She giggled at him a little as she followed after. She stood where she was, and her ears twitched. Listening around them for the deer. But tere didn;t seem to be any right near them. She looked over to Jaden and nipped at his ear lightly, "Stay low... and keep quiet." She lowered her body some, listening around them.

"Alright," he said quietly, and doing as he was told. He crouched low to the ground and crawled silently around, using the trees and other large, inanimate objects for cover. He swiveled his ears, listening for noise that deer make and sniffed the ground curiously to see if any deer had been by recently. He hoped that if they did find the deer, there wouldn't been too many or they might cause a stampede.

Forte crouched over next to him and she murred lightly... It didn't seem like there were any dear in their direct area... They might have already spooked them. "We should try over on the other side of the clearing.."She said in a low voice. She pawed at the ground, before she moved off to slink quietly through the trees. She was getting much hungrier.

He nodded his agreement and stalked after her through the trees. When he neared the other side of the clearing, he smelled the deer. Excited by this, he ran faster and came to a full stop soon after. There weren't that many deer. The few that were there were scattered loosely around the field, grazing and looking about nervously. He looked to Forte and asked, "Which one would you like to go after?"

Forte blinked and she lowered her self back down. "Hm... We should go for the weakest looking one. Not the young though." Her ears laid back as she peer at them. "That one, there in the middle." She nodded, looking over at him. "I'm going to go over to the other side, the goal is to keep it into the clearing so we can use out speed."

His ears twitched as he listened to both Forte and the deer. He looked to the middle of the herd where she said the weakest one would be and nodded to her. "I'll try to keep it from escaping through this side." he told her, making calculations in his head to see what the best choice of action would be to let the other deer escape so that only the one would remain.

She nodded at him, as she slunk away some. "You need to make sure if doesn't go into the woods, and I'll drive it from the field toward you." She looked over at him making sure he understood, and she lurked her way around to the edge of the forest. Once Jaden was in position Forte round on the field, before running in toward the middle of the small group. She zoned out all the other deer, and ran straight for the one in the middle. The deer had obviously paniced and tried to run to the woods like the others.

"Right," he nodded, and watched as she slunk away. He turned his eyes to the deer once he saw her running towards them and saw the one they were after. Growling savagely, he ran towards them, driving them to the sides, but made sure that the old one was still stuck there. Once most of the deer had run off, he circled the one he was after, cutting off its escape and attacking it's haunches and leaping clear of its attacks. He continued doing this, waiting for Forte to arrive.

Forte had come charging up and she attacked the deer... With Jaden's help it feel easily, and with a quick and painless blow... It was something exhilarating in the hunting, but she didn't enjoy doing it all that much. She looked over at Jaden and smiled some. "You know that worked out a lot better then I had been thinking. You were awesome!"

"Thanks..." he mumbled and blushed. He didn't think he'd do well because he hadn't tried in a while. "Would you like the first bite?" he asked, cocking an ear to make sure no predators were there to steal the kill. He lowered his tail nervously, it looked like she was enjoying the hunt but now she seemed to regret it? He pawed at the ground, hoping he hadn't offended her in any way.

She looked over at him.. "No need to worry. I just feel bad about taking the lives of other animals, really." She smiled and stepped forward, taking the bite. She knew she had to hunt to survive, but it was the logic behind her hunting. She never killed the young, or a mother nursing. Usually always the older ones that have led good lives.

He tilted his head thoughtfully. He'd never met another wolf who'd felt bad about taking the lives of prey. She was more understanding than he'd thought and he looked at her with a new respect. After a while, he joined her and pretty soon most of the kill was gone and he felt full and satisfied. "Would you like to go anywhere else?" he asked her, yawning. The food made him tired but he felt awake enough to take another trip, if she wanted to go.

With a full belly, Forte felt better. Though still a bit guilty. She looked around some and then shrugged. "I'm up for something just not sure what..." She laughed a bit. "What about going to watch the sunset?" She smiled some.. "I haven' watched one in such a long time..."

"Alright," he said, perking up. "I haven't seen it in a while, too. It's so hard to tell when the trees are in the way." he laughed. He padded over to her and walked to a cliff near the borders. There was an ocean below and the sky was starting to turn a darker shade of pink. "It's always beautiful, no matter how many times I look at it." he said to her.

She sat neck to him on the cliff, and smiled. "You're right." She glanced at him and then looked out forward. She wished it was Thanatos sitting next to her, but he wouldn't be caught watching a sunset. She wondered sometimes, why him. But it always has been. Even if she had to make the sacrifices.
