Small rows of what resembled nails and teeth crisscrossed along her lower bicep and arm. They were faint, just ridges along her pale skin with the occasional pink spot or jagged edge, mostly from their age. Still, the sheer amount of them would have made anyone stop and stare.
Krisha snatched back her hand from his loosened grip and yanked the glove back up. One the perfect black slip was back in place, it was almost as if nothing had happened, both then and in the past.
"I told you. My Brother didn't mean it either." It was short, almost curt, but in her mind it explained more than enough. She wasn't going to give an answer to his remark about apologizing either, though it would be almost funny to her if he decided to apologize now.
The scars only itched when she remembered, and she had almost gotten to where she didn't have to remember anymore. It was always there though. Both Serre and she would remember what they had drove him to, and what they did afterward. She would never, no matter how much she wanted to, forget his face when they threw her into that room, or after it, when he broke.
Don't touch me!
"How does one keep from remembering, when their greatest fear is to forget?" She asked in an almost inaudible whisper, just as she had before when the night had hit it's peak.
She wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't hear it, as she didn't expect an answer. That was something she'd have to find herself.

Shah remembered something about her brother, something from the night before. She had said the same thing. But the way she said it now...
Maybe he could relate to her brother and her. Maybe they could understand.
Yeah right.
He heard her question but he wouldn't answer. He himself didn't have an answer to it. Instead he grinned at her, a wide toothy grin that would have looked goofy and innocent if his fangs hadn't given it a mischievous edge. "Okay, how about we go get something to eat? It's early, we're alone, together." he said the last part in that tone of voice. "It could be fun." And then the smirk.

Krisha let out a sarcastic 'Hmmph' sound at what he said. It was admirable that he was going to pretend nothing had happened, almost sweet in a way. Knowing what she did though, she assumed he most likely had other motives for the change of subject.
"As I recall, we already tried that. If you really want to though, we still have some pizza left." Maybe he wouldn't remember what had happened to the pizza he had ate during their meal last night... Still, that could be why he was hungry now.
"I'm actually not that hungry. Help yourself if you want though." She had a bit of a birds appetite. One big meal and a few snacks, but not really anything else. She wasn't going to give him an opening yet, which was why she had pointedly ignored the tone of voice he'd used.

Shah gave a brief frown at Krisha's decline. She was no fun! "Who says we can't try again?" He asked with that same smirk. "I swear I won't do anything feral or out of the ordinary." Shah said, nodding as he placed a hand over his heart and his other held up in honor to that swear.
Shah wasn't in the mood for pizza again. He remembered eating it last night but he also remembered it tasting gross during his third slice. It was hazy after that and the mere thought of being unable to remember concerned Shah. What exactly had happened last night? There was no way he cried....right? No, Shah didn't cry. Krisha was just pulling his leg, nothing more.
"My ordinary." Shah added at the end, leaning in closer to Krisha, their faces a little too close for comfort. That grin came up again but this time it was smug. "What'ya say?"

She almost chuckled as he did the boy-scout promise. She highly doubted he was ever in it, and even if he had been, hadn't gotten kicked out. Knowing that, she wasn't inclined to take him at his word. "It's your ordinary that worries me." She said, slightly amused.
Still, what was she suppose to say? If he was hungry he should eat, and she didn't fancy letting him out of her site just yet.
"I suppose I'll come along though, for companies sake." Krisha shrugged at this. Already she was standing and stretching slightly. Her clothes were so wrinkled... And the dirt everywhere... God she hoped he didn't pick somewhere in town.
Just in case though, she'd probably spend the trip picking the twigs out her hair.

The way she said that, her amused tone within those words, it made Shah grin even wider. Shah liked her, he liked her a lot. She always had something to say and she never sugar coated her words. She had guts, she was brave, she had a pretty face and a nice body. Who could ask for more? Sure her brains would be a problem in the future but Shah was ready to deal with it. As for the crying joke, he didn't believe it. She had a nasty sense of humor but Shah could let that joke slide. Too bad it wasn't a joke.
Shah slipped up to his feet as Krisha did the same. "Companies sake it is!" Shah said, glad to see that she was agreeing to come along. He wondered how those two little midgets, uh, kids were doing. Had the little vampire taken a sip from Kira? Maybe, maybe. He wondered what Krisha's reaction would be to that. He doubted that it would be anything too severe. Still, that little vampire...Shah still wanted a one on one talk with him. He'd see just how tough he was.
Shah glanced around for a minute, his tail wagging at an even rate behind him as he thought over what his appetite desired. He had only been here for a day, he had no idea what they sold and where they sold it. They could go back into town for something...but Shah had no money. Ouch. That's a low blow, he continued to think. Glancing back over to Krisha he paused.
Her cloth were wrinkled, there was a smudge of dirt on her cheek and a couple leaves in her hair. He took a step closer and lifted his hand, gently rubbing the dirt away and plucking a few leaves out of her hair. "You're beautiful." He said to her.
So casual, so sincere. He probably said it a million times before.

