Kari jumped, only slightly as she heard someone behind her and glanced back over her shoulder to see Makala standing there, apparently trying to look angry. Kari blinked her navy eyes. "I'm just sitting here, looking at the water. Much like anyone else." She answered, in a very calm voice, motioning over to the lake as she spoke.

Makala tapped her foot impatiently, and smirked at the fact Kari had jumped, if only slightly. "Aw, did I scare the little Gryff?" she taunted. But her smirk faded and her eyes had a stony look about them in an attempt to make her seem angrier. "You're sitting under my tree," she snapped. The Gryffindor seemed unfazed, like Makala was a friend who had just asked what she was doing out of mild curiousity.

"I wasen't scared, just a bit startled." Kari tilted her head to the side, wondering what she could say to this girl. "Your tree you say? Well I didn't see any name on it so I thought it was fine to sit here. But, you can have it if you like." Replied Kari, as she stood up and stepped back, towards the lake. 'Is it even possible...to claim a tree like that?' She thought curiously.

Makala continued to glare at Kari. "Well, I can't honestly sit here now. Not after you've sat under it," she snapped. Why isn't this girl getting angry? she demanded in her thoughts. She looked her over. Even through her shortness, she manged to point her nose down at the third year. "What are you...half-blood? she asked with a hint of disgust in her voice.

Kari blinked innocently, surprised how someone could become so angry for such a little thing. "Well then I suppose your tree will be lonely then. Not having its owner sit with it." She claimed gently, linking her hands behind her back. Kari looked up into Makala's eyes as she continued to glare at her and then go on about...half-blood. "Wh-what I am shouldn't matter to you. It shouldn't matter to anyone..." She glanced sadly down at the ground.

Makala laughed coldly. "I suppose it could be worse. At least you've got some magical blood in your family." She rolled her cocoa brown eyes. This girl was obviously quite sensitive, if she was looking so sad just because of a comment about her heritage. She glanced around, wondering if there was anyone else around she could attempt to make angry. Kari was getting awfully boring to mess with.

While waiting, Moira found herself watching two girls close to the lake argue. She hadn't thought to interfere until she saw the Slytherin girl's expression. She was raging, for no reason, or so it seemed. And the other girl looked so sad. Moira didn't know her, but she looked so young, and so she got up softly stepped over to the tree. She got there just in time to hear the Slytherin make an offhand remark about the girl's heritage. That touched a nerve in Moira as well, although both her parents were pure bloods. She had no way of knowing if her birth parents were magical or not. At least not yet. She moved again, this time positioning herself behind the Gryffindor. "Is there a problem here, fourth year?"

"Oh, I don't doubt it." She glanced back to where Ascella was, glad that she was clearly out of ear shot. "She's not as innocent as she likes people to think." Morgan sneered a bit as she spoke. She hated people like that. Fake, attention seeking... Quickly regaining her composure, she busied her self by smoothing out her already tidy skirt.

Seamus began nodding while Morgan was describing the girl. It sounded about right. Not that there was anything wrong with attention. He liked it well enough. But fake. That was something he couldn't stand. He'd met a lot of other students in the schools he'd attended while traveling with his dad, and there were fake people in every one. He never thawed to them. He thought about how she had acted in the kitchen. "Yeh. I don't care much for her lot. Sickens me mostly." He shook his head. "She won't even use magic in the kitchen. Saw it myself."

Makala wrinkled her nose as Moira appeared behind Kari. "Another bloody Gryffindor?" she snapped, disgust seeping into her voice. "It's starting to smell out here." She glared at the seventh year, not at all intimitated by her age. "It's nothing that concerns you," she looked her over, trying to discern whether or not this girl was a pureblood, "Muggle-lover," she sneered. At least, that's what she took her as. Every pureblood Gryffindor she'd met in her life was a Muggle-lover. Why would this girl be any diffrent?

Kari continued to stare sadly at the ground. What Makala had been saying to her, about her, it made her really mad but she could nothing about it. She shut her eyes tightly since she felt like she was about to cry. Who cares if her Mother wasen't a Witch? Why should that change the way people looked at Kari? Her Mother was very loving and amazing, everyone, Muggle or Magical loved her Mother, it was hard not to.

As she was going on about this in her head, she jumped as she heard a voice behind her and glanced up to see Moira standing behind her. Her navy eyes widened slightly as she blinked at her, but it was evident in her face that she was glad Moira was here with her now.

Moira kept her unwavering stare on Makala. "I think I have to disagree, I feel pretty concerned." Moira raised an eyebrow at the muggle remark. "I usually feel that Slytherins are better seen and not heard, and this is no exception." Looking over the girl, Moira gave into the small rude vioce in her head, "From the looks of it, you aren't one to talk."

Morgan blinked at Seamus. "What do you mean she won't use magic? What's the point of going through magical training if not to use it?" The redhead adored being a witch and it irked her to see someone let their magic go to waste. Whether it be by never using it, or using it for frivolous things. But she also understood the value of hard work and sometimes found herself wanting to do things the old fashioned way. "Or the Muggle way, as it were." Morgan wasn't about to fill Seamus in on that last part though.

"I don't know why. She just didn't. S'not natural, going to magic school, being almost done even, and not using it." Seamus frowned. She should feel lucky. Or leave. Jana would happily take her spot, if Hogwarts would allow her. After the Beaubaxton incident, she'd be lucky if any school let her in. Seamus moved beyond the thought and looked at Morgan critically. "What were you doing in a tree?"

Makala's mouth fell open slightly, as if in shock. She raised a hand to her mouth and gasped. "Is that so?" she demanded loudly, her voice clearly betraying her anger. "Well, I'm afraid you are sadly mistaken, Gryffindor. I have some of the purest blood there is." she snapped. True, it was a lie, as her father had been a Muggle. But one wouldn't know that from the tone of her voice, and her face made the lie seemed quite convincing. "And I just so happen to believe Gryffindor's should snap their wands and join the Muggles they so deeply love."
