Thank the band gods that our floor is tile. The middle school, however, had carpet. And it's older than the high school. About, 30 years, maybe?
The only bad part about tile is the puddles. It kinda soaked in when we had carpet so you didn't notice it as much.

Well, our band room has no spit on the carpet. Because there is no carpet. xD
We just got a new music department, which rocks, but things aren't totally set up yet, and we don't have a carpet. Probably won't 'til next year.
But I'd rather have our old room. I miss it, as sad as that is. xD

out band room doesnt have carpet. but on the trumpet/ trombone raisers we have there is so many spit stains and puddles after practice you have to jump to the percussion/tuba raiser to avoid getting it on your shoes!

At my middle school I filled up my trombone all the way with water and walked around in lazy circles around the band room emptying it out of the spit key. I stained it somehow and my middle schoo bd pretty much hated me after that. xD
We got a new band room this year, so I guess it's 0 years. =O
But I've already stained the floor tons of times because I never use a rag to clean it up. I don't think the bd knows it's me yet though. xD

Roughly 3 years...they replaced it after it started to mold from alot of years of spit......lol...but the BD now requires a spit rag and we get into trouble if spit is found upon teh floor... rolleyes

we had our carpet clean by a professional carpet cleaner so its a clean stale for everyone....

we play in the basement of the school which includes a boiler room and stuff so there r centipedes and water bugs. that's why there isn't a carpet.

Ah my school is only 8 years onld and we have tile not carpet soooo yea not that bad. Unfortunatly thier is another school in my county that is 100 yes 100 years old. Imagine that people imagine that, tho they have tile to and Im sure they remodled at some point in time. But stilll

Our band room is brand new and it has a hardwood floor! I think they mop it often, too. So we don't have much for spit! Yay! Not like it really matters though - I've spent so much time in the band rooms of my middle and high school, and they had carpet floors... You learn to get over it, once you realize there's nothing you can do and you really like sitting in the band room.
