"I can take care of myself! Sure---I'm young, I'm naive---I've heard it all before! But it's my life and my choices...isn't it? And yeah, we just met so I'm sorry I put you on the spot" she blurted back. She wasn't screaming so much as huffing and cursing herself under her breath. "Not for you...huh...sorry" she replied again after catching her breath, "Sorry you're not a stronger stallion." She wasn't sure if she was trying to insult him or not, she felt being a loner was a weakness. Running away and excusing it as 'adventuring' was something she'd once done. It doesn't change a hurtful past, doesn't erase the pain. "Sorry I read you wrong. Sorry I'm a dunce who falls head-over-heels to fast---" she continued, still upset. He would probably go now. Any other stallion would. It was clear he didn't want to venture here but she didn't care. He could sulk at the beach alone if he wanted. She could find better things to do that follow a sorry for himself stallion.

Albert flicked his ears backward in agitation, though he kept his tone calm. You might not see me as strong, and that's alright. Each is entitled to their own opinion. But I made a promise, and I will keep it until the day I die. And quit saying your sorry. There's nothing to say 'sorry' about. Do not apologize for your opinions. if there is anything you learn from me, may it be that. He took a deep breath, trying to keep himself calm. You probably can take care of yourself. I know nothing about you, and hopefully, I can learn more at one point. Though, if you feel it for the best to part company, I shall not think ill of it or you.
not a strong stallion? he thought sadly with mirth. I have roamed this road now for a long time. My friends, I don't know if they survived, and many died. I had to leave. That puts a strength in you that no one should have. I hope that you yourself never have to tear yourself away from those you love. To know you will never see them again, and to know you have toleave so that they will no longer be in danger. The strength to know that you will never have a place to call home again. The strength to travel the road. Meru, I would rather be a weak stallion again, then have the strength I do now. I would rather truly feel again, then suffer from a wound that beats painfully in my chest. I rather wish I could find love again, and know that they would not be in danger. I would love to find a thicket and raise a handful of foals. That is my dream. That's what I once was. You have no idea how much I want to be weak again.

Meru had noticed his ears. Noticed he didn't fancy this any longer. She would end it soon then and trouble him no more. "You seem to know what you want. But is it what you really want?" Meru began slowly, "I left everything too. But I seek what good things could lie ahead. Where is wandering getting you? No closer to healing, no closer to a new life. If you can't go back then go ahead. You're not going 'ahead.' You're going in circles." She sighed heavily. "I know we are not all alike, you can choose your life---your path. But it doesn't sound like a fruitful or fun one. But hey---enjoy it?" she finished. Through the chaos she'd made up her mind---she was going to go see the ocean. With or without him. It was important to her to visit a new place and she wanted more than anything for it to inspire her...maybe now calm her nerves and bring her tranquility. Something about the sound of the sea made her feel so attached to it. It was like it was calling to her---. She closed her eyes. "I wonder what the sea smells like...and the breeze must be misty and wonderful..." she thought outloud.

He closed his eyes for several moments, taking several deep breaths, before he started to chuckle, and his ears flicked forward; his jade-green eyes opening, as he shook his head slightly at himself. Maybe you're right. I haven't had much fun in my journey, even though I used to have the grandest adventures on the road in my youth. I know you would have loved those. I never came home clean. I was usually covered in mud and dirt, with snarls everywhere in my mane and tail. And now that I think of it, I haven't done anything like that since I left. he shook himself vigorously, as if shedding the bad thoughts and memories for now.
I have to apologize Meru. It has been some time since I've had a companion, and I'm afraid I've fallen by the wayside in my understanding again of anyone. May I ask for your forgiveness on this, and maybe a little patience as I know at some point later, I will probably put my hoof in my mouth again. You have permission to kick me if I do. He gave an eloquent bow, then took a few steps back in the direction they had been going, before stopping to look back at her.
Oh, and it smells like salt and seaweed. Though, if you want to know what seaweed smells like, I just happen to be heading to the ocean, if you would like to accompany me. I know a few seagulls that could use some chasing, and there may just be a friend there if you would like to meet him.
Maybe I have just been chasing my tail. In my years on this path, I have not made a single close friend. I have had no place to call home. I have not even tried to find a pretty filly or mare to settle with, and maybe have my own thoughts of children, though I find my thoughts wondering to what it would be like. I have lived to survive, and that is all. Maybe, it's time to live... to live.

Meru pondered kicking him now. But instead she too laughed. "Loss is indeed a terrible burden, but don't bear it alone...you can't be scared of sharing pains or hardships" she added, smiling. Her usual chipper attitude was returning to her now. She practically bounced at the sound of the sea again. "Well---let's leave our troubles behind and hurry to the sea! It's practically shouting my name!" she giggled, giving Al a friendly hip-to-hip bump to encourage cheerful behaivor.

Albert couldn't help but smile, especially at her little hip-bump, and started out at the pace they had originally begun with; the ground-eating lope that could be kept almost indefinitely, and would not wear them out to fast. Well, then. We had better get there. I think you will really like watching the waves. There's nothing else like it, and no way to really describe it.

Meru easily matched his pace. The waves sounded inviting. "I can't hardly wait to run through the waves~!" she chirped happily. "What do you look forward to doing there? You think we'll meet anyone" she asked Al, who was ever so slightly ahead of her. "Are there mersoquili? I've head legends---" she began, trailing off. A new smell was in the air, they must be drawing near.

Where we are, the water is actually warmer then in other parts of the ocean. So, it won't be nearly so cold to go running through. They were making their way up the hill, on that he knew would show the ocean when they reached the peak. And we may or may not meet anyone, but there are mer Soquili. In fact, I hope he's here. I can introduce the two of you.

 Ashutosh swam lazily along the shoreline... it was just such a warm day out... he figured he would try to see who would come and visit today

The sea was warm?! Ooooh "So there are mer Soquili?! How exciting! And you know one?" Meru was boucing about after him now. The beach was just beyond them now. Meru could hardly contain herself, she went bolting ahead of Albert, skidding to a halt as soon as sand was benieth her hooves. "It's soft!" she giggled, looking down and sifting some around. The breeze smelled salty indeed. The water was right before her---best to wait for Al to catch up before she went sprinting in... she thought. And to introduce her to his friend of coarse.

He followed after her, moving towards the moving ocean. It still always surprised him to see the ocean move, and how creatures could live in the waves. He spotted a movement out in the water, and moved so that his hooves were submersed in the water. Hello there, he called out to the sea, and waited to see if the other would hear him.

In waiting, Meru took Al standing knee deep as a sign she could splash about, so she did. Hoping what she was doing would draw attention of creatures rather than scare them off. "Whee it's warm yet cool and fun and wet! It feels good!" she cheered, spushing about. A sneaky wave caught her from behind, soaking her bow and back up to her neck. Her clothes were now stuck to her body. She paused, then laughed. What a fool she was making of herself, but this was such a beautiful place.

Ash was about to reply to the shout with a Hello back when something caught his eye. A Soquili splashing amongst the waves...this struck him so much he began to laugh... a deep belly laugh.
He swam up to where the one was standing still. "Hello there, my name is Ash, How may I help you?"
