He had indeed been following her but he broken off as something else caught his attention, something smaller then even himself. A rabbit! A grin crossed his features as he took after the small rabbit soon it darted toward where he had been headed. Charging quite noisily after the rabbit he watched it bound out into the open. First stopping behind a dark mound that was the mare before dashing over her and further away further out into the open. Nikolas wasn't too far from the small rabbit. His white hooves thundered against the ground. His head was low as he leaped over the mound and followed the rabbit. Gaining on it, he caught its hind quarters and crippled the rabbit.
The chase ended and he raised his head, the blood was already in the air, his lips were stained with it as he looked down at the frantic rabbit. Oh this was divine, not quite as rich as the blood of another, but it was something that would keep him going another day. Forgetting where he was, or whom might have been around, Nikolas grabbed the rabbit from the ground and tossed it into the air before catch it and biting down a bit hard. Perhaps it was out of his 'kinds' nature to feast on blood, but he wasn't exactly like all the rest of the earthbound, magic less soquili. He still needed to eat, to kill the thirst, he was forbidden to feast on other Soquili he had taken to small animals ones that some wouldn't care about.
His eyes were darker then black as the lust flourished deep within them. Ears back he let the sweet elixir drip down his throat, trailing down his tongue. Soon his eyes closed as he dropped the body of the rabbit, his stained tongue trailed over his lips smearing the blood around a bit before cleaning it away. For a time he merely stood there, his features quivering, shaking very softly as he felt the blood he had taken join up with his own. Ah, that was better. Now he wouldn't hunger every time he looked at someone... Or at least he would hope so.

Out of nowhere Nikolas came rushing out at her. A white rabbit crossed her sight first and headed futher away from her. Awnaety frowned as she watch Nikolas follow. His coat bouncing lightly in the dark and turning smaller and smaller. Why was he chasing after a rabbit like how two-leggers hunted animals. She could see a white spec, that would be the rabbit, and the big blob that caught up with it and soon the two white spots became one. They were too far to see what Nikolas had done. Awnaety pulled her head foward then back, and then squinted her eyes. Whatever was happening the white spec was no longer seen. Getting up, the mare wanted to know why he was chasing after a damn rabbit. Did the thing steal his precious berries? Awnaety chuckled and started trotting over to them. The white spec returned but it flew in the air and was caught by the stallion. Her pace now increasing as she thought she might have saw a bit of red, and soon her nose, even so far, caught the raw smell of blood. Frowning and continue to squint, she couldnt see any details until she gotten a little closer, much closer actually. The rabbit, which was no long seen as a spec, laid motionless on the ground. It was not resting, it was clearly dead. Her troubled eyes switched up to Nikolas who was licking his lips clean, but at the same time smearing the red substance. The very same feeling, cold shock ran down her spine. What in the world was he doing.
Did this mean, Nikolas had a kalona mother or father? Seeing that he thirsted for meat. Was he going to finish the meal and start tearing the creature apart. Awnaety frowned in disgust as she was dark but never dark enough to kill something. Her eyes trailed back down the the red stained animal. This was indeed blood that stains its flawless coat, the scent proved it very much so. The heart that laid within her seem to have skipped a beat. She was yet dealing with another vicious creature. Her face was emotionless, and she was not trembling for fear. Most weak ones most likely would have been. Just tilting her head at the stallion, she remained calm but inside her mind, she didnt know what to say. Nikolas didnt seem to have any more interest in the rabbit. How odd. Did he just had a rush to kill something. Little did she know that Nikolas had sucked the rabbit clean. The spirits voices seem to have disappeared and Awnaety thought about it. Perhaps he was going to bite her then? Made sense to why he was taking the sticks out of her mane. She crunched up her face and looked at him. If he even dared to....

Lost within his moment, he hadn't heard the mare come closer, he merely stood there letting the shaking subside. Giving himself a good shake his eyes opened and he just about jumped out of his own skin as he noticed that she was there and the look on her face wasn't exactly one he could have imagined she would give. Though he had only met this mare this night and soon, he felt, the night would be over. Much sooner then he would ever come to realize. Blinking a few times, Nikolas stared at the mare as if a child caught with his hand in the cookie jar, of sorts. Shock stricken, his tongue seemingly stuck to the roof of his mouth, he just stood there watching.
Turning around, now was his time to flee. Leaving the body of the rabbit behind, he bound through the open and into the trees that laid upon the other side at the base of the mountains. Now what was he scared of? Certainly not the mare, no that hadn't really scared him. Something else, something inside of him scared him more then she ever could. Waving through the trees he stopped a the entrance of his home with his brother. Stopping there for a moment he looked back toward the open valley outside the trees, wondering if he really should have lost his control that much... He couldn't think at the moment and merely stood there watching, wondering of her reaction, certainly his was questionable. That was certain to his mind's eye...

The stallion just noticed her, or judging by his reaction of widened eyes. Awnaety raised her eyebrow as she watched him rush away. Odd. What was up with him? Wouldn't he wish to show off his prefect win? Awnaety snorted and continued to stare into the trees darkness. Nothing there, he had left as his scent seem to floated off too. Her eyes fell onto the dead body. Something would come and finish the job. Awnaety snorted and turned around, perhaps she should walk to the mountains and stay there for a while. That is what she felt like. The dark mare looked back one last time at the one laid still and then she faced in the direction of a group of trees. Cross those and she'll be right by the mountains. The moon was just near the end of its shift. Morning would arrive. The breeze continued to make her hair dance as she walked into the woods. The area where she was with Nikolas remained silent. Berries still untouched laid there being its glossy self. Awnaety looked around, stepped towards it and curiously nipped one off the broken arm of the bush. A thorn touching her but not scaring her. The berry's taste wasnt something she enjoyed, a frown came to her face as she remember watching Nikolas devour them.
Wasnt sure if they were even edible. Her eyes stared into the darkness before her, she had much to go through before she could make it through the forest and the night. A sigh, and another look at the berries, then she was off to the mountains. Where she would rest there during day. Hopefully she wont have to encounter any more Soquilis. A yawn, which hinted she needed some sleep. One she is out of the dark forest, she'll rest.
