd learned from her own experience in the past that it didn't do to voice the cocky things that ran through your head after winning a fight.
Best to at least try to be civil and gracious in victory.
'You fight well,' she nodded curtly, reaching up and straightening her pendant with a paw. To be honest, he'd have probably beaten most any other pup he'd come across here. But Samantha had been fending for herself for as long as she could remember, so she was more independent and skilled in fending for herself at this age. Most pups were still following mom and dad to watch them hunt, barely even thinking of doing so for themselves at this point.
And so, with a mischievous sparkle in her emerald eyes, she looked up and continued, 'Perhaps a rematch someday?'

At first he thought perhaps she was playing some kind of trick on him. Possibly trying to lull him into a sense of security and comfort and then attack him to finish what she had started. But she seemed settled, much like she had been before the brawl, and Tsuki realized that if he acted suspicious of her, and she had no bad intentions, then he might instead invoke her anger for another round, one he really didn't want to partake in should he lose Twice in one setting.
So instead he relaxed himself if only marginally, reset his composer and did the only thing he could think of doing, answer her, hopefully in a tone that didn't upset the semi-peace they had established. "And though it is obvious, seeing as you were the victor in our fight, you also fight well, you managed to put cunning, speed and strength together for your ultimate victory and although it pains me," here he winced slightly but knew he had to continue "I would have liked to be defeated in no other way then the way you beat me."
There. It was said, and though his tone was slightly condescending or possibly spitful it was much better then it could have been. "I believe a rematch sounds like a good idea although I will most certainly be the victor!" A teasing gleam hit his eyes. He would train to beat this pup! That was certain.
