It was a bit perplexing, the way he hurried himself out of the office, but regardless of his exit, Annabelle believed him to be a good student. Hopefully she would never have to punish him or anyone who came though her office. It was a terrible flaw for someone in administration, but Annabelle could never truly bring herself to punish a student unless they had done something so unjust that it called for no other course of action. Her mild behavior had earned her a reputation in the other realm as someone to go easy on people, and so her kindness was taken advantage of.
Anna, thinking of her slight headache and sudden fatigue, pondered her position at the Academy, the Headmaster, and students as she sat at her desk, awaiting another person to stop by or perhaps no one at all.
She preferred for there to be no one, in honesty.

Gavin walked silently down the hallway, in a gait that suggested it had been trained and bored into his brain. He walked straight and tall, resting a spear over his left shoulder. ' I probably shouldn't have brought this inside..' He smiled slightly as he reached the door of the principal teachers door. He rapped smartly on it with his knuckles and waited, quiet and staid.

Anna sighed very quietly. It had been such a busy day. Before rising gracefully from her chair, she made sure to have her cookie tin out as well as the box of tea. Regretfully, she had forgotten to offer the last student anything and was feeling the guilt. Once at the door, Anna felt determined to be welcoming despite that little fluke or the headache. "Hello, how may I--" Her eyes had met the spear as soon as the door had been pulled open. Instead of taking some kind of defensive action, she simply blinked at the tip resting on his shoulder. "Oh my."

Gavin smiled and set it against the wall outside of the office. He bowed smartly, taking her hand and kissing it in courtly fashion. He knew she was an elf simply by a glance, elves knew other elves, and so he knew she would understand if he spoke in their tounge. "Le aphadar aen, AnĂron i e broniatha." It is a pleasure to meet you, fair lady. He smiled at her, as a noble would.

Annabelle, being from what would have been considered a country upbringing, wasn't at all acquainted with his courtly customs. His words and actions brought an immediate blush to her cheeks as she welcomed him inside. "It is a pleasure to welcome you to Grove Academy..." she said, hoping that this young man understood that she was an administrator and his friendliness might be seen as a bit too close by others not from their realm. "Do come inside."

Gavin smiled, slipping back into English, or what the elves called Common. " Thank you." He waited until she sat herself before he did. His dark eyes took in all the books with a smile, before he fixed them back on her. " I'm Gavin Mormere." He said, pulling out his acceptance letter from his cloak and placing on the desk for her to verify.

"Ah, yes." She felt so comfortable with another Elf, one of her Kin, in the room. As her eyes scanned the letter, she barely knew what to say. All the others had been humans, but with a Keystone, she could be fairly open about anything. "Please, take a cookie. Or, if you'd like, I can prepare some tea for you," she said, gesturing to the tin and box on her desk with a warm smile.

Gavin smiled. " No thank you, madam. I am fine." He noticed how she squinted her eyes every moment or so. " If I may, madam, you must have a headache." He reached into his belt pouch, and layed a fresh green herb on her desk. " If you brew this into a tea, it will help rid you of your headache." He smiled and straightened in his chair. " Is there anything I need to know about the Academy."

"Oh, that is lovely. Thank you, Gavin." She immediately took to fetching herself a tea cup and preparing it for a tea. As she filled her cup from the dispenser, her eyes strayed back and forth to her filling cup and him. "It's a side effect of coming here, you know. You may experience headaches, nausea. If you do, don't hesitate to seek help. I myself am a healer..." Once she was set with her tea, she returned to her desk and sat down once again to welcome her new kin.

He watched her make her way around the books, and wondered how she did without knocking the books down. " I know a good bit of herbcraft, I should be able to take care of myself, but if it strays into the realm of magic, I will surely come to bid your aid." He watched her take her first sip. " I hope it helps. Back to business, though. I'd assume I can't say anything about the gate?"

"No, indeed you cannot." The effects of the brew were immediate. Anna was so thankful. " You may use the Gateway, of course, with the help of..." Briefly she reached down into a smaller drawer, pulling out a shining red badge. "This." "Though, please go no further than Atlanthum." Again, that warm smile filled her eyes as she handed it over to Gavin.

" Thank you, madam." He pinned it to his shirt with a smile. " I'm sure I'll enjoy it here...better than being paraded like a prize stallion.." He mumbled the last part to himself as he looked over her books with some interest. " Is there a room I am to be staying at?"

"That was to come next," she replied with a laugh playing in her voice. Again she reached into a drawer, this time pulling out a small packet containing his room key. "You will be staying in room 203 in the Keystone dorm. Please make yourself at home, but make sure not to make any... permanent changes to your room during your stay here." She had heard there was a fae staying just a floor above where he would be. While they were a sweet race, they did have a habit of being a bit extreme about things. Anna hoped Gavin wouldn't awake to a leak in his ceiling caused by a makeshift waterfall or experience some sort of bug infestation because of the fae's love of all things that lived. The thought made her smile to herself.

Gavin accepted the key with a grin. " Thank you very much." He stood. " Is that all I need to know for now, madam?" He asked, sticking the key in his pocket.

"Well, I'm sure it goes without saying that if you haven't been invited into another dorm, then it's rather rude to just go in... but, I won't trouble you any further." It was understood that as an elf, he should be able to grasp the basic rules at the get-go. "Do enjoy yourself. And stay out of trouble," she said, that time bursting into bright laughter. "I saw that spear."
