Meeting with a Wild One (Part 1, AIM RP with Tsunake and Ithai)

((Archard= Goldenrod
Ithai= Dark green))

The moon shone softly, it's bright white reflecting off of the cool, calm waters of Bass'ken lake, reflecting the many visible stars as well. A pleasant breeze blew, offering a pleasant relief from the slightly muggy summer air. It was relatively nice though, temperature wise, and a good night for being outside.

Archard smiled as he walked toward the shore of the lake...he loved coming out on summer nights. His scarf was worn loosely about his shoulders, mostly a protection from chill while flying. His steed following shortly after him, a large, and very long, dragon creature, covered in silver fur. The beast was only about 5 feet tall, but at least 25 feet long from tip to tip. He wandered right up to the water and dipped his snout in to take a drink.

"Don't go and get all wet, now...I still need to get home without getting soaked." The blonde said, chuckling as he patted the dragon.

A soft rustle emerged from the ancient trees that surrounded the cool, pure waters of the lake--the first sign that the young man and his companion were being watched. Silently, the boy clung to the rough bark of the tree, his feral gaze gleaming within the dusty beams of the moon. His chipped nails sank a bit deeper into the wood of the oak, body tense as bare feet pushed him higher and higher. He had never seen these two before, but then again, he had been locked away in that house for so long...

Well, he had escaped. Donned in his green shawl, brown pants, and various animal skins, Ithai proceeded to stalk his prey. He was curious--perhaps even awed by the power and length of the beast...and yet, he seemed so calm, so indifferent. Was this man a predator, then? The dragon surely was...though, its hide did not interest him. No tough scales for protection...though, he found himself wondering childishly if the creature's pelt was as soft as it looked.

There was a sudden snap as the bark undeath his foot broke away, sending the boy tumbling to the forest floor, his wavy brown hair flying up in curls. He landed hard on his back, the air escaping from his lungs with an explosive 'whoosh!' Stunned, Ithai could do little more than twitch, gasping for the air that had been robbed from his lungs.

The dragon's tufted ears perked as it's head jerked up, and he zipped over to investigate immediately. He was a very unusual creature. He could fly, but needed no wings, and so he seemed to glide magically through the air. He did so, and hurried toward the sound, only to stop at the sharp call of the one he had left behind.

"Alger, wait!!" Archard called, and ran after the dragon. "Who's there??" he called out, before proceeding carefully, Alger poking ahead curiously. The dragon reached the tree, and put his paws on the bark, sniffing, before his eyes lowered to settle on the most unusual little thing sitting before him. The silver beast bent forward, a deep rumble emitting from his throat, eyes full of curiosity. Alger could have been a hunter, but he had been tamed well long ago, and was a very gentle animal, serving as a mode of transportation for the family as well as a much-loved pet.

Archard stepped out from behind the tree and blinked as he surveyed the little boy, rushing over quickly, his guard dropping completely. "Are you alright?" he asked, kneeling near the little one, disregarding his unusual appearance. Archard had a soft spot for children and animals, and the kid had obviously fallen.

Ithai inhaled sharply, then rolled to his side, knees curling up to his chest in a very defensive position, hacking his little lungs out. All right, well, he'd never done THAT before. Eyes widened at sight of the dragon, and Ithai tried to scramble to his feet, wriggling desperately away from the dragon. He was still just a boy, after all. He didn't have his knife, or any traps, and this dragon certainly looked like it could swallow him if he got too close. Bad experiences with his own house-hold dragon had told him that much.

The kid shifted himself, now on his hands and knees, back arching upward as though attempting to make himself look much bigger than he actually was. Lips had pulled back, drawn into a silent, animalistic snarl while his eyes flashed. Scary little brat, wasn't he? Like some sort of wild animal.

He actually had the nerve to growl at the older teen and dragon then, limbs stiff. His body jerked with another, stifled cough, and Ithai slowly got to his feet, still seeming to bristle all over with aggression. He said not a word, teeth still displayed like he'd actually try to bite them if they did anything that he didn't like. Little twerp.

Both seemed to back off almost instantaneously. Alger snorted, and pulled back a bit, ears pinning back at the growl. He certainly wasn't the type to get confrontational, and he glanced over to Archard, as if to inquire over what they should do. He couldn't even tell himself what the boy was...he looked human, but he was acting like...a badger! Yes, a grumpy little badger.