"Feh. I bet you say that every female that strikes your fancy." Krisha answered bravely, not quite meeting his eyes. Despite her brave words, her fair skin blushed slightly, betraying her in the process. Even with the heightened coloring in her cheeks, or maybe because of it, she looked almost... remorseful?
She was most likely right, so why was she allowing herself to be fooled? He himself had said he would leave when he got bored. And she knew she would, inevitably bore him, that is. She didn't change much, she never had.
So... Why was a part of her hoping? That word was unlucky for her. Why was she even thinking it? And why, of all things, did she keep remembering how his lips felt on hers? She shouldn't like him like that, all he wanted was something she wouldn't give out of lust. She wouldn't, couldn't, allow herself to think about the other side that had shown through last night.

Shah noticed her blush, he noticed how she didn't look him in the eye as he spoke and it made him smile. She was right though, he had said it to numerous girls in the past and he would still say it to numerous girls in the future. But still, he meant it with every girl. Shah wasn't one to go for just anyone (unless he was more desperate then he already is). Each girl is beautiful in their own way, for whatever reason it may be. The girls Shah moved after were always beautiful in his eyes. Always.
But Krisha was different. There was something about her that struck Shah with a jolt of awe. He couldn't put his finger on it but it was there. Something. He didn't know it yet but he would, he was determined to find out what made her different then all those other girls. Obviously she wasn't as foolish as the others but there was something more....something more...
"True." Shah said, agreeing to what Krisha had said. He wouldn't lie, it'd be stupid to lie about something so obvious. His fingers trailed down from her hair, gracing the skin on her shoulder before they reached her wings. His fingers slide across the soft edges of their feathers. "But you're an angel." He said calmly. "And angels have beauty that runs deeper than skin."
Was that it? Was Krisha beautiful inside and out? The words had come so easily, he didn't even have to think them over. Shah smiled at Krisha. "You're blushing."

"You forget. Demons were born from angels. Ugliness's can hide within the purest form." She said, trying to distract from the fact that she was blushing. Why was he so good at making her flustered?
Her wings shivered slightly as he touched them. Oh, that's right. Because he'd probably done the same to someone else before. Still, had every other woman had this reaction? Every place he touched felt like there were small fires burning, just under the skin, long after his fingers had moved on. They couldn't have. She knew for a fact that each sensation was unique to each different person. Then why was she the one who had to get this one? And why from him?
"Besides, I'm not an angel. Just a bird who got out of it's cage." She was hybrid like the rest of her family. Nothing holy or innocent about them, not at all.

She was trying to distract him, trying to draw his attention away from her. Shah found this cute. What was she trying to hide? Her blush? So beautiful she was, Shah knew that there was nothing beneath the skin that he couldn't handle. He had seen real demons, women with looks that could melt stone but personalities that could freeze fire. He had seen them, heard them, felt them and they were nothing like Krisha. He had only known her for a day and he knew. Why was that? How was that possible? Did it have to do with the events last night?
Shah couldn't fall. He wouldn't allow himself to fall. He was here for one thing and once he had that he was out. Even if Krisha was different there would always be something to ruin it. Nothing was perfect, nothing lasted forever. Shah knew this, he knew it the day he was born. He knew it the day he heard the procedure. He knew it the day they took him away. He knew it the day he failed. He had learned at a young age and he was reminded of that lesson throughout his life.
Nothing last forever. So just screw it over before it screws you.
That's Shah's motto and he intends to live by it until he dies.
Shah was no longer smiling, lost in his thought his expression had changed to that of painful remembrance. It was subtle, very subtle. But by the way his brow furrowed and that familiar shimmer in his eye shined one could tell if they payed attention.
It didn't last long, Shah returned to the reality before him with that grin. That grin. "That just makes you all the more beautiful." He said. There was nothing there. No meaning. Only lust.
She was a bird who got out of her cage. He was a beast who had broken his leash. Are the two that different?

