Lea looked around her room, picking out every little detail. She noted that it could probably use some changes, different colors, perhaps posters on the wall. After all, she was supposed to act somewhat like a real girl.

"Hey, uh, Lea, come here?"

Lea left her room, and entered Keith's, taking a good look around as she did. The room looked somewhat haphazardly put together, as if everything had been thrown randomly about. It also looked as if it wasn't used to being cleaned. The walls were covered with posters of adequately proportioned women, not unlike Lea herself.

Turning to look at her master, Lea smiled. "Yes, Keith?"

((Ye. Sorry, I've been busy.))

It had been a good work-out session; fun, even. Ren had enjoyed himself, which put him in a good mood; which was nice for everyone.

The boy found himself at home quickly, and was greeted by a box on the front step. Ren wondered where it was from, as he ran a hand along the side of the box. It read some numbers, so the boy brought it inside, without much hassle.

Another good thing that came from working out. He said, acknowledging his strength. Pausing as he put it down, the purple haired boy hesitantly opened the lid. Inside, was lots of packing, and something like... instructions?

Ren read the cover of the instructions first, and realized it was the G.I.R.L. he had ordered. The boy had forgotten this morning, that it would come today. Er... she would come today.

The boy looked into the packaging, and looked at what he ordered. She was gorgeous, and everything he had asked for. Even the fuzzy cat ears were there, something he had done on whim.

Reading the instructions, the boy lifted his G.I.R.L. out of the box, and found the switch inside her left ear. Pressing it on, Ren looked curiously at the robot, wondering what would happen.

Makes no difference what you say,

A gentle click and whir was the only noise made by the G.I.R.L. Her eyelids opened to show blue orbs. The sensors inside told the A.I. that this was her master. The unit Mari blinked, then smiled at her master. "Hello. I am unit 1760, or Mari. I will attempt to serve your house as best I can. Pleased to make your acquaintance." Mari's 'speech' when she turned on was a little different than the older models. That was the new entrance. For each new model, the speech was a bit different. So...yea.

((It's OK, I know how you feel.))

I'll get on my knees and pray.

Ren gave Mari a hard look, then went back to his normal facial appearance.

"I'm Ren. Nice to meet you too." He said stiffly.

He turned away from her, a hard thing to do when she was so pretty.

"Follow me... My parents set up a room for you." Ren said, leading her through the large house. Ren climbed up the stairs, and showed Mari to the first room on the left.

"This is your room." He stated, opening the door for her. It was painted a simple white, with crown molding, and a hanging lamp. There was a vanity off to one side, with a lighted mirror, and a canopy bed. The floors were all hard wood, as was the whole house. There was also a lighted walk in closet, and a bathroom across the hall. Ren made sure he pointed that out.

"My room is next door to yours. My parents are on the next floor up, so I don't suggest going up there." Ren warned her, eyebrow raised. Then, the corner of his mouth twitched into a half a smile. Which was something that didn't happen often.

((Just for my own curiosity, is Lea a one syllable name (lee), or a two syllable name (lee-uh)?))

Gods, but she was pretty. It took Keith a moment to get over this, and a moment more to be embarassed about the posters on his wall. When he could speak again, he said, "I was just wondering, what is is that you can do? What kind of skills do you have?" He wondered if maybe he should take a few of the more explicit posters down. Did they bother her? He was also worried about her wearing his sister's old clothes. They weren't exactly fashionable. He'd feel better if she knew how to work a sewing machine, and could alter them if she wanted.

((I've been thinking of it as two syllables. Lee-uh. But either works.))

"I can do just about anything expected of a normal girl. After all, I am essentially supposed to act as one. My body is engineered to allow me to do just about anything easily. Anything I don't know how to do, I can download the data about from the internet. Just tell me what you need me to do, and I will accomplish it to the best of my abilities."

It occurred to Lea that she hadn't actually answered his question; but had she actually answered his question completely, they would have been there for hours. It was just that much simpler to be vague.

So what if you can see...

