"I will." Celes smiled in the deal, finding it a challenge that she'd wish to accomplish eventually. But for now, air! The kitsu inhaled deeply and gratefully as Zazel got off and stepped away. "Thank you." Ugh, now to dust herself off too after that scuffling roll. She sat up and brushed off her forepaws, ruff, and tummy. Not too much to worry over. And what about Zazel?
"Eh? Where are you going?" Curious as to how and why she moved so far, Celes trotted over to the blonde. As a last second idea, she smirked while grabbing a light hold on her ear with her teeth. Then tugging. But it was no fun if the other had given up, so to say. Removing her mouth from the soft ear, Celes turned quiet eyes to the other. "What's wrong? Are you hungry? Is that why we stopped?" She hadn't even thought of that before.

"O'er here. Mrph!" One eyes closed as the other tugged on her ear and pulled back, flicking it with a look of irritation. "Why'd you do that?" Arching one brow Zazel laid her ears back in the hopes of keeping them out of Celes' mouth.
"Hrm? Nothing's wrong. No, I'm not hungry. Stopped? I won." Blinking, Zazel peered at her smaller friend, trying to figure out what she meant, "Why....?"

Eyes rolled to the question, and Celes laughed lightly. "Silly Zazel, why else would I do that?" It crossed her mind that the other kitsu may have beening thinking of leaving, so she stopped her. A light breeze stirred her messy hair as she sat listening to the blonde. So nothing was wrong, and she wasn't hungry. And she had won..
"Well of course you won, tackling me twice over now." Celes grinned pleasantly, considering their games to be fun even so. "Though, I guess my energy wasn't up for competition so suddenly. Sorry if it was boring for you." Stretching stiffly from toe to tails, she sighed before deciding to flop onto her side in the grass. The sun was warm and the creek, though farther away, was still heard. Again, the meadow became as calm as it was moments before.

"Boring? Not really," Zazel scoffed, "You just can't beat me. I'll always win. You're welcome to prove me wrong anytime, though." Smirking, she circled the other a few times before settling down beside Celes with a quiet sigh.
"Did... you really not want me to leave?" Zazel was beginning to understand that Celes might actually want her around but at the same time, the insecure demon wanted to hear it out loud. "You... could have hugged me instead of chewing on my ear, y'know. Now it's all wet."

Puh, keep telling yourself that. Celes wasn't a sore loser by anymeans. She just didn't believe in definite outcomes as a lasting thing. "I'll keep that in mind then." Celes kept relaxed as Zazel prowled about, her own tail ends curling like a calm feline. A shuffling weight landed next to her, and she smiled to the foreign warm and scent of nonfamily. It was rare.
"What reason would I have to lie? Besides, if you wanted to leave, you easily could have." Confusion scratched her thoughts as Zazel continued speaking. "Yeah, you just seem...not familiar with that action. So I don't want to overdo it, yes?" It was easy enough to do with family, simply because she knew their limits. Zazel was another case. "Just like you could have easily hugged me instead of chasing me." 8C

"Wise choice. You're a curious kitsu, but I wouldn't recommend stepping into the realm of annoying. Annoying people bother me and are a waste of time." Bold talk for one so lacking in friends.
"Pfffft. I only chased you because you ran away - I cannot hug, or greet for that matter if you turn tail and dash off at the slightest hint of danger now, can I?" Arching a brow, she grinned as her tails flicked in amusement, "And what if I'd just suddenly hugged you? You'd have just stood there?"

"Heey." Celes flopped her ears while craning her neck to attempt glaring at the other. Was she insulting her then, or she just considered this playful banter? "So do you think you're better than others? I can easily be annoying too." She folded front paws stubbornly and tucked her chin back to her ruff. A waste of time, how could anyone be thought of as such a thing?..
"If you had suddenly hugged me? I would have had a heartattack, maybe. But I nearly did anyway with your shaking leaves intro. At least it's kinder, ne?"

"Better'n others?" Zazel blinked, honestly very confused by the question, "No... but they sure as hell think they're better then me. If they're annoying why waste my time and endure their company? You wouldn't want to be around someone if you had to bite your tongue when dealing with them would you?"
A rich, genuine laugh escaped Zazel then as she rolled onto her side and pushed at Celes playfully, "I'll keep that in mind - heart attack versus a chase. Interesting choice. Kinder...? Well, that's up for interpretation I suppose."

