JoJo watched with a small measure of satisfaction as Tood fed the judge a bunch of lies, and got him once again to sit in the fateful chair. He closed his eyes as he heard them start the song as though they had never left off, feeling another thrill as Todd's soft "Yes" soothed the moment for him.
He listened to the rest and marveled at what he thought was the neatest part of the movie; that fateful three seconds before the judge's realization, where the music still played as merrily as though nothing horribly was about to commence. He thought it was masterful on the part of the movie people; it drove home just how unexpected the final scene had been.
Despite his lack of love for the judge, he still couldn't help but wince as the shout was called out and the razor came down to stab cruelly into the judge's neck, blood spattering so high it hit the glass on the skylight, and the grotesque way the blood spurted from the neck at intervals, in sync with the judge's failing heartbeat. He was glad when Todd finally dropped the body.
Then the scene took a frightening turn when Todd discovered a disguised Johanna in his trunk. JoJo's eyes were wide as he watched; he knew what was to come, but it did nothing to change the overwhelming feeling of irony; had he just waited a few moments, he might have had everything he wanted in the first place since he had set foot in London. But all in the name of vengeance, it was all slipping through his fingers like fine sand.