Mari's A.I. system panicked. Her master had given her a stern look, and she had only just started up. But then he went back to being normal, so Mari let her systems know that it was an honest mistake and left it at that.

She smiled at his name. Her memory banks stored it as Master Ren. She wasn't sure if that was quite right, but she brushed it away.

Mari quickly followed master Ren upstairs to her room. She blinked at it, the sensors in her eyes storing the information of her room and the house around her.

She then looked back at master Ren, who seemed to be doing his best to not smile.

((It's Lei-uh, actually, but Lee-ah also works. =) ))

"Okay. well, there's a sewing machine in your closet, so if you want to alter the clothes you have, that's fine. Also, um, are you satisfied with your room? Mom and Dad said you could paint it whatever colors you want, and get new curtains and things if you wanted." Keith wasn't sure if it was normal to tlak to your new robot G.I.R.L. about clothes, sewing machines and interior decorating, but whatever. "Actually, I don't have to work today, so maybe you'd like to go to the store to get things today? I have a little money saved."

Ryo laughs, though he doesn't mean to, and picks himself up from the floor. She was just so formal and polite, walking on eggshells. No one really acted like that. Well, no one he knew any way. "Don't worry about wasting my time. I'm not that busy. Well, you've seen the den." He gestures with one hand to the room they were currently in. The furniture was old and the blue cushions on the couch and armchairs were a bit faded, but all of it was in pretty good condition and the wood of the coffee table was polished. The walls were a slate grey and the carpet at least used to be white; it had seen quite a few spills and years. The room was smallish but every empty spot had a growing plant or religious figurine or plaque. "It's, uh... yeah. But hey, this room has the tv. Come on." Ryo smiles and takes her arm like a gent in a movie.

Ryo leads Kara down a short hall and past the staircase into a dining room. It's actually a bit larger than the den, but more sparsely furnished with only table, chairs, a curio cabinet and a buffet. Except for the table, none of it really looked like anyone used it. The buffet was covered in yet more knick-knacks and figures. Even the walls and celings were a plain off white with an uncarpeted wooden floor. "This is the dining room so we eat here. Unless we don't feel like it."

"You better eat in there. Don't go messing up my whole house." Comes his mother's voice from the next room over; the kitchen. "I love you too, mom. I'm not messing up your house. Come meet mom. I guess you'd call her Mrs. Etchi." Ryo leads Kara into the bright yellow walled kitchen with its white linoleum floors. Mother Etchi is trying to cook, but success is limited with Jeimu leaning on her. Not for any particular reason, either. She just seems to enjoy being in the way. Garish pink apron over a blue-flowered white sundress, long black hair pinned up and white sandaled foot tapping impatiently, there was Ryo's mother. "Mom, I'm dyyyying of starvation!" Jeimu protested. "Feeeed meeeee."

Kara almost jumped in suprise as the boy laughed, wondering what she said, but whatever it was was not from just her speech. He began gesturing to the room for a moment, saying it was the "den". Ah, so it was like a living room, but now taking a closer look at it, there were lots of decorations upon whatever space wasn't taken by furniture. They seemed to be a knic-knack kind of family, but with a religious theme.

As Ryo took the robot's hand gently, she followed him gracefully, her dress trailing behind her in a almost floating like manner, as they made their way through a hall. She glanced at hte staircase as they went by; perhaps those are where the bedrooms lie? Before she could think father, they had stopped in a spacious dining room. Surprisingly, there was less furniture in here, and other than the knic-knack thing again, it barely look used......

An unfamiliar voice made the G.I.R.L.'s head turn in surprise, and Ryo led her to the kitchen, where the sister from before, as well as the carrier of the voice, were in the middle of cooking lunch.

Well, one of them was cooking, the other was purposely being in the way, with no real purpose (after all, in homes like this it's impossible to really be dying of starvation). The woman (who apparently is Ryo's mother) was wearing an apron with a blue worn sundress, tapping her foot repeately as if holding back something.

