Richard nodded, glad. Part of him wanted to go back to the hotel to lie down, the other just wanted a hard drink of something, but the overwhleming part of him just wanted to stay there with Lorey. It seemed like all the pain he felt, both emotional and physical, just seemed to vanish...

As they sat and relaxed a bit, Lorey's exhaustion came back even worse than before. With a small sigh, she tilted her head to rest on Richard's shoulder with a dreamy, distant look in her eyes.
"I still say you need to ice that face of yours," Lorey said with a comical, gentle annoyance.

Richard chuckled to himself before placing a hand on her head. "In due time...But for now..." He slipped his arm under her knees, supporting her back with his other. "You need some sleep...." He stood, smiling down at her before looking up at the sky. It was usually so smoggy on Veratia, it was hard to see the stars, but tonight, they shone brightly overhead, sparkling and twinkling as were Richards eyes.

Lorey giggled in such a charming way that could make anyone warm inside as he scooped her up. Richard was officially her prince, and nothing could undo that in her heart.
After taking a long look at the stars herself, she wiggled her feet.
"And where will I sleep? Just like this?" even though her heart was racing so that there was no chance of it happening quickly.

"If you'd like..." He joked, looking down at her with tender affection. "I'm afraid I've dragged you all over this town, so I'm thinking its time we headed back...I'm sure Deilita and Vi will have some room. I did make a promise to return after all..." He added, remembering that he had come out after her for a reason tonight. Enty seemed to agree, since he himself was half asleep. So he stood and started towards the exit, stopping to see if Richard was coming.

"You hardly dragged me," she corrected. "But, let's go back. I hope I don't run into Heany..." Relaxation was the only choice she had in his arms. But, it was alright. The way he looked at her, the way he held her, it seemed alright. Of course it had only been hours since her world seemed to tumble down, yet already it was being rebuilt little by little.
Lorey rested her head against him, closing her eyes a bit as he began to walk.

Jes smiled as they entered the park though shrugged too his suggestion. "Its not men's attention I want..." She sighed. "Its just very complicated..." She tried to brush it off, thinking a moment about what he had just said.
"...You think I'm beautiful?" She asked suddenly, a genuinely perplexed look on her face. In reality, Jessica had never been told she was beautiful. Well she had but in more derogatory ways. She had never been called any form of attractiveness by someone so plainly and genuinely, without an alternative motive.

The park was lit beautifully by the city. Everything was made to seem welcoming and safe, but it didn't keep him from looking into the dark every now and then, and listening intently to the world around them just to keep them both safe.
"It's pretty obvious. You just are. Why?" he asked, looking at her as they walked. It had become a leisurely pace, as she didn't seem to be in a hurry to really get anywhere, wherever it was he had agreed to walk with her.
"Don't you know that?"

She raised an eyebrow and gave him a look. "Well I know that any woman despite actual beauty could wear a get up like this and have some man doting over her appearance... Its just how things are." She shrugged. "You wont believe me when I say I've never necessarily paid attention to my own looks..." She smiled, looking around at the park before them.
"Ah I love it here..." She sighed softly, looking up ahead. "I used to come here all the time as a child with my sister... in fact..." She bit her lip and jogged ahead, gracefully really despite the shoes over to a tree behind a fence. She laughed then pointed to one of the few carvings on the tree. "This is ours..." She smiled warmly, pointing out the worn and faint etching that read "Jes and Robin" in scratchy letters. She smiled up at the old tree. "Even recently I've spent a few nights here...Its the only place I really feel home anymore..." She sighed, taking a short break on the bench to rest her sore feet. She may have been sued to the heels but they still hurt after awhile.

Alex watched her flit over to where her tree was, and even joined her in looking at the old heart. So... she did have one of her own, only it was hidden within the carvings. But who were the names?
"I... just realized I never really introduced myself. I'm Alex."
He turned away from the tree to present her with his hand, held out for a hearty shake. If she even wanted to get to know him after their day seeing each other, it would be a true miracle.

She laughed. Whole heartedly for some reason. "Nice to meet you..." She smiled genuinely, shaking his hand with a sigh as she stood a bit and slipped off his jacket.
"And I suppose goodnight. Thank you for walking be from the cafe..." She smiled, looking down as she shivered slightly.
"I was just planning on sitting here for a few hours...then call a cab to head home..." She explained, sitting again and looking up at him, her eyes big and blue and actually friendly. Not on the defensive like they were earlier.

Instead of just taking that as his cue to go, Alex sat right down next to her. This girl must have been absolutely loony. Beautiful, but loony.
"Well now, I just walked from there to here with the intention of keeping the creeps at bay, and now you're saying I should leave you alone here, at night? I thought you said you had a place to go if you didn't want to be home."
Honestly, he didn't know why he cared. Aside from her being pretty, she didn't seem too different from anyone else that would come into the cafe. Maybe it was his history major doing the information digging for him. He wanted to know where she had come from, what had brought her there to this park bench, and how that heart could be so important for her...
Alex just wanted to know.

"I usually come here every night and just sit for an hour two and just think...Then call for a ride home..." She explained, looking up at the sky. "I generally have no trouble." She shrugged with a sigh.
"its/...kinda a personal attachment that i've got to this place...." She smiled sadly, looking down before meeting his soft purplish eyes.
"...Huh you have the most fascinating eyes..." She noted, cocking her head as she studied them. "They're gorgeous..." She smiled, looking down again.

"Trying to pay me back for what I said to you?" Though his face was turned away just so she wouldn't see his cheeks pink just the slightest. He knew purple eyes were something to marvel at sometimes. Especially since they didn't match his hair color at all. But that was about the only remarkable thing he could say about himself with ease. Everything else was just him, and nothing more.
"Well thanks... I think. Anyhow, hey, I understand that. I just don't like women being alone at night around these parts. It's not safe."
That being said, he slipped his jacket around her shoulders again, as if to say with one gesture that he wasn't going to leave.

She smiled shyly, sighing as she leaned back. "I'm sorry you have to waist your time like this...I'd usually go ahead and call for a ride but Tonight ecspecially I just dont want to get home...I'm ...a little... ok pissed off right now...I mean...I dont want to sound bratty but...it is my birthday...you think my father would have come home to at least wish his baby girl a good day...even give her a kiss...." She frowned softly, swallowing as she got another chill, finding herself leaning into alex for more warmth.
"But thats alright...I deep down understand why he wouldn't come nad I dont blame him...sometimes its just...too painful..." She looked back with a sad expression to the tree. Though she realized he must be confused.
"Um...It's my sister..." She explained briefly. "I hope you dont mind if I dont go into it...its very personal...I Will say though...she died....years ago. When I Was very young. It really destroyed my family...my father is still grieving... So he's barely home because he doesnt want to think about her...I dont blame him..." She shrugged lightly, playing with her handsto keep them warm as she stared down at her lap.
