Val looked at him, a hint of lust was her eyes. She walked closer to him and folded her wings against her back. She was shorter then Basil, her nose went to his chin. She stood up on her toes and closed her ryes, brushing her lips against his slightly. "Why not?" Her voice was as faint as a whisper, she wanted to see if his heartbeat wouldn't quicken.

Basil felt kind of uncomfortable as she got closer to him. What is she plotting? he thought nervously, as he pondered backing away from her. Unfortunetly, he couldnt make his legs work and he felt frozen to the spot. As she brushed her lips against his he stood there, wide eyed. What? Why is she kissing me? Should I kiss her back...what the hell is going on? He closed his eyes for like a second, trying to enjoy it, but it felt wrong somehow. He thought about pushing her away, but what if she genunely liked him? Then I could really hurt her feelings...but who randomly kisses someone they've known for like a day anyway? he broke off the kiss and stepped back slightly, almost tripping over his own feet in the process, "Why'd you do that?" he tried to sound as calm as possible but his heart and thoughts were going a mile a minute.

When she heard the soft beat of his heart started to pound she felt her ears lay back against her hair. When he stepped back her eyes looked around like she was searching for a possible answer to his question. Her eyes found tears and she backed away from him. What was she doing?
Mao came back with the dragonfly, smiling. "His name is Noka!" She said softly then looked at Basil, who was confused, and then Val, who seemed sadden by something. She just sat there, waiting for something to happen.
"I'm sorry..." Val whispered and kept backing away from him, a half step at a time.

Well you should be! Basil wanted to say this out loud but couldn't bring himself to do it. He could see how upset she was, and immediately felt the weight of guilt on him, "No, I'm sorry...are you ok?" he walked towards her slowly, trying to comfort her in some way, "It was ok really...I'm not upset" he reached out to place his hand on her shoulder, "Please, don't cry..."

Val moved away from his hand. She almost dropped the egg she had been holding all this time.
Mao caught Ethan and held the egg. "Val..."
"Just leave me alone, Mao..." She lookd away from Basil and turned around to go back to the cliff. When she got to the cliff she held out her wings the folded them in place again. The step off was nothing. There was no scream or shout for help. Only a slight splash when she hit the water.
Mao watched Val then looked at Basil. "What...what just happened?"

Basil retracted his hand and let his arms go limp by his sides, as he watched her walk to the cliff and jump. His mouth opened as he turned to Mao but he couldn't make words straight away. Shaking his head he shrugged, "I don't know what just happened Mao...that girl is strange!" he walked to edge of the cliff and looked down into the water, he figured she'd be alright, but there was something seriously strange about her. Why did she kiss me? Did I hurt her feelings? Was she just messing with my emotions? Why did she jump anyway? These questions ran through his mind as he gazed over the edge. Eventually he turned back to Mao, "What's up with her anyway?"

Mao started to rub the egg, as if it weren't hot enough, gently. "She is sorta bi-polar. I mean you should have seen what happened when Aiden said he was in love with Leilani. I think she just needs some sort of physical affection...I hope you don't take that as she wants sex. Val is better then that." She tried to search for what happened between them in his eyes but just found more confusion. Mao knew that Val jumped off that cliff a lot, for fun mostly but also for the thrill. She could die if she hit the right rock.

Basil shook his head and walked away from the cliff, finding himself a nice flat rock to sit on. Sitting down, he rested his chin in in hands and frowned, "I hate it when my friends are suffering...I know you may find that hard to believe, but I feel I can relate to her in some way" he rubbed his face in mild frustration before sighing, "But anyway..." he eyed the egg in Mao's hands, "Whos kid?"

Mao rolled her eyes. Relate to Val? How could anyone do that? Her eyes fell to the egg. "Val found it a few days ago...says it's a demon egg. Name is Ethan...I don't know how you can tell if it's a boy or girl yet." She picked up the egg and started to look at it from all sides.

Basil noticed Mao rolling her eyes at him, though he said nothing, "Oh she found it? Yeah Neoma found an egg the other day too, its a strange egg though" he shrugged, "Just another mouth to feed" he stood and strectched his arms above his head, before flopping back down on his rock, "What are we going to do about Val? Can't something be done to make her feel better?"

Mao noticed the egg for a lot hotter and she put it down. "I don't think the egg likes me to tell you the truth. It gets hot when I hold it. We have a big family so another mouth is just another part of the family." She thought for a moment then shrugged. "I don't know Val and making her feel better. She has always been very, weird to me."

Basil looked at the egg strangely, "How can an egg not like someone?" he shook his head at his own question, "I dunno...I think Val is a bit weird, but then who's to say what's weird and what's normal in this world. She still deserves to feel happy...though I am starting to think she might just enjoy being sour", he stood again and gently picked up the egg, "My house is getting crowded with all the new members that have arrived lately... I'm gonna be asked to help build an extention onto it soon, I just know it"

"This egg doesn't like me. It gets hot when I pick it up. Every time, never fails. But in someone else's hands it is just a normal egg." She flew up into a tree and sat down. "She is a demon after all. Evil is her speciality." She thought about how big her home was getting and thought they would have to move soon. "We might have to move into a mansion! I can hear it now Shera's Estate. That would be kind of cool."

Basil smiled "Heh yeah a mansion would be interesting...though you'd need to hire maids and butlers and stuff to keep it clean" he held the egg up to his ear and listened, "This little guy seems alot more active then the egg we have"

"Nah, most likely the people who actually live in the mansion would clean it up. Namely Val and Aiden..since they are the neat freaks." She watched him with the egg and noticed that it had cracked in one place. Before she could point it out a small demon chandra popped out from the egg and grabbed Basil's hair tightly.