This left Celes stranded in thoughts. What did Zazel mean by biting their tongue around others? The smaller kitsu rolled over so she was now facing her moody friend. "Who thinks they're better than you?" She was curious, but knew to be careful asking such things. The corner of her lip lifted, trying to show some support for the other without seeming to give pity. "Besides, you've always got your family, right?"
"Eep~" Going with the momentum of the push, Celes rolled until she was on her tummy fully. "Yeah? I'm horrible at making sense sometimes. But in the end I find it kinder. Just like you did with the ear biting. Right?"

"Everyone but you, it seems." Zazel's mood dropped as soon as Celes mentioned family and scoffed sourly, "Family? I grew up separate from them... my own fathers didn't even talk to me - too wrapped up in themselves or my siblings. Six children and I was the odd one out." Grumbling, her tails twitched like and angry cat's. "So no. I don't always have my family."
Setting her chin down on her paws, the demon glared out over the grass and didn't even bother to respond to Celes' last statement. Stupid family.

She looked to her paws shyly but gladly. At least she was some presence of consideration. But a noise hit her ears that sounded very similiar to her. A scoff. Something her ninja father did quite often when avoiding something of bother. Celes' brows drooped as Zazel spoke wit scorn in her voice...she might as well have been green.
"They...they don't? They don't." How could they? That was just so odd...so cruel. She could never imagine her own family unit acting like that. Fidgeting, Celes stood up with a cower to her form. "Zazel?..." The silence was static; foreign. Carefully and slowly, she edged toward the other; ready to pounce away if need be. Once near enough, she genlty rested her neck across Zazel's back with one slim paw. "But you have a friend..."

She rolled her shoulders and shook her head, a low growl escaping her, "They do." Without lifting her head, she turned to regard Celes with a piercing green gaze when her name was called. What could the other want? That was the truth of the matter and some of the reason for her prickly nature. She'd raised herself... learned to fight and survive on her own because her 'family' ignored her.
She tensed, growling lowly as Celes laid her neck and paw across her back, even moving to shuffle away. Zazel didn't want touch, didn't need it - or so she kept telling herself. "Celes, get of-" She cut herself off as the other spoke and paused in her movement as the word soaked in, sifting down through the layers of resentment and anger to settle gently within her.
Friend...? But she had a friend...?
It seemed foreign, at first, but it resonated with the unruly spirit and she settled back down. Sheer will power kept the small, happy smile from breaking onto her face, "Yes... I suppose I do."

Her chin and paw fell to the floor at Zazel's movement; no need for her words to be said. And the plit second feel of hackles lifting on Zazel's back gave more motivation for Celes to back skip. That reaction was familiar between her siblings, and was often followed by biting. "I'm off, I'm off..."
Tails twitched nervously now, and the vamp twin paced and paused slowly before the other kitsu. Even with Zazel's delayed confirmation, Celes held back this time. She made a wrong move. Not a bad one, just a wrong one...and she didn't want to repeat such a thing.

Zazel watched the other paced for several moments before rising with a shake of her head. Celes was so timid... It was strangely endearing. Slinging her own paw over the other's shoulders, the demon grinned at the other, "Sorry... I won't hurt you. You always surprise me." Gnawing playfully on an ear, she backed off and peered at the vampire, "Don't be so figdety, okay?" A cheerful smile, an alien expression for Zazel, lit up her features as she tilted her head - one ear cocked to the side while the other stood forward.

"Ooph." Celes nearly fell forward to Zazel's flopped paw on her slim shoulders. It may as well have been a bear hug for the slight and hesitant girl. A sweatdrop formed as she stumbled a small laugh at the other. "Yeah? Promise?" Her tails wagged as she peeked up at her friend, guessing that being a surprise was a good thing. It wasn't boring, and a waste of time, at least.
The nomming reacted a shiver and squee from the girl, and she pawed at the blonde to escape. "That tickles!" Once freed she was quick to rub at her ear, soothing out the tingling nerves while casting brows in a lift. "Fidgety...I'm fidgety?" She wasn't even aware of it, she just reacted and that was the first way it came to her to behave. "So what should I be, like you?" A paw reached out and bobbed the slanted ear as she smiled back.
