"Dodge i--" Renekai began to say, but it was too late.
"Ghaaaass...." Dreydonna said as she was hit. She was getting tired now; the battle needed to end soon!
"Lick!" Renekai commanded.
Out came the tongue. Bell was flying so close that this would be no problem!

"Geh!" Bell dropped a few feet, shuddering at the touch of the ghost's tongue. That time it had really hurt; it was a critical hit.
From her dropped height, Bell shot another Aurora Beam. This battle really had better end soon!

"Shadow Ball!" Renekai called.
The ball, stonger this time, traveled through the colorful Aurora Beam. Hopefully it wouldn't lose too much speed and become avoidable this time! The beam that survived Dreydonna's counter attack hit its mark, though it was weakened enough to withstand.

The battle was almost over; Bell could feel it. Time to take the matter into her own claws! She had to freeze Dreydonna, and soon; that critical hit had taken a lot out of Bell.
She flew to a platform and quickly charged up an Ice Beam. Dreydonna was going down; literally! Bell fired her beam with the intent to kill freeze.

"Watch ou--" Renekai started to say, but too late. Dreydonna was frozen.
"Gha--" the Ghastly started to say before being frozen solid. She fell onto the same platform as Bell, and watched the Delibird suspiciously. As luck would have it, the Ice Beam wouldn't work for long, as the stadium was rather warm and Bell had shot the beam from so far away. Dreydonna felt the ice melting.

Now Dreydonna knew what it was like! Well, time to get her. Bell noted that the ice was quickly melting and shot another Ice Beam at the frozen Ghastly. Soon the battle would be over, and both pokemon would be able to rest. This had been a surprisingly long and hard battle!
Bell had to admit the Dreydonna made a fairly good battle partner. Just a little bit, though.

Dreydonna broke free of her ice casing, was grazed by the second Ice Beam, and flew to a safe distance.
"Shadow Ball!"
She shot a Shadow Ball at Bell, hoping that it would be one of her last attacks. Who knew that battles against trained pokemon were so difficult?

Bell was hit by the ball, too tired to dodge, when a thought clicked into her mind. Ghost was super effective against ghost; why hadn't she realized earlier?! Shadow Ball was a Ghost type attack! Now that it was almost too late, Bell realized what an idiot she had been for not realizing earlier. Still, there was hope!
Bell's eyes glowed momentarily as she used Mimic, a Shadow Ball flying from her beak and towards Dreydonna.

Dreydonna winced at the Shadow Ball. That hurt! But it was too late, Dreydonna was confident that she had as good as won now!
"Shadow Ball, one more time!" Renekai said loudly. Poor Dreydonna could barely stay in the air, she was so tired!
Exhausted but still with some spunk left, Dreydonna shot a sputtering and weak Shadow Ball down. It was strong enough to do the damage needed, but it was slow. The female Ghastly had to hope that Bell would be too tired to dodge; Dreydonna knew that she was too tired to move an inch.

Bell ducked clumsily. She was so tired, and... She had actually dodged it?! Yes! Now the end was hers. Bell shot an equally weak and slow Ice Beam at Dreydonna. That Ghastly was tough, but Bell saw the end of the battle clearly now. No need to worry; sleep was on its way... Yes, rest was a very welcome thing right now. And maybe Bell's victory would hurt Dreydonna's pride enough to stop her pranks for a few days...
Bell had to concentrate all her remaining power to keep the beam going long enough to reach that ever-so-high up Ghastly.

Renekai quietly returned the fainted Dreydonna. It had all been too much, and the Ice Beam had been more than enough to finish her, weak though it was.
"Good job, Bell," Renekai said to the exhausted Delibird. "That was a close one!" Renekai then returned Bell and left the stadium, very pleased at how both of her pokemon had faired. That had been a very close battle, and a good one.
