For a little while at least, tricking people didn't matter so much to Criofan. After all, he already got what he usually tricked people out of: some kind of possession. In this case, it was shining beads and beautiful golden bowls. "They're so beautiful. Wonder who left these here?" He chuckled. "Ah well. Finders keepers."
Zuri briefly thought of going closer and getting a look at one of the items himself, but then the skirted naiad decided that he would be better off not touching any of the items. Instead, he skipped up to Criofan and observed the items he held. "See? Exploring is more fun than tricking people!" The leprechaun wouldn't answer that.

"Maybe it was just left behind." Mei Lien said as she looked at the items Criofan was so excited over. "The HQ has been here a very long time." Mei Lien went to the box of clothes, as treasures weren't as interesting as dressing up. She grabbed a skirt and pulled it on. "Hey, I match you now, Zuri." She giggled and rifled through some more.

"Hm, you do have a point. Wonder how ancient these treasures are..." Criofan's eyes sparkled briefly, before he realized what else was in the room. Well, if there were also costumes in there, chances were that this room was probably visited more often than not. These treasures couldn't have been that old. Oh well, they were still shiny and they were still his now.
The naiad found Criofan amusing, and snickered at his continuously changing expressions. Then, he turned his attention to Mei Lien and nodded. "Wow, you're right! Cool, now we match! Criofan, you should come join us; costumes are fun." With a firm nod, Zuri dug into the pile and took out a golden scarf. Snickering, the naiad put it on and then flicked what little hair he had in an attempt to look rich.

Mie Lien giggled at Zuri and then found a cape to put on over her shoulders. "Maybe we can pretend to be the riches paes on Telruyna!" She found a small hat with a bunch of feather potruding from the top and put it on next.

Well, they did sound like they were having some fun. Convinced by Zuri and Mei Lien's mention of being the richest paes on Telrunya, he decided to take some of his new golden discoveries and stroll over. "Alrigh'! Zuri, ya' got a fancy robe in that there pile?" Well, shiny things certainly made him behave a bit differently.
Not that Zuri would complain. When Criofan walked over and asked for a robe, the skirted little boy grinned and clapped. "Yeah, yeah!" The naiad dived into the pile, taking a few seconds before lifting a small red robe over his head. "Here ya' go!" And suddenly, Zuri was looking elsewhere. "I like your hat, Mei Lien! It's got lots of feathers and feathers are really pretty." The cheerful child climbed to the top of the pile so he could touch the feathers on Mei Lien's hat.

Mei Lien giggled and let Zuri see the feathers. "Hey, how about this boa too?" She grabbed a long boa and wrapped it around her shoulders. She found another one and threw over Zuri, "We match!"

Matching was fun! Zuri strutted off the pile of clothes with a goofy grin dancing on his face. "I'm going to be Prince Zuri," declared the silly little naiad. Then, he glanced up to Mei Lien. "And you'll be Queen Mei Lien, 'cause you're really pretty like a queen and you're wearing really royal clothes. Criofan can be the jester 'cause he looks really gaudy."
Zuri Seabrook did have a point. Criofan was wearing very shiny, obnoxious things that he had found within the pile. While his golden skin already sparkled, the gaudiness of his outfit alone made it seem blinding. "Hey!" The leprechaun gave a joking pout.

"Queen Mei Lien, I love that." She giggled and then found a septer. She started waving it around, "Ok, jester, dance for us. Make Prince Zuri and I laugh!"

Zuri clapped his hands together eagerly at the idea of Criofan dancing for them. That would be fun! He had never seen Criofan dance before so that probably meant he couldn't dance, right? People who were not so good at dancing were the funniest!
In some other moods, Criofan would scowl and refuse to obey such a silly order. However, with the shine of gold and a good feeling in his heart, he jokingly went into a rather jaunty jig. Zuri giggled and cheered for the jester's dance. Admittedly, for being thrown together, Criofan wasn't all that bad.

Mei Lien giggled at Criofan. "You have amused me, Jester." She nodded her head to him with her most regal expression. "Have a gold coin." She tossed him a gold coin she found in one of the purses. She didn't know if it was real or not, but didn't care.

Criofan's sky blue eyes sparkled like the gold piece in his hand. It would take a little bit of closer inspection to tell if it was real or not, but it hardly mattered at the moment. It was another shiny to add to the collection he had already found. His grin was winsome when he looked back to the two of them.
Zuri couldn't help his laughter. Criofan was fun when he was given shiny things. Maybe he should show Criofan shiny things more often! It would be lots of fun. "Criofan gets silly when you give him shiny things. Give him another!" encouraged Zuri, giggling.

"Only if he amuses me some more." She winked at Zuri, trying to keep up the role as Queen. "Would you dance again, or maybe tell us a joke?"

He certainly wanted more shiny things to add to his collection. Unfortunately, Criofan, though he was a great trickster, wasn't necessarily the best comedian. The leprechaun could dance some more, though. So, after pondering dramatically, he threw himself into another dance, kicking his legs out to the side every once in a while.
The little naiad was nearly roaring with laughter. Criofan had never been so entertaining. Zuri needed to find new people and drag them into coming with him more often! "Bravo, Jester O'Kane! Bravo!"

"Yes, bravo!" Mei Lien threw him two pieces of gold this time. "That was worth two gold pieces, I would say." She then rifled through some more boxes and came up with a crown, "Ooh, now I really can be Queen!"

Well, now Mei Lien and Zuri Seabrook definitely wouldn't have to worry about following along with any of Criofan's tricks. After all, the leprechaun was distracted by the three shiny gold pieces he now possessed. How much were these worth? Were they worth lots? Would he even want to spend them? Were they real? Questions flooded the jester's mind..
Zuri's eyes sparkled at the crown. "Wow, that's really pretty," offered the red naiad, fascinated. "Do they have a prince crown in there too, Queen Mei Lien? Perhaps a silly jester's hat too!"