Archard put his hands up a bit, giving the kid space as he stood back up. He was apprehensive, but not nervous, persay...the little boy was almost amusing in a way, but he didn't smile or laugh about it. "Easy there...not going to touch you...." he said, trying to diffuse some of that aggression. He looked over to Alger, glad to see the dragon backing off.

Ithai blinked in surprise for a moment, though never stopped bearing his teeth. Perhaps he hadn't expected the two, larger predators to back off so quickly. Especially the dragon--why, it looked almost cowed from his ferocity. When the man put up his hands, Ithai flinched and looked as though he would either attack or bolt...but when he saw what the other was doing, he slowly relaxed, shoulders easing, and the muscles in his face becoming calm once more.

"...Who are you?" Ah, so the beast-child did know English. It was crude, and he disliked using it, but body language did not convey everything that he needed to ask sometimes. His eyes were wary, constantly glancing back and forth from dragon to man.

Archard smiled gently, intrigued over this odd little fellow. Like the dragon, the vision of a badger had been sparked in his mind. He kept his hands up some even as Ithai's body loosened up. He hadn't realized yet that this was another GCB he was looking at...they were so very similar to other types of children, and well...you never knew what you'd find out in Gaia.

"My name is Archard." he said in a friendly manner. "And that's Alger...he won't hurt you, he's quite tame." Archard explained, to ward off any other trepidations. he was sure the youngster wasn't afraid though, from the display he'd put up only moments ago. He was fairly impressed, actually.

Mm, well, Ithai didn't like to relate himself to any beings in that mansion. Oh, he didn't have anything against them...He just hated being cooped up in that place, much like he was now. Except in a smaller, much quieter household. He hadn't really taken the time to get to know any of the children there, so it wasn't surprising that he failed to realize that Archard had come from the same place.

Archard and Alger...Though he looked impassive, Ithai made careful note of each. He'd promptly assigned them both nicknames later, after he had gotten enough information on them. Their names would do for now. "...Tame?" The child scoffed, actually glowering at the dragon now. So it had been weaned out of its instincts? Hmph. Poor beast--there was nothing crueler than not allowing something to hunt off its instincts...in his opinion.

Alger bristled, and snorted at him, and showed his teeth, a way of glaring back. His instincts hadn't been stripped, persay. He'd just come to enjoy being pampered and eating human food for treats. He usually lived out in the forest anyway, far too large to fit in the house, and caught fish from the lake there, and hunted deeper in the woods, far from the house. But Ithai could never have known that, so the dragon huffed softly.

Archard gave a weak smile. "And you would be...?" he raised an eyebrow at the interaction that took place between the two. "Well, yes. He's no housepet though." he said, finally lowering his hands to pat Alger gently. "Out of curiosity, what are you doing all alone out here? Weird stuff can come out at night." he commented, rubbing his neck. It was true, really, and sometimes even a bit unsafe.

The animalistic child stirred at the aggression displayed, staring boldly back at the dragon. And without warning, he lowered his gaze, shoulders hunching upward in a display of submission. He too, was now in the process of being 'tamed'. Against his will, of course, and he refused to give up...but what if the same thing had happened to Alger? Ithai wasn't known for his sympathy, nor for being one to back down...but maybe falling out of that tree had knocked some politeness into him? Probably not, but it was a good theory.

And that theory would last for some time, apparently. The boy's head lifted again--he apparentedly hadn't submitted to Archard just yet. "...Ithai." He was silent for a moment or two, obviously mulling over his answer. "...Hunting. I know how to stay on guard." Came the simple reply; he wasn't afraid of anything that could be living here.

Alger snorted softly, and drew toward Archard. It was merely an emphasized symbiotic relationship, almost. Being a friendly sort of dragon, he enjoyed the company of Archard and his family, since he knew of no other ivorn ridgebacks anywhere close.

"Pleasure to meet you." Archard said with a genuine smile. However, his eyebrows lifted at the answer he recieved. "Hunting? How intriguing...what are you after?" he asked, not questioning the why at all. He didn't exactly approve of killing animals, but the kid did look wild...so perhaps he knew the values of putting to use as much of the animal as possible.

