"Did you want me to set you up on the floor? I could put a blanket or a sleeping bag down for you, and as many pillows, if any, as you want. You're going to be spending a lot of time just healing, so I want you to be comfortable wherever you decide you want to be." Yes, he had used the word 'decide' and really only realized it after it had been spoken. But that was what it came down to. From now on, Tunda had the freedom to decide how his life was going to go. How liberating and terrifying it must be at the same time!

Tunda blinks, then shakes his head. "Y-You've gone through too much already for something like me... I'll simply stay where I've been set. After all, I'll heal better if I'm not moving around, right...?"

There's that 'thing' again. "Look at it this way, it is my job as your host to make sure you are completely happy. Whatever you want, within reason - and within my power to do - I will do to help make your stay here feel like home. So if you want me to move you to the floor, or if you want a hammock, or if you want a second mattress, or more pillows than the mountain you've already got, I'm going to do my damnedest to do. It's not because you deserve it as a person, but because you deserve it as a guest. And if you decide to stay permanently, it will extend to deserving because you live here and by extension you're part of my family and that's just how I run this place. Got it?" Mel stared at Tunda. "So. Bed or floor?"

Tunda blinks at the statement, looking down at his lap as if he'd just been scolded. His ears twitch slightly, then flatten against his head in thought before giving a meek reply. "W-wherever you want me to go, Master..." He said, forgetting yet again where he was and who he was talking to.

(( Mel: AAAARRGH!!! D<
That is all. xD; <3 ))
Mel fluffed up his hair with an aggravated growl. How am I going to get through to this guy? He's not stupid, but arrrgh... "Okay, fine. I think the bed will be better for you so I think you should stay there." In all likelihood his leg would hurt too much for him to roll over and fall off the bed, so he was probably safe.
Ice pack... He leaned over to pick up the ice pack then lifted Tunda's leg as gently as possible, wrapping it to cover as much of the joint as possible. "Leave it on for fifteen minutes at least. Then switch to the other side so it gets properly iced."
He stood up again and tilted his head slightly. "Is there anything else you need? Something to drink? When was the last time you ate?"
(( Saying 'yes mommy' might annoy him even more than master... but at least it would be good for a laugh. >> ))

((*snickers* Tunda and Mull just seem to bring that out in everyone lately, eh? XD Don't worry. He'll start developing a backbone sooner or later. *snicker*))
Tunda nods at the instructions, letting Mel know he'd heard the directions on both the bed and the ice pack. He looks up at Mel, then quickly down at his lap and shakes his head. "N-no thank you... Last time I ate w-was back at the s-shop..." He cut himself off, knowing he had just been about to say 'Master' again, but thinking he would be unable to change it to Mel in enough time to keep from frustrating the other.

(( xD I saw a bit of it at times, so I'm curious to see how he'll change... xD ))
"Well... all right... I guess that's it then," Mel frowned a little. He was hesitant to leave Tunda here alone. "So you'll be all right here? I mean, of course you will... you're not a child." Even little kids sleep alone, so why was he so worried? Maternal instinct! I really need to shake that... "All right then. My room's down the hall just a little ways, if you need anything. Says 'Janitorial Closet' on it. You can't miss it."
(( It's not really a closet. But you knew that. >>; ))

((LOL Yup. ^_^ I'm just hoping Tunda doesn't end up turning into another Mull. >_>; ))
Tunda thinks for a moment, then slowly shakes his head, his hands clenching into fists from where they were resting on his thighs. "I...I'll be alright..." He said slowly, almost uncertainly, having never actually slept in a room alone, it would definitely be something new for him. But then, this whole night had been new to him, had it not?

(( D< Nuuuu! Mel would kick his a**. x3 <3 ))
The dragon hesitated, chewing on his lower lip. "Do you... want me to stick around until you fall asleep?" Gah, there it is again...

Tunda blinks and looks up at the question, looking very much like a lost child at the moment, as if he couldn't make up his mind on what the answer should be. "N-Not unless you want to... I-It'd be better for me in the long run if I get used to b-being in a room alone... right...?"

"Right. Of course." Mel was suddenly at the door, swinging it open. "I'm down the hall. Good night." Then it was shut again he was on the other side. Why did all of that have to feel so complicated? I need a book. Or a stiff drink...

Tunda sits, staring at the door after Mel had shut it behind him. Did I say something wrong...? Maybe I should have said yes to him staying with me... He thinks to himself, curling up as much as his battered body would allow him to in the center of the bed, his injured leg held out straight to keep it from locking up or causing him pain, a small sniffle escaping him.

(( oky doky, skipping to the next day. <3 ))
Mel did not sleep well all night. Too many nightmares about demons plucking out his wings. He wasn't even used to having wings and they were already being taken away.
Waking to a room of perpetual twilight, he was tempted to go right back to sleep. But the moment he thought of his new housemate he was wide awake. Muzzy, but awake - nothing half a pot of coffee couldn't cure. He moved around sluggishly in his attempts to make himself presentable, which consisted of changing his clothes and brushing his teeth... and making sure his hair did not look too mussy.
Good. Now. Coffee...

((lol Tis fine with me. ^__^))
Tunda was actually up early, slowly getting used to his crutches. He had managed to track down the kitchen on his own and had barely managed to start up a pot of coffee as well as a small breakfast, just as Mel walked in the door. "Oh! Y-You're awake. Sleep well?" He asks, seeming a bit surprised that the other was up at that time of day.

The dragon stopped short upon seeing Tunda not only awake and using his crutches, but already eating his breakfast (which, presumably, he had fixed by himself along with a pot of coffee). "Why... how... wow." Slow-moving brain. He pointed at the coffee pot before making a bee-line for it. "Coffee first." Since coffee preceded breakfast today, Mel left it black out of habit. Then he crossed over sit on a counter top near Tunda. He looked at nothing in particular and his wings drooped a little. "Yeah... Slept like s**t." Tact... definitely lacking first thing.
After Cup Number One, the dragon was hungry and awake enough to get started on his own breakfast: eggs, bacon, and toast. While the former were sizzling in the pan, he turned back to Tunda. "Sorry... I'm not much of a morning person," he chuckled sheepishly. His voice was still almost as gravelly as Ignatius' but at least there was life to it. "Did you sleep all right? I know it's a strange room and all..."
