"Ah. I wish I could meet her. Where is she? and what about the rest of your family?" Maryl looked back a bit feeling bad. She didn't mean to pry. This man was nice enough to take her in to his home and even feed her. She didn't want to become imposing in any way but sat there silently hoping her question would be retracted in quiet.

Kel returned from the kitchen, once again going back to his chair. He gestured to the couch on the other side of the coffee table. "You don't have to sit on the floor. Be my guest." He sat back in his chair and cracked his neck. "She went on a manhunt this morning. She'll probably be back in a few days." He looked up at a picture above the mantle before continuing. "My mother and aunt were taken by the elements. My girlfriend and little brother are both gone. If this world has been good at anything, it's taking important things away from me." He chuckled a bit under his breath. That name for my shop is really quite ironic.

Maryl quietly walked around the table, taking off her shoes and curling up on the couch. "A manhunt? ...but if she is about my age, isn't that a little dangerous?" She felt a little flustered at Kel's answer about his family. She hadn't known any of her's but could imagine the sting of loss of those around you who are close and dear. "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to pry."

"Not at all. I don't mind. We don't get company all that often, and I don't usually talk much. I trust my daughter though. She's very capable, besides the things that took my brother were much tougher and more dangerous than this guy." I wonder if it really will prevent the war? I mean even if he is caught, there's probably been enough events set in motion to set the downward spiral. One caught conspirator isn't going to completely undo the past. Things weren't peaceful for that long at all. ...Well, if you could call that peace. Kel's eyes returned to his little guest, realizing he got carried away in thought again. He stood up and put his hands together.
"Well would you like a place to rest? There's a guest room upstairs in the back. I have a few more things to do around the foundry."

Maryl stood up from her place on the couch. "Oh, thank you so much." She bowed graciously to Kel and picked up her bag before heading upstairs.

Kel nodded to Maryl before heading to the foundry door. He stopped and thought to himself as he pushed the door open. I wonder how Seth is doing? He took his mask from the hook on the wall and entered the foundry.

((Ok))
Maryl woke up strangely refreshed. She yawned, rubbing her eyes and stretching to clear the sleep. She climbed out of bed and approached the window, opening the drapes first to let more light in, then opening the window. A small raven fluttered in landing on the window sill. "Pi, where were you?" She picked up the bird and caressed it, smoothing it's feathers down. After setting the bird back on the window sill, Maryl quickly got dressed and exited the guest room. She looked around the hall as she approached the stairs. "I wonder if he woke up yet?"

Kel stood at his anvil hammering away at a freshly smelted slab of metal. He was making a shield, a large thick tower shield with the design of a wing outlining the top of the shield. The clank of hammer and metal was fairly loud.

At the base of the stairs, Maryl could hear the loud clank of the hammer and metal. She approached the door to the foundry and sat down next to it, waiting patiently. At this point she could feel the impact of the hammer through the floor and wall. "I wonder what he's working on in there?"

Kel emerged from the foundry, heading toward the kitchen with a whistle and a spring in his step. He paused noticing that girl from yesterday sitting on his floor. He scratched his head and shrugged. "If you're hungry there's plenty in the kitchen at the moment. Come on." He left her with a beckoning wave as he turned and entered his kitchen.

Maryl followed quietly to the kitchen. She was fairly surprised that she hadn't been kicked out by now. Inns usually don't prefer stragglers, and deep down she didn't want to impose, but She also had nowhere in particular to be at the moment. She tugged at Kel's sleeve and spoke up. "I'm not imposing too much am I?"

Kel walked up to the tall pot on the stove and filled two bowls with some oatmeal. He handed one bowl to Maryl and paused as he heard her question. He took a deep breath and thought for a moment scratching his chin. "Usually it only seems that way when you keep asking that. Seriously though, I'm not going to show you the door, till you're good and ready to go unless you break something." He set his bowl down on the counter top. "I mean I figure you have things to do anyway. You work too after all, right?"
He picked up his bowl and started eating.

"Well yeah I guess..." She started eating for a moment thinking to herself. "Well business is slow... and... It's... It's just..." She couldn't quite get to her point, she felt rather embarassed almost afraid of the answer she would recieve. Her eyes didn't leave her bowl, but she became a bit shaky from her nervousness.