A slow, long look was offered towards the dragon before Ithai returned his attention back to the man. "...Nothing...Only tracking, tonight..." Well, it seemed as though he'd talk about hunting easily enough. It was the sole thing that he seemed to do for pleasure, after all. Yet, it was not so much as a game as it was survival.

Yes, Ithai knew how to do all sorts of...unpleasant things with the bodies of the animals he had successfully trapped. Nothing was wasted. The fur, used for clothing obviously, until the people at the mansion had forced him to actually put on their version of clothing...The meat and organs, he ate, the bones were sharpened with rocks to either line his traps, or be used as spears. Nothing was wasted, or he did his best to make it that way.

Archard smirked some. "How interesting. I've never met a hunter before, or a human one, at least. What are you tracking, exactly?" he asked, and moved to sit down in the grass, feeling relatively easy around the boy, believing Ithai wouldn't attack.

Alger moved to settled next to Archard, rumbling as the boy pet the thick fur of his neck, eyes glued on Ithai, still a bit uneasy after he'd been glowered at. If it hadn't been a stranger he might have taught the boy a little lesson, but now wasn't the time.

"I haven't met any who truly understands what it means to hunt." He responded flatly. Had he met a lot of people? No, but those he had chosen to speak with didn't understand why he lived like he did--and why he enjoyed it so much. Animals understood, and perhaps that was why he acted like one.

Ithai slowly lowered himself to the ground as well, sitting in a sort of crouch. His golden eyes flickered to Alger once before he promptly ignored the dragon, not going to apologize any further than he already had.

To be continued....
(I hope it's okay that I use this RP. Archard will be writing a journal entry about this encounter later, but it isn't finished yet, so....)

Journal Entry

August 25th

Dear Journal,

Interesting news! I was out gardening the other day(It can get so messy during the summer...not something I particularly enjoy doing but it does look nice after), when I came across a tiny thing, a creature that, turns out, Kami brought home a long while ago. When I showed him to her she was quite surprised, and got a good scolding from him. He'd been living out in the flowers all this time!

I'll have to out a picture of him in here, he's the most peculiar pet of her's that I've seen. To start, his name is Krizz. He's a fairy of some sort, of course, partly dragonfly I think, because he has two pairs of long, thin wings, very iridescent in appearance. He has light blue skin, and pinkish hair, and cute, tiny little clothes...I can't begin to fathom how he made or attained those. He's hardly four inches tall!

I coaxed him into living about the plants in my little collection near the window, for now. He's curious over everything, and Milo seems a bit jealous sometimes, though he doesn't go after Krizz for some reason...he might be able to converse with wildlife, something that may have kept him safe in the garden for so long. Perhaps he is just more hardy than he appears. Living indoors seems to entertain him greatly, and he flew about my room for nearly a half hour, just observing everything.

Well, this is my little discovery of the month. I'll get some pictures in here as soon as I can, if I can get him to sit still long enough for one.

Till next time.

Meeting with a Wild One; Continued(Part 2, AIM RP with Tsunake and Ithai)

((Archard= Goldenrod
Ithai= Dark green))

Archard smiled. "I might, somewhat, but probably not the kind of hunting you mean." the boy said, watching Ithai. "There's a huge forest near my home..." he said, hinting a little. He hated to think of the boy out on his own, at least in those woods he'd be somewhat protected. And he could have a new friend, too! "Plenty of animals out there..."

Golden eyes flickered slightly, stirring with an unknown emotion. He was curious as to what Archard meant, but he wasn't going to ask. Perhaps later. "...Mmm...." The soft, musing noise was nearly lost with the soft crunch of twigs underneath his feet that occurred when he shifted. "...Where is your home?" Ithai's curiosity was getting the better of him, yet, he knew that crazy excuse for an Alpha Female would tear after him when she realized he was gone. Was it worth the risk? If she caught him, it would be unlikely that he'd be let out again...

Archard had come to the assumption that the little thing could be on the run. Unless his parents were just liberal to him...if he even had true parents. He seemed far to wild for that. He knew Kami hadn't let him run around the forest by himself without an escort or bbysitter when he had been a little one. He continued to try to coax him.

