"I haven't anything that I'll miss, lets head out." She flicked her tail behind her and followed beside Cornelius giving only one backward glance at her modest high river home. She was truthful in that she would miss nothing there, except perhaps her solitude. Yet thinking on her pangs of loneliness she was certain that if she could gain a friend in Cornelius she wouldn't miss her quiet time alone one bit.
She glanced at Violet and gave the smaller otter a small smile. Maybe some friends were just what she needed.

He nodded his head and then let the two females go into the water first. He looked around, and then sniffed, just to make sure they weren't being watched and then he dived down into the water. He took the lead, guiding the way towards the family den, not minding that Violet was swimming around him in a playful manner.

Xylia swam steadily beside Cornelius glancing at him beneath and above the water as she followed. She grinned at Violet her eyes also tracking the small purple otter as she circled them in wild spins. There was a deep sense of calm within her, she hoped that Cornelius wouldn't mind her company but that was her only real concern.
Her mind however did process that something wicked had come into the peace of the oasis, and while it hadn't yet touched her, she wondered how others would get along. Cornelius had family, a group of otters, a territory that was protected, but many otters were solitary and spread about, small families lived where they pleased, they would all be prey to the new predators.
