Stunned, Latte stumbled back a couple of steps, flinching at Itomaru's words. He didn't want to hurt anyone; the fireball had come out by accident. "You stay in here, Yuri. If anyone's going to hurt, you'll be safe. Don't worry, I won't harm your parents. I'm going to go out by myself. If I get hurt, don't worry."

Saying that, he brushed past Shade without another word and up out of the hole. He stared defiantly at the ground, hoping that no one was going to be hurt.

Shade watched as Latte climbed out of the hole with a look of suspicion on his face, then turned back at Yuri. He didn't sense any more violence in the air, so his tension immediately went away. Meowing a little, he walked up and affectionately rubbed his head against her.

Zinnia looked down at the ground, feeling very confused. There was a torrent of emotions battling within her. She was relieved to see that Yuri is alright, disappointed that she chose to run away, angry at Latte's actions toward Itomaru and herself, and overall upset that it was just yesterday that she told Itomaru that Latte seemed like a good individual. With all this emotion going through her, she didn't even know where to begin. An overwhelming desire to give him a lecture began to build within her, along with the desire to call him idiotic for his actions which have done more bad than good. She took in a deep breath, organizing her thoughts, and knew exactly where to begin. "What on earth was going through your mind?"

Itomaru watched Latte emerge and continues to glare at him. He waited in silence for a moment before glancing back towards the hole. Yuri was still in there, but he would give her a few minutes to get her story straight before forcing her to come out. He remained quiet as Zinnia spoke.

Yuri watched as Latte walked out, feeling bad to let him face her parents alone. But she didn't want to face them now, she couldn't. She lay her head on her paws in the hole and sulked. She glanced up when she heard the mew and saw Shade. She raised a paw to lightly pet him before whispering, "So you hate him too?"

When Latte raised his head up again to look at Zinnia again, there was nothing but despair in his eyes. Small clouds of steam rose from his head as he trembled with the effort of not wailing out loud. "It...it was impossible. From the beginning. I knew that ever since my dad made you guys angry, I'd never be able to see Yuri again. I'm sorry for taking her away, but I know sorry isn't enough. Don't punish her. It was all my fault. Please punish me instead."
He bowed his head down, unable to look back up, waiting for his punishment.

Millennia made her way through the brambles, following their scent trail. When she saw them, she stayed silent, observing their actions. She stood in place as Latte spoke, but didn't do anything.

Shade nuzzled Yuri, purring some. He wasn't sure what he thought about Latte, since he hardly knew him. It would require more time and study to determine what his thoughts toward Latte would be.

Zinnia sighed. "First of all, I'm not your mother. I can't punish you even if you want me to. Second of all, it was not impossible. If you had stopped to think of what could possibly happened you would have seen that."

She took a deep breath, preparing to say something she'd been mentally preparing for the entire time she'd been chasing them. "I realize you couldn't have known this, but I had spoken to Itomaru about the restriction. I didn't agree with it, because even if your father acted poorly it did not necessarily mean that you or your siblings would. He said he needed some time to think about it. Really, running away only enforced the idea that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"Also, do you realize how close you two are to being adults? And really, once Yuri becomes an adult if you really wanted to go see you there is no way we could really stop her. We could frown upon it, but she wouldn't be a child anymore. As an adult she could make her own decisions, and the only thing we could do is offer advice and opinions.

"Speaking of being close to adulthood, do you realize how childish it is to run away? Not to mention how selfish. Did you even stop to think of how worried your own parents would be? Really, running away shows that you are narrow-minded, showing that you only care about your own wishes, and I suppose Yuri's in this case as well. So rather than jumping the gun and bolting, you should have thought a way to show us that you're a good namir so that we'd be okay with you being friends with our daughter. Instead, you've only shown the exact opposite, doing you more harm than good."

Zinnia then ceased talking, feeling fairly certain that this was the most she's ever said at one time in her whole life. She may have said that she couldn't punish him, but that lecture just might have been worse than any punishment she could think up.

Itomaru listened as Zinnia spoke. She was correct, and he couldn't think of anything better to have said. He glanced over his shoulder to see Millennia, but ignored her for now.

Yuri continued to lie in the hole, close to crying. They were going to come back, they didn't mean to make her parents worry. Everything Zinnia said was stabbing her through the heart, making her feel worse, and worse. She halfheartedly scratched at the walls, just wanting to disappear.