"It's a ways away from here...at least 2 hours or more walking in the dark, but much less by air." he said with a smirk, and patted Alger fondly. "We live further out from Gaia...mostly because my mother keeps a lot of pets and...stuff." he said. The list went on and on, and he wasn't about to get started.

Archard would correct in that assumption. He didn't know what Silver would do to him, but he honestly doubted that she would really injure him. For all her roaring and threatening, he had never seen her inflict harm on her children. Others who threatened her children? Well...he didn't consider her the Alpha Female for no reason. (Tsunake would actually be tearing her hair out in frustration at this time, realizing that Ithai had lunged at the first sign of freedom.)

The boy listened quietly, inwardly betting that he could get there much faster than two hours, even on foot. "...." Silver had 'pets' too...There was a creature slightly similar to Alger, but much more vicious. He needed to finish his trap for catching it, now that he thought about it. "And you aren't afraid of the 'weird stuff that comes out at night'?" He questioned innocently, shooting the man's words back at him.

Archard smirked a bit. "No, not really...well, not back home, anyway. Lots of stuff lives in the forest but most of it isn't deadly." he explained. Kami's creatures roamed as far into the forest as the lake that was there, so he would have to be careful if he wanted to bring Ithai in...Kami would be furious if even the smallest of her 'children' were harmed in any way. The far side of the lake would be perfect...only Sokanon went in that deep, and Ihtai would never want to tangle with him, nor would the beast be allowed to bother Ithai. "I know a safe place you can go..." he said, revealing his notion that Ithai was a runaway.

There was an almost unique balance within the household...of course, the inhabitants of the house lived within it normally, as most were human like, and shared space with many of the pets that were allowed and enjoyed living indoors. Kami, however, enjoyed keeping...dangerous things. And then there was the demon, who always seemed to make things possible, to keep the stranger creatures in line. It was an interesting thing to observe to be sure, but it almost always felt safe in the house, since the law was upheld well.

The small boy seemed to lose interest at that, eyes glazing over slightly. Most of it wasn't deadly? Well, that was all right--hunting wasn't exactly a sport where he tried to pit his strength against dangerous beasts...but he did like knowing that he could outwit and eventually overpower all sorts of creatures. He was fully alert when a 'safe place' was mentioned, eyes narrowing. "I don't need a place to hide." He snarled, bristling all over again. He seemed to be regaining his normal attitude--as well as some offended dignity at the fact that this guy had seen him fall out of the tree.

Stiffly, the boy rose to his feet and began to pace, his eyes flashing venomously as he shot little looks at Archard from time to time. He shouldn't stay much longer. It made him uneasy to be in one spot for so long, with the possibility that he was being hunted instead. No predator liked to feel vulnerable. Indeed, he quickly shifted over to the tree that he had fallen from earlier, scampering up the rough bark with ease. He didn't leave, however, peering down at Archard with that impassive expression etched on his face.

Archard shrugged. "They'll probably follow you...and as speedy as I'm sure you are, they probably have greater numbers. I didn't mean a place to hide...merely a place they probably won't think to look...there's plenty of forest land outside Gaia." he said, and shrugged. He wanted to observe this kid, and he would be a bit disappointed if he ran off. No skin off of his back, though, he supposed with a soft sigh as he watched the little boy pace. He blinked as Ithai scaled up the tree, impressed at the little one's dexterity, and simply watched him there, a placid expression on his face.

A lazy sort of blink at that, and Ithai mulled over those thoughts for a moment, settling himself on a sturdy branch. "....Maybe...." The kid was torn, shifting a bit. "There's a creature that lives there...I want to try trapping it, first..." That was why he was so reluctant to leave. He had never seen a dragon before--not with scales like that. Alger was nice, sure, but he didn't have any qualities that made Ithai compelled to hunt him. Besides, it was obvious that the creature was a trusted partner--not a wild animal that should be hunted.

"There are plenty of things to trap in the forest nearer where I live...perhaps not monstrous things, but good enough to get food and pelts..." Archard said. He hadn't a doubt in his mind that deer and all other manner of wild life lived out past the lake boundaries...Kami employed Sokanon to keep those boundaries, of course, so that things kept relatively safe.