She hadn't been looking at him, choosing instead to stare off while he looked at her. She hadn't noticed his expression, simply because she'd been looking else where. Had she, she wouldn't have read so much into the way his voice sounded. Had she, she would have seen it for just as much of a cover up as her changing of the subject was. Had she....But she hadn't though, had she? Instead, her head snapped back to where she was looking at him again. It wasn't because of what he said, though that was a compliment, but more so how. Nothing but lust, no meaning, no sincerity.
The blush must have died from her cheeks, for she suddenly felt very cold. Whatever heat his fingers had brought froze upon her skin, for surely no warmth could survive on or within her at this moment.
"And I say again. You've probably said that to every female who stroked your fancy. It's strange that even though you thought them beautiful, you didn't seem to care about staying with them. Then again, you did say you leave when things start to bore you. They must have been one of those 'things'." As I would eventually. She thought, almost immediately after finishing. It was a small thought, quiet like the voice that came out of her mouth. It's wasn't accusing, nor was it harsh. It simply spoke in a meter-of-factly tone, waiting to see if he'd dispute it.

How quick she came to stare at him. So sudden, she took his words in character. No more blush, no longer shy. She stared him in the face with that look she had given him when he had first opened his mouth. But unlike then, now he knew that she had a little interest. Maybe not a lot but still, there was something there. He wondered if she thought the same for him.
He doubted it.
He didn't take her words personally. Why should he? He knew they were true. He did say it to many women, he did leave them afterward even though they were beautiful, he did grow bored with them despite it all. Did this make Krisha like the rest? Base his next actions on his previous ones? Judge what is seen and look no further? Shah wouldn't answer those questions. He was trying to convince himself, trying to convince himself that he couldn't fall because everything was a lie. And yet, he couldn't bring himself to answer his own questions. Why couldn't he? He had done it so many times before, so many. He had done it moments earlier! Why did he refuse to answer those simple questions with a lie?
Was it hope? No, it couldn't be. There was no hope. Hope was another lie. Hope was one of the lies he had used to convince himself many years ago. Many years. It was garbage, trash. It was a dirty fantasy, a thread of string that slipped away just as someone closed their fist upon it. He couldn't fall back into hope. Not like before.
Not that deep at least.
Shah's grin was wide and smug, he leaned over to her, his lips besides Krisha's ear. "Don't be like them."
He whispered those words. So soft, so gentle and yet his grin was still there when he pulled back and turned around. "Do you know any easy place for shop lifting? I'm not in the mood to pay." He called back as he headed in a rather aimless direction. He had no idea where he was going.

Don't be like them. Well, that was cryptic. How was she suppose to know how they acted, what they looked like, anything about them? And in any case, why should she change for someone who might still leave?
Still, she had to give herself some credit. She hadn't allowed herself any reaction to the words spoken beside her ear. Absolutely none at all. Atleast she was smart enough for that.
"As far as I know, not many." The store owners were extremely protective of their wares, an the few that weren't.... Well, she just didn't feel like telling him that. Why show him the ones that weren't able to protect their livelihood? Where was the honor in that? No, if he wanted to do that, he'd have to find out which ones were which on his own.

He continued to walk, that grin still on his face as he shrugged. "Guess we'll just have to put a little more effort into it then." Shah said as he paused momentarily. He had no idea where he was going and from the looks of it he seemed to be walking deeper and deeper away from civilization. His tail swayed gently behind him as he stood there thinking. Well, not exactly thinking.
He knew Krisha was giving him the cold shoulder, it didn't take a genius to know when a woman was pissed. And something about that bothered him. He was never one to be ignored, he made sure it was nearly impossible. And yet here Krisha was, not flustered a bit by what he had said. She was putting up a fight, showing that she wouldn't be swayed any more. Shah breathed in through his nostrils, taking in the scent of the green grass, trees, morning breeze and, most importantly, Krisha. He could sense her anger, she was ready to lash out at him if he said something smug or insulting.
Shah inhaled again, he could smell the small shops lining the outside of the forest and dotting around within. He could follow his nose easily, like a dog.
Shah twisted around fast, facing Krisha too quickly. He bent down gently so he was eye level, his face now inches from hers. He stared at her with a frown upon his brow. He didn't say anything for a few seconds, he simply stared at her with a determined look in his eye. He searched her face, looked for something that wasn't there.
He didn't say anything.

Krisha had followed him as he walked. She'd given her word to go with him, and that was one thing she didn't break. Besides, it wasn't like she had to talk to him, or rise to his baits, while they were there. She was, though she made sure not to show it, slightly bemused by his sniffing. She knew the wolf in him was probably the reason, but her brothers had that too, and they didn't sniff around. Well, that wasn't exactly true. Jin always said everything in the Manor stank of a cooper scent. If he was out here... Maybe he would do it too once he was here. She'd have to ask.
Krisha was almost about to ask him what he was doing, or looking for, when he stopped. She almost walked right into the back of him, lost in her own thoughts, before stopping on her heels. On instinct, she pulled back slightly when he turned suddenly, wary of being knocked over. After all, the memories of last night were still fresh.
