Kyoku had just reached the top of the polished wooden steps when she nearly had a heartattack at seeing a strange girl behaving rather rudely.

"Excuse me, what are you doing!?" She watched the strange girl fall down onto the belongings that were strewn from her trunk. "Are you a new girl too? Why have you not waited for someone to meet you?" Kyoku was in total shock at seeing her, when had she come into the house?

The other girls had just started coming up the stairs after her and called down for them to stay in the hall once they got up. The new girl would have to be sorted out it seemed.

Mameo got up and looked at Kyoku whom's voice had brought her back to the real world. She bowed and then looked at her with her tear streaked face of fury that had a twisted smile on it. "I'm sorry your magesty," she said in a mocking tone. Mameo was quite upset, and would not take this poor excuse for a woman to order her around.

(( sure... i will, but i was sold here by my father to pay off his debts... and if you want you can be my little sister whom he did the same to...))

Yokome looks around, then exits.

Kyoku closed her eyes patiently, she was not a woman prone to anger or violence, but she had learned well in her youth that sometimes it was needed. The girl was clearly not accepting her fate, she needed a rude awakening. Striding forward quickly, kyoku planted a firm slap on the girls face.

"You will never speak to your elders that way again if you value a place to sleep at night. If you value youf future at all you will learn your place here. I regret that you may have had a hard life, for that reflect poorly on your parents and makes you quite a sour young lady, but that is in the past and you will fall into line. This is your new life, like it or not."

Kyoku shook her head slowly, gently wiping the girls face with the sleeve of her kimono. "I highly suggest you learn your manners quickly, one enemy could ruin your prospects. If you think your life is bad now you are in for a rude awakening." Kyoku's voice had become softer, she was hoping the girl would come to her senses.

Mameo's eyes widened when Kyoku slapped her but still maintained the fire until she wiped Mameo's face. She softened instantly and shook her head realizing that she was right. She looked into Kyoku's eyes and said words that may've meant little to other people, but to her it was her acceptance of her new life. "Yes, Oni-chan (sp...)," she said and a fire of a different kind returned to her eyes.

Mitsuo barged through the doors to the Okiya loudly and ran up the stairs, almost forgetting to take her shoes off. "I'm so sorry that I'm late!" she yelled. She then settled down as she walked upon the scene of a beautiful older woman glaring firmly at a younger looking younger girl with firey eyes. "Oh! Pardon me for interrupting Onee-chan!" at this point she bowed gracefully, "But I was so scared I was late, and then I lost my way and I had torun as fast as I could just to get here now! I ams sorry," at this she looked down and tensed up, expecting a slap for being so late, like at her former home.

Her dark eyes widened as she saw another maiko rush up the stairs, barely remembering to take off her shoes. She leaned forward just enough to let her head be seen from the entrance way. Iyasu caught the last glimpse of the other maiko scrambling up the stairs.

I better get upstairs too . . . She thought to herself as she exitted from the okiya entrance and walked upstairs slowly. She entered into her Onee-chan's quarters upon a not so friendly scene. Iyasu bowed lowly to her older sister and fellow maiko.

"Please forgive me for coming late, and for interrupting your teachings Onee-chan . . ." Iyasu kept her eyes to the ground, until her older sister said other wise.