Ithai simply blinked again, taking that into consideration. Pelts were good, and, of course, so was meat. However, he was inclined to stay and obtain that pelt from his current quarry, as well as poke around to see what sort of creatures lived around here. Perhaps later he would come to see this place that Archard lived. "I can't leave." He spoke quietly, fingers gripping the bark as he toyed with it, head tilted as he listened absent-mindedly for any strange sounds. "Not yet."

Archard seemed disappointed. "What is it that you're after out here that can't be found out there?" he asked curiously, tone light. He wanted to observe this creature...he was most unlike anything he'd ever seen at the house...sure there were hunters, but most of them just fished from the lake, and that lost it's interest in him after a while. He was curious to see how Ithai functioned.

The boy rolled his shoulders, beginning to shift on his perch like an edgy cat. "Lizard." No, it wasn't a lizard, it was a winged monstrosity--but Ithai was wise enough not to say he was hunting dragons when Alger was about. A stupid predator never lived. He didn't explain his reasoning as to why he needed that particular lizard--and it was for Alena's unnaturally thick scales that seemed to protect her from almost anything.

"Aaah. I bet that would make for some pretty durable clothes." Archard surmised. "There's an alligator who lives in the lake but he probably wouldn't be so keen on you hunting him...Hmm..." Archard looked thoughtful. The thought of the little boy hunting that old gator made him smirk. He could talk, of course, for some reason...and Kami was really attached to him, too.

A soft rustle from above was the only sign that Ithai was mildly interested in that. An alligator...well, still wasn't as durable as a dragon's scales, correct? Though perhaps it would offer better camouflage, instead of Alena's dusky-colored hide. Either way, he'd look into this gator ordeal if he ever got the chance to come out there. "...How long are you staying out here?"

"I dunno...I'll probably stick around for quite a while..." he replied, stretching out on the grass as he looked up at the boy in the trees. "Your only problem by this lake is that there's not much...squirrells, raccoons maybe, but no bigger game. Too many people around who come to fish." he pointed out, and pulled the scarf a bit snugger about his neck to keep away the chill.

Silence, followed by a rather rude, yet soft sound. Ithai apparently did not think highly of those who hunted the prey population until it was feeble and small. They were the ones who would eventually wipe themselves out, when all the food had disappeared due to their overpopulating greed. "...Then I will look elsewhere." He wanted solitude--humans interfered far too often.

"It is unfortunate, I know...I don't think bigger game was hunted out so much as scared off...this is a fishing lake, you know, and the forest here isn't even so large. Barton town is only a few miles south..." he mused, smiling lightly. He might just convince Ithai yet. He certainly didnt want to take him by force, no, he was far too smart for that, and he would remember and hate Archard for it, most likely. "Of course, the forests out past the lake back home, go as far as I can tell..."

Had the child been a bit more normal, he would have been grumbling with annoyance. Yes, he knew of the town, but also knew that Silver's house was quite secluded...or so he had thought. Archard's words, however, did earn a growl of irritation from the wild kid. "I'm not leaving yet." He obviously didn't like to be rushed into making decisions, and that was what he assumed Archard was trying to do. If he was kidnapped, well...Archard would never be safe, going into those woods alone. "Why do you care if I come with you or not?" Came the aggressive question, while Ithai paced to and fro on his branch.

The blonde eased up, not knowing why he was trying to rush. Ithai seemed flighty, and somehow his situation had given Archard an air of urgency. He could not be seen with the boy by his parents(whoever they were), not wanting to be accused of trying to help him escape, or become ensconced in the ordeal of trying to 'catch' him, if that ever came about.

"My apologies. I must sound like a fool. It merely grows late and well...we've been in this spot for some time." he shrugged, referring to the fact that Ithai might be being tracked as they spoke. He smiled gently to the second question. "You are very interesting to me, Ithai. It might be unusual to you, but I enjoy observing things in nature, and I have never witnessed someone like you, even in my unusual household."

Silence. The pacing had stopped, and Ithai was thinking now, wondering why the man hadn't lied to him. Or had he? Another snarl pushed itself out of his lungs, but this one was quieter, sounding mollified. He understood the need for observation, though he wasn't quite sure why he had been selected. True, he was 'different' when it came to his physical body--but was his mind so different than that of a hunting animal?