She looked........tired, as well as not in the best of moods. Kara wondered why she could be in a bad mood, but the possibilities were endless. Perhaps she needed some rest, or some help cooking....and the yellow walls were probably hurting her eyes....

Suddenly seeing as Ryo wasn't saying anything, she figured she'd best introduce herself. Walking up to the woman nervously (and waiting for a time where her hand wasn't over the stove, in case her voice suprised her), she bowed again and introduced herself, while taking a sec to glance at the clock. It was past noon; that would make it afternoon.

"U-um, good afternoon, Mrs. Etchi." she said, not sure what else to say. She tried not to look helpless, but it's usually hard to introduce yourself to one's parents.

Lea nodded, storing the information about the sewing machine for a later time. She had looked at some of the clothes in the room, and most of them would probably fit her. However, they weren't exactly stylish. She would see about altering them later.
"Its up to you, Keith. If there is something else you'd rather do, I can take care of clothing later."

In any normal household, maybe mother Etchi would be making lunch. Instead, she is making pancakes because every last one of her three children had slept in. One of them still was sleeping, for all she knew. She looked surprised at Kara's introduction, pausing to give the robot G.I.R.L. a once over. "You'd think they'd make these things so they don't stutter."

"Aw, but she's cute. And she's gonna get me a soda when Ryo's not looking." Jeimu grins and exaggeratedly waggles her eyebrows. Not even bothering to acknowledge that statement, her mother just answers "Go wake up your brother. And see if Steven wants any lunch since I'm already cooking for you bunch."

Before Jeimu could protest, Ryo spoke up. "I'll do it. I want to show Kara the upstairs anyway." Ryo was annoyed, but didn't bother to say anything. He had kind of hoped his mother wouldn't be snarky, but really had expected worse. So he just smiled and took Kara's hand again, practically rushing her out of the kitchen and to the stairs. Under his breath he whispered "Sorry about mom. She's just... weird." Would that really be enough explanation? As much as he didn't want to treat her like it, Kara was artificial with a computer for a brain. 'Just weird' probably didn't compute. Well, at least his mother wasn't still saying anything embarrassing. Not loud enough to be heard, any way.

Keith took stock of the room. It was the one place his mother hadn't gotten to re-decorate yet. The walls were a pale, powder blue, courtesy of his sister. She'd painted it that color when she'd lived here; it was her favorite. The bed was a full-size, with austere white bedclothes. On either side of it, plain wooden bed tables stood ready, and nearly bare except for the lamps on them. Above the bed hung a print of a Monet in a wooden frame. On the opposite wall stood a dresser with mirror over it. Next to the dresser was an empty desk. The bed, nightstands and dresser were a set, and the desk was made of similar wood.

Looking at it, Keith found it a little boring.

"Let's spruce up your room. We have some things in the garage that my brothers and sister were supposed to take with them, but never did. If you like some of that stuff, we'll bring it up here, then we can see what else we need." He wondered if G.I.R.L.s had favorite colors.

Ren scoffed. She was looking at him again.

"Alright... I'll show you the rest of the house." He said stiffly, leading her by the hand back down the stairs. He made a left and led her into the kitchen.

"This is the kitchen. Most of us just eat in here, except for Sundays when we eat dinner in the dining room, which is right through those doors." Ren said, pointing to two frnech doors, exiting from the other end of the room they were in.

Mari was led around the house. Rather than looking back at Master Ren, which seemed to make him edgy, she stared around the space.

From what her calculations taught her, the boy's family was fairly rich, seeing the size of his house. However, some might be touchy on this subject, so she didn't ask.

"The rest of the house is just bunches of empty rooms no one uses. We also have a grande library down the hall, and a music room next door to that. Oh, and if you need anything, like.. pillows or something, there's a buttom next to the bed's to call for attendants who are at station 24 Hours a Day." Ren explained briefly.

"Clothes.. well, I'll get you to talk with my mom. She'll probably want to take you shopping, or something." Ren told her, turning to look at the girl. Or robot.

Whichever.
