Toulouse burst out laughing, clutching his aching sides. “I see.” He managed between giggles. “The ole’ wed ‘em and bed ‘em routine am I right?” Toulouse chuckled. “Is there something you want to tell me Julien? Any girls in the closet that I should know about?”
After his smile had faded and Love had stopped crying, Toulouse added more seriously. “I don’t want to put hormones out of the picture, but dreams are not such things that they should be regarded lightly. Maybe it was a vision of things to come?” Toulouse winced at the very thought of Julien in a dark place without movement. He added, "Well, maybe not."

"No girls," Julien chuckled, shaking his head, then looked over at Toulouse with a grin. "No boys, either, for the record." Looking back at the books again, he reached up to a high shelf, tugging out a book whose title was simply "On Cats", and sank down to sit on the floor, starting to page through it.
"Do premonition dreams really happen? The humans mock them so much, I just assumed they must be jokes."

“I would never dream as to presume as much.” Toulouse chuckled at Julien’s boy comment. He ran his hand through his hair, setting the squirming Love on the floor so she could creep about.
“I’ve met precious few humans who were true clairvoyants, but no, it’s not a joke. To the Fey, it is a very serious matter to be able to claim to know the future. My youngest sister was a soothsayer actually, and a very good one at that. However, any Fey can truly dream and see the future. We are the creatures of elements and are bound to nature intimately.”

Julien paused, looking up at Toulouse with a frown as he considered the words. "...I don't want it to be the future," he admitted quietly. "I don't remember it, but... I know it scared me, and there was nothing I could do about it." Lifting a hand to his face, he rubbed hard for a moment, then sighed, turning back to the book. "Makes me wish it had been about a boy," he admitted. "At least then, I'd understand why I was scared."

“Very true.” Toulouse hopped of the chair and sat down next to Julien, settling himself against the teen’s side from shoulder to hip. He wasn’t good with hugs and this was the best that he could do. Toulouse didn’t want Julien to be worried or afraid. He tried to think of something helpful to say, but came up with nothing.
“Well…the best thing you can do is wait to find out. I don’t want to say for sure, but it doesn’t sound like a premonition, only because of the lack of clarity to it. Maybe you magic is bringing up a long ago memory.” Toulouse replied going back to what Julien had first said.

Julien smiled wryly at Toulouse, leaning against the boy just a little before going back to the book. "We've gotta find out about cat tails so that I can fix her poor tail before lunch," he said firmly, not wanting to think about it anymore. He didn't like being scared of shadows in the darkness.
"Any ideas on other places to look?"

“Is there nothing in this book?” Toulouse asked pointing to the book in Julien’s hands. “Would you just need a picture of a tailbone and muscle or a description too.” Toulouse craned his head up to look at the section that Jules hade gotten the book from. Was there anything else?
Toulouse stood and walked over to the bookcase for a better inspection. He spotted a book that looked promising near the top. Making sure that Julien was looking at his own book, Toulouse exerted a little pressure and willed the book with a green spine off the topmost shelf. The book eased itself from between its brothers and floated lazily down to Toulouse waiting hand, as if it weighed only as much as a leaf. It was titled Felis domesticus : Life of. It was a little old but looked interesting.
“Here, try this.” Toulouse said handing the large leather bound book to Julien.

Julien looked up, smiling in gratitude at Toulouse as he reached for the book and started paging through it. "This looks promising," he decided, waving Toulouse to his side again. "Good job. Look, here's a layout of the internal organs... and the ribs... and the spine itself," Julien said, flipping the pages a little quicker as he identified each of the sections. "Now all we need is... bingo," he said, pausing on a page that showed the skeleton of the hind legs and tail. "Get Love?"

Toulouse smiled, glad that the book had what Julien wanted in it. He looked for Love and saw that the white ball of fluff was romping around playing with the tassels on the rug. “C’mere Love.” Toulouse snatched at the kitten who swatted playing at him. Laughing, he grabbed Love gently by the scruff of her neck and handed her to Julien.
Toulouse settled again by Julien’s side, waiting to see what he would do. The healers ability always intrigued him as he had never been able to do it himself.

"You should smile more," Julien noted absently as he looked down at the cat, setting the book aside and using the other to keep the pages down so that they didn't flip. "All right, beautiful," he said to Love, stroking her fur again. "I'm going to try to fix your tail properly this time, okay? Just relax for me...," he murmured, letting the words trail off but making soothing noises repeatedly to help keep her calm as he worked, feeling down the tail with gentle fingers as he searched out each ridge of bone. It wasn't easy at all, and he suspected the only reason he could determine anything was his healing.

“Hum.” Was all Toulouse said rolling onto his stomach and propping his chin on his hands. He watched intently as Julien roved his hands over the poor puss’ tail. Toulouse wanted to reach out and pet Love but didn’t want to interfere with Jules’ ability to heal. So, he just watched. “You can do it Julien. Nice and slow.” Toulouse encouraged quietly.

Julien nodded absently, jerking a bit when the poor kitten yowled as he touched the tail right near the break. "...Well, we've found it," he muttered wryly. "Pet her, okay? Reassure her you're right here and that she won't be hurt. She knows you." The directions were distant ones, Julien's attention mostly focused on the tail and the harm there was to it. He couldn't specifically see what was wrong, so he simply closed his eyes, feeling out what he could and letting instinct take over.

“I’m not touching you or the cat.” Toulouse said, not moving. “First rule of magic: never ever touch someone about to or in the act of performing magic. Bad things can happen. I’ll just watch thanks. Love is fine. Look, she’s purring a bit now.” Toulouse knew he made the right decision in not touching the cat. He felt Julien’s magic flare up and it was uncomfortable even sitting so close. It was soft though, not at all like some.

"Mm," Julien muttered, clearly not really listening to the rules as he felt his magic begin to work. Falling quiet, he focused hard, feeling the tiny crack in the bones. It felt wrong, out of place and uncomfortable, and Julien wanted to pull away from it, and not feel that wrongness anymore. But instead, he held onto the foreign feel, eyes blinking open to stare at the book carefully. To make things right, he had to shift the tail just a bit, close the bone and knit it back together... but oh how it resisted his work, ignoring the directions he was trying to give.
His jaw set, and he felt his magic flare brighter as he tried to force the bone to work with him instead of ignoring him.

Toulouse nearly choked on all the magical force that Julien was exerting to fix Love’s tail. “Woah!” He exclaimed when the magic hit him full in the face. It was startling and it stole his breath in a whoosh. It sat on the air like some heavy weight. “Pull it in Jules. Focus more but don’t use more magic and less focus.” Toulouse all but shouted feeling the air suck up his words like thick honey.
