My parents made me and I loved it. It basically wouldn't have a life if I didn't stick with band.

I just love the sound, the beat, every good thing about it. That's why I gave it a try for myself if I love music enough to play one. (:

before I started the 7th grade, my best friend was interested in a band camp so I went with her. She decided to stop and since I liked it, I continued on.

in the fifth grade I hated recess so I joined band. I was a strange kid. But I'm glad I joined because band has always given me something to look forward to everyday.

I joined band in High School just because I was sought after by the band director, basically. I had no intention of being in band in High School. I didn't know I'd end up loving it. But before that I had been playing music classically since I was in 3rd grade. I chose clarinet because it seemed challanging. And now I've been playing it for 13 years. Instead of doing band I would have done track and field and drama club all four years. I did drama club and track and field my freshman year along with band, but I went into band leadership for 10th-12th grade. So I couldn't really have any side activities. Trumpet. It is what I play on the side anyway. Its really helpful when playing clarinet also, makes you use more air. =]
I miss band. =P

my family has a history in music, so i didn't really have a choice. i chose flute because we had one and i don't regret the desiscion because flute is awesome. if i didn't join band i wouldn't have the friends i do now and i'd be bored. I'd play saxophone or clairenet.

Why did you join band? in truth it was to get out of gym.. but then i actually liked it
Why did you pick the instrument that you did? because my cousin played it and it looked cool
What do you think you would be doing if you didn't join the band? gosh... i don't know.. playing basketball??
What instrument, if any, would you play if you didn't pick the one you did? i wouldn't... trombone is the best instrument ever and there is no replacing it!!

why did I join band? (long explaination) When I was little I had a little plastic trumpet that played different songs when you pushed different buttons on it, and whenever the bands would come and play for my elementery school, I just wished I could play an instrument...
in grade seven I tried joining the band, but I couldn't get an instrument, which made me wnat to join even more (always want what you can't have), ten in grade eight, I tried joining band, but I moved to a new city early in the year and didn't get into a school until november and they said it was too late to join...wanted to join even more...and then in grade nine I finaly joined, realised that music was one of my few talents, and I've stuck with it ever scince...
why did I pick the instrument I play?I didn't pick one instrument, instead I'd made it my lifes dedication to play all instruments...
what would I be doing if I didn't join band? I'd be the biggest math/science nerd ever...oh wait...ok, so I wouldn't have changed in the least, aside from always thinking "I SO want to play that in band!" when I watch a movie...
What would I be playing if I didn't choose that instrument? obviously nothing, if I chose to play all of them...

I joined band because my friends were in it and it seemed a lot better than my current elective, a class to help us with test taking skills, and I loved it right away; I chose to play baritone because it was different and it was what my friend played and I've never regretted it since. I've been playing baritone since fifth grade, about seven years, and trombone since ninth, about two and a half, but if I weren't in band I don't know what i'd be doing and I don't want to think about it. I wouldn't choose any instrument besides baritone, I love it, I'm DI, section leader, in my high school marching band, and I'm planning on trying out for a Drum Corps, but if I had to choose, probably tuba or trumpet.

I'm not gonna lie. I HATED band growing up =/ i joined in 5th grade when we first got band as a program at our school. my mom wanted me to pick flute or clarinet, THANK GOD i picked trombone. i just liked the slide, i thought it was pretty cool. i liked it for awhile, then all my friends started quitting and i wanted to too. my mom wouldnt let me though =/ By the time i got to 8th grade, I wanted to not go on into high school band, since the only people i thought would be there were losers =/ i hated it freshman year, but by the time i got to band sophomore year, i absolutely loved it. if i had liked band sooner, my talent would probably be much higher. unfortunately being a junior i'm still not as good as some of the people my age that play trombone. but i love it nonetheless!!! =DD proud to be a band nerrdddd. =D
if i didnt join band, i chances are would be hanging out with all the creepy girls who have no lives with boys and drama. as much as i absolutely love trombone with a passion, if i could learn baritone, that would be the next best thing.

I wanted to because I loved to play music (I had started playing the piano 2 years earlier.)
I chose the clarinet, I don't know why. I just did. But I'm glad I did, now I'm first chair in my schools top band (which has been billed as the best band in texas) And then back in April I was fourth chair when my band performed at Carnegie Hall.
Band is probably the best extra-cirricular that exists. smile

I've wanted to play the flute since I saw one of my mom's friends playing at my mom and dad's wedding. I joined marching band so that I didn't have to take P.E. redface