Latte couldn't stop himself now. Her words stabbed at him like an icy blade. His tears started rolling down his cheeks, vaporizing halfway down. "I...I didn't k-know," he sobbed, burying his face in his thick fur. "I didn't want to leave, honest. Do you think I would just willingly leave my own parents?" He screwed his eyes shut, just wanting it to all stop. "I d-don't know what to do anymore."

At this, Millennia stepped out of the shadows, aware at how awkward it was for her. But she was a diplomat, and she was excellent as setting these things right. "Latte," she said softly. "Get up. I already knew that you were going to go away some day. It wasn't my job to stop you. You needed to learn you were wrong by yourself."

Zinnia watched as Millennia stepped from the shadows, and listened to what she had said. She couldn't tell if she was mad that Millennia didn't do anything, but what she said made sense. The only way to get through to your children would be to make them realize and accept that what they did was wrong. She remained silent for now, letting Millennia do the rest of the talking to Latte.

Itomaru flashed his gaze to Millennia as she walked out, assuming she was going to do so eventually. He would rather her be out in the open than hiding as she was. He listened to her speak, and was slightly annoyed by her. If she knew he was going to try and run why couldn't she try and talk some common sense into him? Still, she was correct in a way. He glanced down at the hole and wondered when Yuri would be joining them.

Yuri continued to lie on the tunnel floors, scratching at the walls with limp claws. She didn't want to have to come out and face her parents; she had betrayed them. She left without any notice, and hadn't planned on returning until kits of hers were born. She didn't think of the future or the consequences, and that was something she always did.

Latte listened silently to his mother. What she said made sense, as he wouldn't have listened to her anyways if she had tried to stop him. Looking back up at Zinnia and Itomaru, he apologized, knowing what to do at last. "I'm sorry," he began, nearly squeaking. "I now realize that I was wrong in trying to escape with Yuri. I know I should've at least tried showing you that I am a good namir, but I was confused and scared." He stopped, hoping that they would forgive his impulsive actions.

Millennia nodded at Latte's words, and then turned to Zinnia and Itomaru also. 'I, also, have made a grave mistake that made this situation worse. I should have spent more energy on asking my mate to apologize than I have. I am regretting that, and I hope you will forgive me and my son for the bad decisions we have made."

Zinnia sighed, not sure what to think. She still was mad at him for attempting to running away with Yuri, yet she understood where he was coming from and he did apologize. She turned to him, saying, "Well...it will definitely take some time and effort to repair the trust you have broken...still, I could give you a chance to repair it." She looked at Millennia and said, "I forgive you for that. Everyone makes mistakes, and perhaps you felt it wouldn't have the effect it did?" She wondered too if she should have brought up the issue about the punishment then and there.

Itomaru looked at Latte and nodded. "It seems you've had your fair share of lecturing, I have nothing to add. Everything seems to add up, and everyone deserves the chance to be forgiven." He looked at the hole one more time and called at it. "Yuri, get out here. Now."

Yuri's ear twitched as she heard her father calling for her. She forced herself to get up and walk over to where the hole was, and climb out of it. She looked wide-eyed at everyone, and sat there silent.

Latte nodded gratefully at Itomaru. He looked over to Yuri but then looked down, ashamed that he had messed up so badly. "I'm sorry, Yuri. Can you forgive me too?"

Millennia gave a small smile at Zinnia and Itomaru, thanking them for not lecturing Latte any further.

Zinnia smiled at Yuri, feeling much calmer now that it seemed like the whole mess was over with. She wondered what would happen from here. Would things get back to the way they used to be, happy and not dramatic? She hoped so.

Shade climbed out of the hole, and perched upon Zinnia's head, his prefered place to be. He looked over Latte, studying him...and very intriguid by that tail of his. His fluffy, fluffy tail resembling a cloud...

Itomaru looked at Yuri with a kind, yet stern face. "You did hear that, right? What you guys did was wrong, but you were not wrong for doing it. I suppose I can lift the ban from seeing their family, but I will be watching you," he said before walking over to Zinnia and sitting down beside her.

Yuri looked at Latte and nodded. "O-only if Latte... forgives Y-yuri too..." She looked over and listened to her dad and wasn't sure if she was still happy or confused.