The boy dropped from the tree without warning, landing with a muffled thump on all fours as his legs and arms took the brutal impact. "...I see. If....I decide to come, I will not have done so just for your purposes and intentions. But I will not leave now." A glance was offered in the direction of Silver's house, staring wearily for a while before returning his attention to Archard.

Archard hadn't told a lie since the moment he'd started to speak with the boy. He still remained there on the grass, unthreatening, quiet. He blinked and watched curiously, a brow raising at the little snarl, though he said nothing. Archard didn't know why Ithai intrigued him so...he was indeed different from a hunting animal, though. He wasn't physically equipped like animals were, and therefore more vulnerable...he was simply primal, and the blonde wanted to observe him, plain as that. Archard could observe some of the more humanoid species of the household, like the vampires...but that was a bit too risky for him. Besides, they hunted in an entirely different manner anyway.

"I understand." Archard said, and he did, not surprised, really. Ithai was intelligent, and more stubborn than anything. "I'll leave you be, then." he said, suspecting that Ithai would hang around the forest, for a while, at least.

The boy tipped his head forward slightly, staring down at Archard, his face unreadable. What was he thinking? Who knew. But, it seemed as though he had decided to tolerate Archard, and would leave it at that. "...As long as you do not disturb my hunting...then I do not care what you do." And without another word, the boy seemed to melt into the shadows, just a flash of green and brown in the darkness as he raced to who knows where. Had he gone, back to Silver's house? Or maybe he had stayed to watch Archard--"observe" him, as the man had put it.

The blonde blinked lightly, and chuckled. "How wonderful." he said, and patted the dragon, who had almost fallen to a doze next to him. He was already making plans in his head to return the next night, perhaps, every night to try and see if he could see the unusual little boy. Hopefully he wouldn't be caught...Archard shuddered at the thought of that, especially if his parents weren't like he was, he already assumed. It was just like locking an animal away in a cage, and the very thought frustrated him. They caged none of the animals at home...everyone was pretty much allowed to do what they wanted.

"C'mon Al, let's get home..." he said, and began to retreat from the forest quietly, the silver dragon trailing quietly after him.

Journal Entry

Dear Journal,

Interesting things have been happening lately! I'm happy to say that I've met a new...'friend' I guess I could say. I doubt he thinks of me the same way but I hope to change that over time.

His name is Ithai. I have only recently learned, from my mother, that he is another GCB like myself, though perhaps I should have realized it then. How could I have known, though? He was hardly the talkative type, but he was very intriguing otherwise. He is a little hunter, and when we met I accidentally startled him. He seemed more than able to defend himself, and it even startled me a little over how vicious he acted.

I'm happy to say that I'll be seeing him again soon. It turns out that Kami and his mother are friends, and they've arranged for Ithai to come and pay a visit to us sometime soon. Since he likes being outside, the forest by the house will suit us just fine. I look forward to his arrival, which Kami told me would be soon.

I will write about his visit after he has left. Till next time,
~Archard

November 3rd

Archard sighed softly as he flopped on his bed with his journal.

Quote:
Dear Journal,

It's been quite dull around here lately, and that's saying quite a bit. The weather is growing progressively dimmer as winter sets it. I spent a night out camping in the forest and I've come down with a rather nasty sore throat...it's one of the only things I dislike about cold weather, getting sick, and now I'll be forced to stay inside until it clears up. I hope that's soon...the cloudy weather we've been having seems to hang a depressing curtain over everything, and even the ghosts have been acting more solemn lately.

I'm even more saddened to find that Ithai hasn't been able to come and visit recently like we planned, either. I do hope he's staying warm in this chilly weather, if it is chilly where he lives. Seeing as how he lives outside it would be dreadful if he didn't have adequate protection...ah well. Perhaps I shall pay him a visit myself once I get well.

That's all for now...

Journal Entry
Dear Journal.

It's been a good while since I added an entry to these old pages, and I apologise for that. Winter has been a dull, cold month, as it often is, save for Christmas, I suppose. The weather has been nasty and cold, up until recently. It makes me happy to say that spring is finally here, and the weather is beginning to warm up again.

As if to welcome the coming of spring, Kami has welcomed another guest to the household. I'd heard of the species, but have never met one until now, and he is quite the interesting fellow. He's a naga, a draconic one at that, and really rather pretty in appearance, with light blue scales and unusual darker markings on his face and back. He's friendly enough, a little shy at first, but we're all helping him settle in.

