I'm seeing it today.

I don't know it might be better than Spider-Man 2.
Spider-man 2 is nothing compared to this movie.

I saw Dark Knight twice in it's first 24 hours. The movie is bar-none the best thing in years.

I'm taking your word for it because I love Spider-Man and the second because it reminded of the old Animated Series when Peter was struggling to marry Marry Jane because if they knew who she was then might of killed her.

Of course that happened and he struggled with it ever since until she came back as a clone when facing Hydro Man again.

Believe I'm a huge Batman fan too.

I hated Batman and Robin and Batman Forever. Ugh worse movie I'v seen until Star Wars Episode 2: Attack of the Clones.

This was the ONLY Batman movie I have ever liked. And for the record, Marvel is awesome & DC sucks monkey a**. Batman is the ONLY comic DC ever managed to do right.

Second, Spiderman 1 & 2 were good, 3...I'll forget existed Venom deserved more screentime dangit. But Batman was a better movie overall I think. But hey, DC needs a win once a century right?

I highly agree with your sentiment about DC. But when you think about Batman... is he a "superhero?" He doesn't have super powers. His super power is he's freaking awesome. And his villains (the best ones anyways, as far as I know)... they don't have superpowers either. In fact, they just have problems. And they let their problems turn them into villains. This is why Batman vs. Joker is so epic in the film. Neither have powers, they're just really REALLY motivated. And the Joker... I've never once seen a villain that is such a perfect counterpart to the hero in ANY MOVIE. The Joker matches him in sheer mysteriousness, counters his nobility with lunacy, and negates his strength by just plain fighting dirty. The Joker's mere existence almost debases Batman's, causing Bruce Wayne rethink everything he stands for (an implication explored flawlessly in the movie). This is just not something you could ever get from a character like Superman or whoever.

When you wear the spandex (titanium armor inside or not) as your "costume" and fight crime. You are a super hearo automatically.

Course I'd rather think of him as a supreme badass. BUt it's a DC comic so...he can't fully be a supreme badass. He is knocked down to badass superhero.

And I agree. Complete yin and yang. And what is truely awesome about Joker is thaqt he is evil, because he is bored. Essentially that's what it boils down to. He's a terrorist who is a terrorist because it amuses him. It is sinful though, Batman is too awesome to be a DC. He needs to be a marvel dangit. or Dark Horse at least.

Since this thread HAS a spoiler warning...

Not Rachel (I don't think there's any way for her to have survived), but Two Face. There really wasn't anything to prove that he died in the movie, and covering his death up would have been consistent with Batman and Commissioner Gordon wanting to hide what Harvey became.

Doesn't surprise me. Two-Face is a stubborn character that wants Revenge.

And I saw movie!

It was great how Batman struggled to keep his "Dark Knight" thing because the Joker was just so damn evil. The Joker was played well extremely well, I haven't a seen a performance since Vader or The Emperor himself.

It was a truly a step in cinema I have seen in years. Although it was sort of like Spider-Man...though. Well in a sense because Peter struggled of being an actual "Superhero". However this movie was amazing from beginning to end it was marvelous. However I admit I hate when Bale changes his voice when he does Batman, it's annoying.

Well duh. They never said he was actually dead. The funeral itself was a sham anyhow.

How in the hell can you compare the Dark Knight to Spiderman?

It just doesn't make any sense to me.

The same kind can be said about.. Why the hell are you wearing make-up? I'm sure it makes some sense to you, but I sure as hell can't see a reason behind it. Besides, Spiderman is cool. Not all movies are about constantly killing people in a humorous manner.

Well I meant Batman and Spiderman.

There is a small comparison small but there is still one.

Bleh spelling errors. x.x;

Anyways in the Dark Knight. Batman was having trouble being Batman because he didn't know how far he could take to being Batman or how low a level he has to take to take down the Joker and of course it cost him the one he loved and went insane.

In Spider-Man 2, he didn't want to become Spider-Man because it was ruining his actual life, School, his aunt losing her house and his relationship with MJ and his job. He too wasn't sure how far he could keep up his hero act for very long. He was also afraid if anyone found out that he was Peter Parker they've could of attacked MJ.

I know it's small but it was Fear. Fear of how far they needed to become a hero.

Xera hit it on the nose. The only two DC comics that get any face/cartoon/movie time nowadays are Batman and Superman (unless you count Justice League...which is led by Batman and Superman).

The cool point that you can make is Clark Kent vs. Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker (and many other Marvel characters). No one would care if Clark Kent died. The world wold mourn Superman, but very few people would notice the death of a simple kid from Kansas. This is why Smallville was so successful--it gave Clark Kent character, allowing people to love the boy as opposed to the hero. If Bruce or Peter died, there would be many to mourn the two. Maybe more Peter Parker, but Bruce Wayne still has a major part in the Batman story.

To go on, Bruce Wayne and Peter Parker are smart men. The intellectual aspect makes them more interesting, and vulnerability requires them to be smarter heroes instead of stronger ones. Additionally, the world can hate both Batman and Spider-Man, even though they fight for good. This is an easy scapegoat to make the characters deeper, as choosing the right thing makes the world hate them.

Lastly, these two new Batman movies are on the same popularity scale as Spider-Man. Simple point, but makes it easy to compare the two.
