We could replace "examples" with a statistic and a reference right?

Phoenix315 We could replace "examples" with a statistic and a reference right? That'd go in there too, but seeing as how not everyone says how fast/strong/whatever they are, I settled on example for the general requirement..

Zelyhon Battousai Oni Well the idea is comic books by company and anime/manga by class because if we did the western characters by class there would be about four classes totally choked or fifty classes with two characters each. Conversely there's waaay to many companies for anime and manga to classify them properly. Of course this is just for organizing links, the actual information will be in seperate threads, one for each character or group depending on how much information there is. For example one thread for Superman (and maybe the superfamily) alone instead of a whole JLA one, and one thread for all the Saiyans. Okay. that's cool with me. I just misunderstood. I still think that maybe it might be better to arrange the manga/anime by series rather than by character class, because then not only do we avoid having to split characters from the same series into different groups, which might happen (like, putting angels and evas in different categories), we instead sort it by series classifications, like mecha, martial arts (which'd solve the Naruto and Ranma being above human, since it's all in that category), shoujo, and what have you. Either way works, I just see this as possibly being a little better organized. Weeeeell, we could always do a thread for an entire series and put the link under the category that the majority of the characters fall under.

That would make sense, but I'm not sure if there would be enough room on the first page for every character in certain series. Some animes have a ton of characters...
How would we do comic teams? Order it by who was on the team within a certain timeframe?

How would we do comic teams? Order it by who was on the team within a certain timeframe? I think we were thinking of having each character have their own thread, complete with discussion in the following posts, and having the stickies for comic company/genre/whatever, link to these. I was simply proposing that we organize those links for anime and manga through genre and series rather than character archetype.

Especially on things like DB/Z/GT and many of the comic book teams.

Plus, if they're all linked from the stickies, it wouldn't be that hard to find what's needed, I don't think.

One character = one thread seems overexcessive to me.
with the Avengers, the JLA, an even naruto that would be a pain to do so many new threads.
Mabye organize comics by classes (Super-athlete, Mutant, mechanical, magical...totem?)
And for anime have a thread for each of the teams in that general series (IE: one thread for Sano/Kenshin/Karu/Yahiko/Saitoh/ect, a separate thread for Shisio's group and anouther for the Oniwabbon, All under the Kenshin series in the main linking thread)
Did that make sense?

But it'd also make it very hard to keep track of non-bio threads and we'd end up with pages and pages of bio threads and nothing else in the guild. I think teams should be able to be fine in their own threads.

I see your point, especially with how many threads we create, but I don't think it'd be so easy to sort comic characters into classes like that. I think another way, if we do want several per thread, would be to pick several people of the same team, maybe similar, maybe not, and put their stuff in the same thread in groups of 5 or so. Sorting it by class seems impractical. If you put "Mutant" as a single class, you've got all the X-teams to put in there. If we break it up rather into smaller groups of members of the same team, then it could still be linked and organized easily (as we can say who's in what) without having as many threads as one character pre thread. And the discussions could still go well. And for series without excessive characters, then we can decide whether we need to put all of them together or not.

True. the Mutants would be a problem. what if we organize huge roster teams like the X-men by time period? This team from *insert time here*
That way we could divde it from the Original team through the changes up untill the current members. I can't think of an easier way to do X-men, Avengers, or JLA

I can't think of an easier way to do X-men, Avengers, or JLA If we do do it in groups of 5, then there would at least be fewer threads. As far as time periods go, I say just stick characters with where they're most associated. Thus, Beast is in X-men rather than Avengers, Scarlet Witch is in Avengers rather than the BoEM, and so on. Plus, I think for the most part, as long as we don't start mixing licenses, it'll be okay.
