Well.....that was one way to block. Stopping his punch just before it came in contact with the boy's arm he spoke.
"Now...though you are doing well by protecting your chest and neck..it would be best if you tried to deflect the attack. Use a hand to push my fist away and out to the side." He explained trying to help the poor skunk out.

"Oh - okay." Fleur nodded his understanding and waited for the chance to try again, feeling a little silly for making so many mistakes, but he was very thankful this instructor was being patient with him. His last melee instructor probably would not have been.

Nodding his head the man went about repeating the same step he did before. A very slow but deliberate punch in the direction of Fleurs chest. He hoped that the skunk wouldn't be so timid to just try and duck.
But this was a learning experience...and they would do this over and over until Fleur got comfertable with it.

Hoping he was starting to get this right, Fleur next tried to follow his instructor's advice, moving one arm up to protect his chest at the same time he used his other arm to attempt deflecting Kuyoja's fist. Once the maneuver was completed, the skunk looked to Kuyoja for approval or correction.

Kuyoja nodded his head...approvingly? "That is much better, it will become natural to you eventually." He encouraged in his own monotonous sort of way.
He then went to stand up feeling that perhaps it was best not to overwhelm the child. "I want you to try practicing that move at least for ten minutes a day. As well pick up those items I mentioned so that you can be better prepared." He continued as he moved to pick up his clip board and joted a few notes down.
"any questions?"

Fleur's tail twitched and finally lifted somewhat from the floor, pleased he was starting to get it. He nodded as he was instructed on what to do later, making a mental list of the things he was told to buy. He was sure Argent could help him with the blocking practice - if not her, then Chrysler could. "No, I don't," the skunk answered, feeling much better than he had when he first arrived.

Kuyoja nodded his head and actually offered the skunk boy a small smile.
"Good. Fighting shouldn't be something you live up to, but its good that you learn how to protect yourself." He continued as he then gave a wave of his hand dimissing the child.
"I hope to see you in a future class."