I've been pondering contacting Mal, perhaps even Soco sometime, since the weather is getting nicer...I know weather shouldn't be to blame for going out, which makes me feel pretty guilty, but who want to be up and about on a rainy day? Oh well. Writing it down will help me remember. I'll write here again soon with the results.

April 31st

Archard smiled lightly to himself as he stepped out onto the porch, taking in a deep breath of fresh air. He loved the storms that sometimes accompanied the approaching warm months of summer, and though the air was still a bit humid everything smelled fresh and earthy, a smell he'd always loved. The blonde stepped off of the the porch, hands in his pockets, one of which was warmed by the warm fuzzball commonly known as Moki.

Looking up, he glanced quietly across the field, almost completely still save for the breeze that shifted through the long, damp stalks of grass. It was times like this he loved most, the early morning, the fresh air. He let his thoughts drift, and as his eyes met the forest memories stirred within his head, both good and bad. He remembered the visit from Ithai that had never come to be, and felt lightly saddened by it, though he knew he could probably just bother his mother about it sometime later.

He brushed that train of thought away, before it could stray any further, and headed out to the barn, chuckling lightly as the tiny squirrel slipped out of his pocket and up onto his shoulder. Somehow it seemed he'd always have someone about to console him, even if they could offer no words. As if reassured, he went about on his way to the stables, ceasing his dawdling with the knowledge that he had things to take care of, mouths to help feed, and living spaces to keep clean...

((@3@ Sorry for this late entry. It's kind of random but I'll have more to write about when me and Adrian finish our RP.))

Short Hiatus Notice

Just posting to say that Kami will be going on a short, week-long hiatus, starting on the 16th and lasting till the 24th. She is going on a family vacation and will have no way to access the internet. Regular journal posting and RPing will resume when she returns.

June 30th

Archard moved quietly into his room, eyes settling onto the familiar form of the large, open cage at the other end. He slipped the gloves off of his hands, knowing he didn't really need them, and moved over toward the bird, removing the scarf he had on and brushing a rather tired hand through his short blonde hair. "Ruri..." he said quietly, just enough to wake the bird.

He'd grown quite large, larger than Archard would have ever imagined. After his last molt his tail feathers had begun to grow out, much to the boy's amazement, and the bird's crest had enlarged as well. Soon enough, Archard found that he no longer needed gloves to handle his pet, for its feet remained dainty and small, the small claws not large and imposing, as hawk's claws were.

The blonde reached in to stroke the feathered creature's red breast, prompting him to wake further, the brown feathers fluffing softly as the bird shook his head, chirruping softly as he moved to nibble lightly on his master's finger. Archard smiled, and stroked the soft feathers. "Hungry, mm?" he murmured, and backed away from the cage after seeing that his feathered companion's bowl was still full. Smiling, he went to fix lunch, figuring he'd take Ruri out later, when it cooled off.
((x_x will make more relevant entry when RPs are finished. Just had the urge to put up a little blurb to show I haven't forgot c.c))

August 10th

Archard plopped down onto his bed with a content sigh, after kicking his boots off and casting his gloves down onto his desk. Reaching across to his nightstand, he retrieved the familiar little notebook and the pen that went with it, and flipped it open to the freshest page, tapping the writing utensil against the fresh paper as he let his thoughts drift.

Journal Entry

Dear Journal,

Nothing much new. Though I do have a small amount of news. It turns out that I may be visiting Ithai again sometime soon, as planned by my mother and his. I have no qualms about that of course, as I'm rather curious to see what the boy is like now. Still the little hunter he was when I first met him near the lake? I can only wonder. I suspect he's remained as such, seeing as how he was so very wild when I met him.

No clear cut date has been set, but I can be patient...it really all relies on Ithai's caretaker choosing a date, really, as I'd be willing to meet with them whenever it's convenient.

I'm also going to be visiting Soco and taking a trip to the mall with Soco soon, and that will probably turn out enjoyable. I haven't visited the mall in a good while, so maybe it will be a good opportunity to purchase some newer clothes. I'll be sure to include all the details in my next entry...

Until then!
